Story arc[edit]

Xenoblade Chronicles 2[edit]

Lora is first seen at the end of Chapter 4, as a body in a big chunk of ice being held aboard Torna's base. She is then properly introduced in a flashback to start Chapter 5, as part of Addam's band of buddies 500 years ago. Her relationship with Jin starts as unclear, but at the end of Chapter 5 and start of Chapter 6, it is shown that she was his Driver, accidentally resonating with his Core Crystal under the nose of her stepfather Gort. With Gort being an unstable man who thinks he stole the crystal fair and square, he decides to kill her to get it back, but Jin removes his arm and vows to protect her from then on.

As Chapter 8 progresses, it comes out that Jin's nature as a Flesh Eater is due to him consuming Lora's heart. Lora had been fatally wounded by an attacking army from Indol, and in desperation to keep his memory of her alive, the two agree for him to do it. Since then, Jin has kept Lora's body frozen as a reminder to never trust Indol or Amalthus.

During the confrontation between the Marsanes and Indol, the Marsanes is destroyed, and Lora's body with it.

The editor who added this tag elaborates: Some smaller events might be good to include

The story begins with Lora and Jin wandering the Lasaria Region, dealing with the frenzied wildlife. After reaching Porton Village, which had been burnt to the ground by bandits, they decide to take in a survivor, Mikhail. After traveling further through the region, they arrive at the ruins of Feltley Village, which had been devastated by the Aegis, Malos, leaving a gigantic crater in place of most of the village. While there, they get attacked by a Gargoyle, struggling to bring it down before Mythra destroys it, almost killing them in the process. After the Artifice is dealt with, Lora realizes that Addam, Mythra's Driver, has ties with the Tornan royal family. Thinking that he is here to reclaim Jin, the four of them battle before Addam stops the fighting. They are soon joined by Milton, Addam's attendant, and Haze, Lora's Blade. While making camp, Haze tells Lora about the whereabouts of Rynea, the latter's mother, for whom she had been searching for, located in Torigoth Village in Gormott. She decides to head there in order to find her mother, Addam deciding to tag along as he desires her help in stopping Malos.

Once they reach Torigoth, they find out that the village has been desolated and everyone was killed, including Rynea. Later, still in Torigoth, they are attacked by Ardainian troops led by Brighid, mistaken for bandits. When Hugo, Brighid's Driver, arrives, he stops the battle stating that "there is no need for this" since Hugo and Addam know each other. Everyone goes to the Strategy Room of the Ardainian flagship except Lora and Haze, where they instead stay in the Torigoth Cemetery, decorating the graves. Suddenly, Gort and some hired mercenaries try to kill them to reclaim Jin's Core Crystal. Jin then rushes in to assist them and cuts both Gort's last remaining organic arm and his prosthetic arm.

While in Aletta, Lora teaches her technique, passing the weapon between Driver and Blade, to Addam and Hugo. Afterward, the party learns from a Tornan army messenger that Malos is planning an attack on Auresco, the Kingdom of Torna's capital. En route, Minoth joins the party.

After the party is unable to stop Malos from stealing Torna's seal, the party meets with the Tornan King and Zettar, affirming that they'll stop Malos. During the audience, the Tornan King decides to knight Lora. The knighting ceremony takes place the day after, in the streets of Auresco, where Addam knights Lora while the king and Zettar watch from afar. After making ample preparations for the upcoming battle against Malos, the party crosses the Tornan Titan Interior and arrives at The Soaring Rostrum, where Malos was waiting for them. After a very tough battle, Malos is seriously hurt by Mythra and the Tornan Titan is destroyed. An Ardainian warship arrives and evacuates the group.

Some time later, in Gormott, Addam and Mythra, now converted into Pyra, ask Lora, Haze and Jin to travel to Spessia and command the remaining people of Torna who fled there to travel to Leftheria, as they intend to travel to the royal Spirit Crucible to seal the third Aegis Sword. On Spessia, while on their way to the refugee camp, Lora, Haze and Jin are ambushed by Gort, who was mutated into a prototype Blade Eater by Indol, seeking vengeance against them. As they finally arrive at the refugee camp, Amalthus, now the Praetorium's Praetor, launches an attack on the Titan.

  • When she was little, Lora lived with her mother Rynea and her stepfather in an unknown location, most likely in the Kingdom of Torna.
    • When she was ten years old, Gort stole Jin's Core Crystal from the Tornan palace, and Lora, by error, resonated with it. Gort, outraged, tried to kill her but a newly-awakened Jin stopped him by cutting his right arm. After that, Lora and Jin went on the run.
  • Some years later, Lora joined a mercenary group and resonated with Haze, who their bonds became extremely close.
  • Right after the events of Torna ~ The Golden Country, Lora, Jin and Haze arrive to Spessia just before Amalthus attacks on the region. Lora is killed and she gets sad by thinking that Jin would forget her. Jin, devastated that he'll be reborn and will lose his memories of Lora, eats her heart in order to turn into a Flesh Eater and they can be together for eternity.
    • After that Jin forms the Torna organization and freezes Lora's body in the Marsanes.
  • In order to save money, Jin and Lora shared one weapon together, passing Jin's sword between each other mid battle. After meeting Addam, this money saving strategy gained popularity as a fighting style, and, 500 years after the events of Torna ~ The Golden Country, it became the dominant fighting strategy in Alrest, albeit in a refined form.
