Phantasmoon (ファンタズムーン, Fantazumūn?) is the Magical Girl alter-ego of Arcueid Brunestud. She is summoned as a Pretender-class Servant by Ritsuka Fujimaru in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order.
Profile[]
Identity[]
A cult magical girl anime produced and aired exclusively in a certain city. It's said to be based on a true story that was delivered to the mountain. The show ended with only moderate popularity. The sponsors began making a sequel, saying they were not satisfied with the way the villains in the story were treated.[2]
The staff was doubled, the social metaphors that were heavily incorporated in the first edition were avoided as much as possible, and "Phantasmoon Eclipse" was restarted as a work for children. The scale of Eclipse was greatly increased with the addition of the mysterious Indian Mademoiselle Curry as action director, Mr. Cook as director, and a dark-eyed maid as a negotiator for the voice actors' fees. The flashy action and the length of the Phantasmoon sky seemed to have reached their limit, and it became a big hit with children.[2]
(...The "Serial NEET Incident of the Magical Girl Who Changed the World" that later occurred in Fuyuki City is believed to have been committed by a girl influenced by this show.)[2]
Additionally, episodes 11, 26, and 35 are unique in that they do not feature any female characters, including the heroine, making this an extremely popular work.[2]
Appearance[]
Her design in TAKE MOON had a complete skirt, a less ornate boots, a different rod.[3]
In Character material, her design had more changes: with a slit in her skirt, more golden decoration in her cuffs and heels and a less detailed boots, her collar got a longer lace. She got her cat ears in order to fight against Kaleido Ruby.[2]
In Fate/Grand Order, her design is closer to the one featured in TAKE MOON, with few changes like the removal of the cat ears that only appears in the Space Phantasmoon V form. The gloves fully cover the hands, a blue lace in the torso is connected to the collar. The lace is shorter and narrower than the previous design. The boots have a golden sole with more golden details shaped as the Crescent Moon around the thighs, like the first design. Her rod is closer in appearance to the original design. Her skirt is now fully depicted without the slit, like her original design.
Personality[]
Extroverted, positive and active. The shift from Neutral Good occurred during the Christmas season, inspired by a change in her chosen course. She openly expresses both joy and anger, maintaining an innocent demeanor. As a True Ancestor, she possesses a wealth of knowledge and a dry, rational side, resulting in a blend of carefree intelligence.
Talkative and curious, she engages with all, even potential adversaries. She listens to their arguments, acknowledges their beliefs, and then declares, "I understand perfectly, but it doesn't sit right with me. So let's fight!" That is what her lawful alignment signifies. While appearing self-centered, she genuinely strives to understand humanity and avoid disrupting her surroundings.[1]

Role[]
TAKE MOON[]
Arcueid is seen by Shiki Tohno and Ciel acting like an actual Magical Girl after she was inspired by a movie she watched alongside Shiki. Being inspired by the movie, she took upon the role of Phantasmoon.[3]
Ciel confronts Arcueid, telling her to stop acting like that, however Arcueid love this new phase in her life and continues to act like a hero.[3]
Later she is attacked by Ciel in her Executioner garments, but is seen by a school girl, Arcueid tells her to flee as she deals with Ciel. The girl reports it to the police and is interviewed by TV reporters, recounting the encounter of Phantasmoon and Ciel, under the name Ciel the Curry Master, rank 7 of the Dark Garam Masala organization.[3]
Fate/tiger colosseum UPPER[]
She is one of the magical girls who gathered in Fuyuki at the invitation of Magical Amber to "form the Magical Four Heavenly Kings" However, being a free-spirited girl, she just says "there's a Hero of Justice booming", and ignores what Magical Amber has to say, attacking the evil magician. After realizing that Magical Amber is the mastermind behind a plan to conquer the Earth, she defeats her and saves the Earth. However, being a fickle girl, she easily forgives Magical Amber after defeating her, because she just wants someone to play with.
The staff she holds was stolen from Medea a long time ago, and Medea still holds a grudge against her.
Carnival Phantasm[]
In "White Moon Princess Phantasmoon: THE MOVIE", Phantasmoon teams up with Kaleido-Ruby to defeat the trauma monster which is lamenting that she doesn't have her own visual novel route. Using Marble Phantasm, they summon a giant Neco-Arc to make the trauma monster realize everyone already loves her even without a route.
Fate/Grand Order[]
After being told by Ciel that she would make a horrible Santa, Arcueid decides that changing her current frame will let her act as one. She initially tries to take Medea's staff, but Medea convinces her to instead take a different staff that she made as an attempt to reverse-engineer Magical Ruby.

Phantasm Rod - Cheerful in Fate/Grand Order.
In TAKE MOON, her rod was named Phantasm Rod, it was still Heart shaped, however it had bat wings and a star shaped connecting the top and the rod part. A crown was located at the top.[3]
In Character material, Phantasmoon's description said she stole Medea's staff and wields it. In Fate/Grand Order, she instead barges into Medea's studio and ask for her staff, however Medea trying to escape the predicament of having to deal with Arcueid, is reminded that she made a stick based on Illyasviel von Einzbern's Magical Ruby. However Medea just made it for the sake of doing didn't had any use to it and decided to leave it in a back storeroom in Chaldea. Arcueid searchs for the stick and uses it to transform into Phantasmoon. In one of her attack animations, she turns her new rod into the one used by Medea to launch an attack.
Skills[]
Class Skills[]
- Magic Resistance (B Rank): Interference techniques created by civilization are rendered mostly ineffective… or at least that’s what should happen. Her deep immersion in 21st-century human culture has increased her susceptibility to magecraft.[1]
- Item Construction (A Rank): True Ancestors have a unique psychic power named Marble Phantasm, which allows them to create anything that spawns from nature. It is essentially an all-powerful printer that can reproduce any natural occurring flora, minerals and geographical features. Human-made items such as chemical compounds or architecture do not fall under this jurisdiction. However, with the greedy notion that 'all items originally came from nature anyway', such things become possible. In such a scenario, the scale and accuracy drops significantly. That said, something like a whiteboard is child's play.[1]
- Territory Creation (- Rank): "That’s a ridiculous accusation! The White Moon Princess is a clean vampire! I have no involvement with Cielesque stuff like Idea Bloods or Crimson Moon, okay?!" Because she insists on being both a magical girl and Santa Claus, she can no longer manifest the Millennium Castle with her Marble Phantasm. It's just kind of a vague presence in the background now, you know?[1]
- Independent Action (B+ Rank): Being an incarnated Elemental, she is able to materialize at her target after a one-way trip from the Inner Sea of the Planet. When returning to it, her body will be dispersed.[1]
- Incarnation of the Holy Night (EX Rank): A forcibly altered version of Ultimate One. By capitalizing on her December 25th birthday, she has constructed the audacious theory of 'Christmas = me.'
Personal Skills[]
- Earth Heart Rhythm (A Rank): A magical evolution of Breath of the Planet, infused with joy. Initially a skill that augmented the user's Lifescale by synchronizing with the Earth, it now prioritises sharing the planet's strength with her companions over self-reinforcement.[1]
- Red Star Vamp (EX Rank): Phantasmoon's signature move, the Mystic Eyes of Cuteness. As Santa Claus, she employed her Rainbow Mystic Eyes, inducing immediate repentance in even the most hardened criminals. Naughty children would weep and confess their misdeeds upon gazing into them. "It's just as the saying goes. A frog paralyzed by a snake's gaze," remarked Prisoner A, who had been reformed by Phantasmoon. Reflecting on this, she mused, "Hmm, that's not very magical girl-like." Thus, Phantasmoon adapted her Mystic Eyes to better suit the Holy Night, utilizing them to inspire her companions and shower them with stars beneath a radiant blue glass moon.[1]
- Blue Glass Moon (EX Rank): Due to the space change, the skill Funny Vamp has also undergone a transformation. Its original function, safeguarding life on Earth, has become obsolete. Now, leveraging her Authority as the planet's brain, she grants herself exceedingly self-serving buffs.[1]
Noble Phantasms[]
Phantasmoon's Noble Phantasm is Marble Phantasm - Happy Verse.
