Lord Muryan (ムリアン様, localized as Murian?) is a Wing Clan fairy acting as Head of the Wing Clan (翅の氏族の長?) and Lord of Gloucester (グロスターの領主?) in the British Lostbelt in Fate/Grand Order. Kazuradrop can take on Muryan's appearance through a Spiritron Dress.
Profile[]
Identity[]
Muryan is the leader of the Wing Clan and of Gloucester. Muryan has inherited the blood of a Sub-Bell, which is a fairy comparable to a True Ancestor.
Appearance[]
She shares many visual traits with one of the Sakura Five, Kazuradrop.
Personality[]
Muryan acted in an elegant manner, although she stated that when all is said and done she would follow her own agenda. She cared deeply for her late clan and was traumatized when they were culled by the fang clan. Her hate for the fang clan ran deep, to the point where she waited for centuries for the chance to massacre them all, in an act of vengeance. After her revenge was complete her sanity deteriorated to the point she didn't even remember her actions, regaining her mind only after being mortally wounded by Oberon. She had a fine relationship with Koyanskaya each treating the other as a friend. At the end of her life she decided to ask of Koyanskaya to save Britain, instead of revenge.
Role[]
Fate/Grand Order[]
Fae Round Table Domain: Avalon le Fae[]
She is the business partner and ally of Tamamo Vitch Koyanskaya. As Muryan decided to help Chaldea Security Organization, Tamamo Vitch will help them as well. However, it is implied that she is planning to betray them as well as Beryl for her own reasons.[1]
She massacres the Fang Clan in revenge for them massacring her clan. However, as a consequence, Britain is left largely defenseless against the Mors.
Oberon Vortigern fatally wounds her when she discovers the truth about Faerie Britain and its Calamities. He thanks her for massacring the Fang Clan as the Mor would've been defeated and the Great Calamity wouldn't come otherwise. He then confesses that he orchestrated the Fang Clan's massacre of the Wing Clan. There was no particular reason for it, he was just irritated at the time.
In her final momets, Muryan asks Vitch to protect Britain.
Fate/EXTRA CCC Fox Tail[]
Muryan is one of the component spirits of High Servant Kazuradrop.[2]
Abilities[]
Nobody is allowed to bring strength achieved through training into Muryan's Fae Domain at Gloucester. All who enter, even Morgan herself, are left with no more power than they were born with. However, Muryan claims that Morgan could easily dispel her Fae Domain if she wanted to.[1]
Oberon Vortigern was able to kill Muryan inside her own domain.
Development[]
Creation and Conception[]
Muryan was designed by Arco Wada in Fate/Grand Order.
Within the context of gameplay, Muryan is a switchable costume for Kazuradrop.
"Did you think she's Kazuradrop? Too bad, she's a 100% local fairy! So why does she look like Kazuradrop? To begin with, when Kazuradrop was planned for CCC, Muryan was supposed to be one of the legends that served as her source. "Each time she grants a wish, her body is whittled away at until she becomes too small to see." Since fairies were the central theme this time and Muryan was set to appear, I was driven by my selfish desires to ask Wada Arc to design her as a "Fairyland version of Kazura". - Kinoko Nasu[2]
Muryan's design was originally an unreleased First Ascension artwork for Kazuradrop and was later reused as a costume.[3]
