Identity[]

Ishtar is the goddess of beauty, good harvests, war, lust, discord and fertility in Mesopotamian MythologyWP/Sumerian MythologyWP/Babylonian MythologyWP, one of the many Earth Mothers that inherited the power of all creation from the Goddess of Çatalhöyük's Potnia Theron in 6,000 BC.[3][1][2][4] Said to be the most Powerful and beloved goddess in mesopotamia.[2] Her Sumerian divine name was said to be InannaWP (イナンナWP, Inan'na?), and that name is actually her older name. Ishtar is her Akkadian divine name.[1][2] It means “The Mistress of Heaven”.[1] A goddess of Venus, a goddess who governs over the good harvests that brings prosperity to the people, and even a goddess who rules over war and destruction, she is a great goddess who, among the goddesses, was presented with many rights and Authorities by the other gods.[1][2] In Sumerian Mythology, she plays an active role as a dynamic goddess and as a goddess who is like the heroine of a story, possessing various anecdotes.[1] Particularly among them, a famous one is her feeding the city of Uruk to a fearsome Divine Beast called the “Bull of Heaven”, seemingly an anecdote that caused the city to be on the brink of destruction; in any case, she is said to be the most powerful goddess in mesopotamia.[1][2]

At any rate, Ishtar is a powerful deity that is free and uncontrolled and is also famous for having numerous loves; it is said that she would make advances with all her energies on those who she took a liking to, regardless of those being humans or other deities, and she has many lovers, irrespective of them being from the domain of men or from the domain of the gods.[1][2] On the other hand, she also displayed a demon-like cruelty towards those who did not bow to her will.[2] She is a deity who was perfected as a deity, one who usually took control and command of things. There is no compromise.[1] The motive for bringing out the Divine Beast onto the Earth was said to be the result of the King of Heroes, Gilgamesh of UrukWP, having not responded to her orders.[1][2]

Legend[]

After Gilgamesh and Enkidu defeated Humbaba, the goddess Ishtar fell in love with Gilgamesh. She proposed to the King of Heroes, but he quickly refused because he knew that Ishtar was a powerful and terrifying goddess who rendered men useless. Ishtar, enraged by Gilgamesh's insults, Demanded her father, the god Anu, to release of the greatest of Divine Beasts, the "Bull of Heaven", onto the Earth for her revenge. Against this Divine Beast none could match, Gilgamesh and Enkidu worked together to stand against it and repelled it splendidly. Once again, the goddess lost face. Naturally, Ishtar's rage had not lessened, and she Demanded death for one of the two of them from the gods because it was a sin for one with a human body to kill the beast of the gods. Ishtar's decree was enacted, and one of the two, Enkidu, who was created by the gods, was unable to defy that decree, slowly weakened, and died.[4]

Appearance[]

This form is not that of the goddess Ishtar herself, but a Pseudo-Servant condition in which a human that has a wavelength close to her own was made into a vessel.[2]

Unlike Ereshkigal, Ishtar retains Rin's black hair. However her true form outside Rin's body has blonde hair.[5]

In this form, Ishtar has red eyes and long black hair tied up into twin tails with two black ribbons. On top of her head is a black and gold tiara, along with a golden neck brace and matching "O" shaped earrings.

Ishtar's clothing is very revealing, with her top being a white bra that is outlined with gold and exposes a bit of cleavage along with her lower back and stomach. On her bottom is a jeweled black-gold thong. She also wears a dark blue stirrup with gold ornaments on her right leg, a gold bracelet on her left ankle and is seen walking barefoot. Her left arm is outfitted with a black and gold glove that covers her forearm, while her right arm has a golden bracelet around her upper-arm.

Personality[]

In “Fate/Grand Order”, Ishtar has materialized as a Pseudo-Servant by possessing a human. Since Ishtar is egotistical, she behaves without paying any regard to the possessed human, but her nature is receiving a big influence from the human that was possessed. Originally, Ishtar is both deeply compassionate and cruel, but because the personality of the possessed human is more virtuous, her cruelty has retreated to the bottom of her heart, and her good side appears to have come out ahead of it.[1][2]

Active and extroverted. The goddess of war and good harvests that lives according to her own whims without being a slave to her own fixed position, all while having high intelligence and pride. Ishtar loves beautiful things, hates ugly things, and the things she desires are the things she absolutely takes hold of in her own hands. Even though she is smart, she is impulsive, and sometimes leaves with an unthinkable reckless abandon. In myths, Ishtar is commented by Gilgamesh as thus: “Inanna? Isn’t she the most annoying goddess in the world!? She will destroy something that certainly doesn’t need to be destroyed, and she will also create something that doesn’t need to be created!” If Ishtar becomes ostentatious in this world, then surely in that way, she will invite chaos simultaneously.[1]

The root of Ishtar’s personality does not have any changes even when materialized as a Servant. It cannot be helped that Rin, who is the possessed vessel, almost has the same nature as Ishtar’s as well. Rin is a hardworking person who is not negligent in her trainings even though she is a genius. which appears to be giving a little influence on this Ishtar. Incidentally, Rin became independent after losing her father when she was very young.[1]

Ishtar is the exact opposite of Kongming (Zhuge Liang), who is identical to her by being another Pseudo-Servant, in that the human personality, the basis of the possessed human, does not come out to the surface. Ishtar thinks and behaves as Ishtar to the very end. Although she thinks to herself “Is it because I am just being a destructive god?”, Rin’s innate goodness is mixed in with that Benevolence of Ishtar, and the following changes were made:

- I must be the most beautiful → (If there is someone more beautiful than me, I will strive to become more beautiful then)

- I’ll kill anyone who opposes me → (If I made someone cry because I went too far in killing someone, I would rather stop then)

- I’ll tolerate anyone who is faithful to me → (I will lend my power only in proportion to the faith you have in me)[1]

Openly like this, Ishtar’s cruelty is held back, and when assessing this as Rin Tohsaka, it at least becomes “Ah, I became just a little higher than usual.” Also, Ishtar herself is not conscious of Rin being her possessed body. “I am myself. Whatever human this possessed body was, is now the goddess Ishtar herself. Think of it in this way. Instead of saying this human was taken over by Ishtar, it is rather that suddenly on one day, she became Ishtar as well.” Although it openly sounds like she is making light of Rin’s human rights, it actually means the exact opposite. Ishtar recognizes that “if Rin Tohsaka is Ishtar, then it means Ishtar is Rin Tohsaka, regardless if it is from something like whoever is on top, to whichever one of them accepts this current state of things.” Although she will absolutely not say this.[1]

To say it in a few words, a “Tohsaka of Light (yet a devil)”.[1] Truly, a (red) devil from Venus.[2]

For Ishtar, the Master is "a human worth teasing." Although she thinks of herself as someone celebrated, she will never do things such as looking down on someone, including humans, given that the personality of the possessed body, Rin, is her base. She comes into contact with the Master with deep affections and friendship, although simply as “a toy worth teasing.” However, as their bonds deepens, the virtue of taking care of people that she has since the beginning and her emotional weakness (of completely emphasizing with someone) works against her, and they grow from “a toy worth teasing” into “my cherished contractor, whose future is worth watching over.[1][2]

"After losing all the money he has on hand through gambling, he returned back to his home to find his storehouse of treasures burning, and for the finishing blow, while he was still broke, his debt was being collected after the break period he had implored the collector for had just ended, and he died!"[1]
"I'm surprised that he would help anyone... Even more surprised than when I found out who was behind this. What am I talking about? Isn't it obvious? The guy who ignored me, that boorish, selfish Goldy!"[6]
Enkidu
"In the middle of its journey, its vehicle’s engine stalled and even its cellphone had a flat battery, so it wandered around without any decent food too, before in the end, it finally arrived at a diner, only for zombies to infest the place, and it died!"[1]
EreshkigalSpace Ereshkigal
"Woah! Why are you contracting with Ereshkigal!? She's me, but she's not me! She's a darker, gloomier me that's completely unlike me! Anyway, I'm here, so don't talk to any other versions of me!"[6]
Ereshkigal
"A Tohsaka of Darkness, huuh?..."[1]
Space Ishtar
"Uh-huh... So this goddess is a walking disaster bound to destroy space, whose good and evil sides split and were raised separately, but ultimately they combined and reformed and now she's serving a human? Pffft! What the heck!? Even if this is just some tall tale, isn't that still a hell of a stretch!? No matter how much you trawl through mythology, there's no way there's a goddess who sounds THAT ridiculous! Ahahaha!"[6]

"As a fellow goddess of Venus, she is an accomplice I can always rely on, but darn, I don’t think I know anyone as frightening as this girl. She is a goddess of boundless goodness, remember? Extreme good is more unforgiving than evil. If you seriously get on her bad side, she can crush a city or two, that monster."[7]

"So Elizabeth Báthory is also wearing a swimsuit. Her bikini looks like armor...do you think it'll rust in salt water? Hey wait a minute, doesn't it seem like more of her pop up every year?"[6]
Sakata Kintoki
"Oh, there's that biker Heroic spirit. That's quite the monster machine...Maybe I'll invite him to a race next time. But what's his True Name...? Oh, Golden? Is there really a Heroic spirit by that name?"[6]
Medb
"Why did I go after Medb’s Connacht, you ask? Because she’s my greatest potential enemy, obviously. I just made the first move in our bout. If Medb had got the Grail instead of me, she would have thought the same thing, no doubt!"[7]

Seventh Singularity: Babylonia[]

Ishtar-Ereshkigal waking up

Ishtar and Ereshkigal being summoned.

In Chapter 7, Ishtar appeared as the only living Sumerian deity. By becoming a Pseudo-Servant, she manifested on the lands of Mesopotamia, attentively watching the Seventh Singularity and the future of humanity.[1] Although she says that her role is to attentively watch the humans in a way appropriate for a goddess, it means she is watching over them while letting out an evil sneer. “Well then. I wonder if the humans will survive this, or will they be destroyed?[1][2] By chance, she happens to see the protagonist persevering as a mere human being while losing their Servants, being a favorite among those she teases, and temporarily links a contract with them. In the end, she proves to be a literal “Goddess of Victory”.[1]

Also, it is a digression, but regarding the battle against Ishtar in one section of the Seventh Singularity’s Tenth Chapter, she had a Passive Skill called “Broken Lapis LazuliWP Necklace”. Because it is broken, its original effect becomes the exact opposite (Noble Phantasm damage reduced by 30%). Ishtar herself realizes that negative effect, but daringly wears it. Even if it is for this reason: “It is still beautiful, and I wanted to flaunt it; plus, if I think about this inversely, even if it starts to act up violently and flare up, I am not going to suffer damage because I am already suffering from its debuff, right?” Or so she thinks. But she ignores pointing out that she had used her Noble Phantasm, which caused it to act up violently in the first place.[1]

Whem the era was becoming a Singularity, the temple matron took advantage of the unstable space-time to connect to other eras to summon Rin Tohsaka. Due to her compatibility, Rin was used as a vessel for Ishtar.[8] Unbeknownst to Ishtar though, Ereshkigal was summoned at the same time. She then killed the matron by draining her of her magical energy.[9]

While searching for the missing Gugalanna, Ishtar crash lands onto Ritsuka. She wonders if they’re a sacrifice fleeing Nippur or a survivor from Babylon. She prepares to kill them when Mash explains who she and Ritsuka are. Ishtar decides not to kill Ritsuka for touching her, as they’re ignorant of the Singularity’s rules and circumstances. She tells Ritsuka their life will be spared if they forget everything that happened earlier. She then indirectly asks them if they’ve seen Gugalanna around. Ritsuka isn’t able to answer when Demonic Beasts attack. After killing the beasts, Ishtar leaves, warning Ritsuka and Mash to return to Chaldea. (In the anime she wishes them luck but warns them that their mission is dangerous).[10]

She later busts through the roof of Uruk’s ziggurat to confront Gilgamesh and decides to kill him as payback for his years of mocking her. She also decides to kill Ritsuka to prevent any rumors of their first encounter from spreading. In the ensuing fight, she prepares to destroy the ziggurat along with everyone. She stops, however, when she notices Medusa behind Ritsuka. She leaves after recognizing who Medusa truly is.[11]

Over the next month, Ishtar harasses the ranchers outside of Uruk. While she does kill the Demonic Beasts attacking them, her attacks damage their ranches and scare their sheep. In addition, she takes their gems as compensation. Ishtar eventually attacks Ritsuka’s party in Kutha for questioning the ranchers. Ritsuka’s party fights her, but she flies away whenever they gain the advantage. She suddenly gets drowsy, so Medusa takes advantage of it to knock her down. The impact knocks Ishtar unconscious, and the group ties her up.[5]

Ishtar encounters Ritsuka’s party again when they come to her temple on Mt. Ebih. She is aware of their defeat by Gorgon. Then declaring she can no longer treat Ritsuka and Mash as ignorant outsiders, she fights the group. The fight stops, however, when Mash shows her the cart of gems Gilgamesh provided them. Merlin explains they want to hire her, with the promise she’ll receive a large percentage of Gilgamesh’s gems. Ishtar is conflicted about accepting such an offer because of the years of animosity between her and Gilgamesh. Romani Archaman further convinces her by saying she’ll be remembered as a pure, righteous goddess. Ishtar eventually gives in and agrees to join the group. She then contracts with Ritsuka. Outside her temple, she explains the circumstances of her summoning. She also seems to know about Medusa’s circumstances, which Medusa asks her not to divulge. The group then leaves the mountain, reaching the plains below by nightfall.[8]

Returning to Uruk, the group learns from Gilgamesh that Marduk's axe, which can be against Gorgon, is in Eridu. Ishtar reveals Quetzalcoatl is the southern goddess. In response to Romani's confusion about Quetzalcoatl being female, she explains how the Mesoamerican pantheon uses human vessels. A soldier then reports Quetzalcoatl has destroyed the southern gate, and she's now heading for the ziggurat. Ritsuka's party head out to fight her.[12]

Quetzalcoatl vs Ishtar

Ishtar being beaten by Quetzalcoatl.

They fight her, but their attacks are ineffective. Quetzalcoatl leaves, having reached her daily quota of killing 100 humans. The group then witnesses Jaguar Man stacking the dead soldiers onto a cargo slab. After killing her were-jaguars, they return to the ziggurat. It is insinuated Quetzalcoatl has a temple in Eridu dedicated to her to increase her divinity. The group realizes they will need to destroy the symbol of her power at the temple to lower her divinity. Gilgamesh then orders them to go to Eridu to defeat Quetzalcoatl and retrieve Marduk’s axe. Upon their return, preparations for the battle with Gorgon will begin immediately.[12]

Traveling through the jungle, the group is ambushed by Jaguar Man. But thanks to Ishtar, they're able to defeat her Ritsuka then convinces her to join them through flattery. She guides the group to Ur, where they find the Urukian soldiers alive. Jaguar Man explains Quetzalcoatl revived them right after killing them. But the soldiers are forbidden from leaving because they're members of Quetzalcoatl’s army.[13]

The next day, the group is guided through the jungle to Eridu. They learn Quetzalcoatl has recently returned from Uruk. Jaguar Man says she and the others will hold Quetzalcoatl off while Ritsuka destroys Piedra Del Sol, the symbol of her power. She then gives them a spare of her weapon she made last night for this very purpose.[13]

The group enters Eridu and breakthroughs to the temple. They also see Marduk’s Axe behind it. Ritsuka heads for Piedra Del Sol while the others hold off Quetzalcoatl. She defeats them by the time Ritsuka reaches the altar. Ritsuka prepares to destroy the stone when they realize Quetzalcoatl wants to see a display of human resolve. At Jaguar Man’s suggestion, Ishtar takes Ritsuka high into the air so they can body slam Quetzalcoatl. Quetzalcoatl catches them at the last moment and joins the group, impressed by Ritsuka’s resolve.[13]

Due to the sheer size of Marduk’s axe, Quetzalcoatl fastens ropes made from jungle vines to her winged serpents to carry it to Uruk. After preparations are complete, she takes the group to see a cylinder seal in the center of Eridu. Merlin transcribes its inscription into the air to reveal the prophecy of Mesopotamia becoming a Singularity and Tiamat razing Uruk. The group realize Gilgamesh made preparations against the Demonic Beasts because he knew of the prophecy. Thanks to his preparations and the resolve of Uruk’s populace, Mesopotamia was able to stave off destruction for half a year before Chaldea arrived. Quetzalcoatl then orders Jaguar Man to supervise the winged serpents carrying Marduk’s axe.[9]

Returning to Uruk, the group learns Gilgamesh died from seemingly overexertion. They doubt this, as Siduri notes several similar cases in Uruk. Quetzalcoatl attributes this to Ereshkigal, confirming she is the third member of the Alliance, not Ishtar. Merlin reveals Ereshkigal has been using Ishtar's body without her knowledge since she can't leave the underworld. Quetzalcoatl suspects one of Ereshkigal’s gallû spirits took Gilgamesh’s soul to Kur. When Ritsuka and Mash decide to rescue Gilgamesh, Ishtar warns every Heroic Spirit and deity is powerless in Kur, and only Ereshkigal has absolute authority there. She then tries to escape, only for Quetzalcoatl to grab her and ask her to guide the group to Kur. Ishtar warns without Dumuzid there, the group won’t be resurrected if they die in Kur.[9]

Ishtar creating a hole to Kur

Ishtar creating an entrance to Kur

At Kutha, Ishtar tells Quetzalcoatl and Merlin to stay behind while she goes with Ritsuka and Mash into Kur. The first reason is that a god's powers are nullified in Kur, and the second reason is so Merlin and Quetzalcoatl can serve as backup in case the others fail. If that happens, Merlin and Quetzalcoatl will need to convince Ereshkigal to return Ritsuka and Mash. Ishtar notices that Medusa is absent but considers that it's for the best since she''d be powerless in Kur. She then blasts a large hole in the ground, sending Ritsuka and Mash down into Kur and following in after them.[14]

Ishtar in front of the first Gate

Ishtar walking towards the gate of Kur.

Inside Kur, Ishtar explains they had to enter the underworld physically because it could be fatal if she teleported them, only for her powers to be sealed. She notices there are more soul cages than before, suspecting the Alliance is responsible. Afterward, she guides Ritsuka and Mash to the first gate of seven required to pass through to reach Ereshkigal’s palace. But instead of asking binary questions that are fair and logical to test a soul's morality, the gates ask illogical ones with the answers being related to Ishtar and Ereshkigal. Ishtar also shrinks with every gate she passes through, losing 1/7 of her divinity at a time. Eventually, the group finds Gilgamesh, who hid from the gallû spirits so they couldn’t capture him. They also learned Kingu’s body is Enkidu’s since Gilgamesh said their remains were missing from their grave before Chaldea’s arrival. They then pass through the remaining gates and enter Ereshkigal’s palace.[14]

After Ereshkigal is defeated, Ishtar is returned to normal size, and Gilgamesh is unbound from the underworld. Ziusudra then bisects Ereshkigal, though what he killed was her bond with the Alliance. Ereshkigal agrees to aid the group as repayment for Ritsuka’s kindness. The group then returns to Uruk.[14]

At the ziggurat, the group immediately begins a strategy meeting for Gorgon. Gilgamesh orders the group to go to the Blood Fort deep within the Cedar Forest, while the Northern Wall forces hold off Gorgon’s forces. Once the Blood Fort is destroyed, Gorgon will lose much of her Authority. Gilgamesh suggests Quetzalcoatl throws Marduk’s Axe at the Blood Fort from the Northern Wall, where it was relocated. Merlin devises a plan to ensure that the axe hits its target. The group then travel to the Northern Wall to begin the operationn.[15]

While Quetzalcoatl and Jaguar Man stay behind at the Northern Wall, the others pass through Babylon's ruins to the Cedar Forest and reach the Blood Fort deeper in. There Merlin signals Quetzalcoatl, who throws Marduk’s Axe to destroy the temple’s entrance. Seeing the human-filed cocoons inside, Ishtar recognizes the contradiction of Gorgon using something more productive than humans to get revenge on them. Medusa then leads the group to the temple’s depths.[15]

There Ishtar calls Gorgon a fake goddess who couldn’t become one without the Grail’s power. Even with Tiamat’s Authority, Potnia Theron, Gorgon needs other creatures to create Demonic Beasts, unlike the real Tiamat. Tiamat herself would never use humans to get revenge on them. The group then fights Gorgon, with Medusa offsetting her Mystic Eyes with her own. With her defeat, the temple begins to collapse, yet she still lives thanks to her immortality. Medusa slays her with Harpe, seemingly dying in the process. However, the group soon learns Kingu has the Grail when they arrive. After the ensuing fight, spatial rifts suddenly open all over Mesopotamia. Merlin is suddenly injured, having trapped Tiamat in a dream to postpone her revival. She created Kingu with hhe purpose of awakening her. Gorgon gained Potina Theron through synchronization, and with her death, Tiamat has awakened. Tiamat found Merlin in her dreams and severely wounded him. Meanwhile, outside at the Persian Gulf, the sea becomes the Chaos Tide, and a growing horde of Laḫmu emerges. After Kingu leaves, Merlin urges the others to warn Gilgamesh that an Evil of Humanity has awoken before disappearing.[15]

Outside the Blood Fort, the group learns the Lahmu are spreading across Mesopotamia at an incredible rate. Ishtar goes to Uruk at supersonic speed ahead of Ritsuka and Mash. Ritsuka and Mash quickly meet up with her at Uruk, thanks to Quetzalcoatl’s pterosaurs. While she covers them from the sky, the others fight the Lahmu on the ground. The Lahum eventually leaves suddenly, so the group goes to the ziggurat. Ritsuka informs Gilgamesh of Merlin's warning. Gilgamesh explains what the Evils of Humanity are, revealing that Tiamat is one of them. She hasn't fully awakened, though. She is in the blackened sea and the source of the Laḫmu. Not only are they slaughtering Mesopotamia’s population, but they’re kidnapping them as well. Those kidnapped were taken to Eridu, which along with Ur are the Laḫmu’s nest. Gilgamesh initially orders the group to go to the blackened sea. However, he changes it to Eridu after mentioning Siduri was taken there.[16]

The group arrives at Ur to find everyone dead. They head to Eridu, where they find the kidnapped victims gathered in the plaza. They also meet a strange Laḫmu that doesn’t attack them. Ignoring it, the group enters the plaza where they see the Laḫmu forcing humans to kill each other. They kill the Laḫmu to allow the survivors to escape. Kingu arrives and tries to stop the Laḫmu. A Laḫmu then rips the Grail from Kingu’s body. The group tries to take it when the Laḫmu swallows it and grows a pair of wings, becoming Bel Lahmu. The group fights it to prevent it from flying to Tiamat and fully awaking her. Ishtar tries to give chase when the other Laḫmu weigh her down. She has Ritsuka, Mash, and Quetzalcoatl go on without her.[17]

After evacuating Eridu’s citizens to the ziggurat’s basement, Ishtar meets with the others at the Persian Gulf observatory following their failure to stop Bel Lahmu from delivering the Grail to Tiamat. Gilgamesh (contacting the others from Uruk) reveals the sea level rose when Tiamat retrieved the Grail. Once it floods Mesopotamia, it’ll convert the surviving population into Tiamat’s children, destroying the era. The group then returns to the Persian Gulf. There They then fight Tiamat to stop her from launching a blast that will destroy Uruk. They defeat her, only for her true body to emerge from the sea. She then walks towards Uruk, sending waves of the Chaos Tide across Mesopotamia. Understanding Tiamat is invulnerable, the group retreat.[18]

Returning to Uruk, the group learns there are only 500 humans left in Sumer. They learn Tiamat has a paradoxical protection, where she cannot die as long as life exists on Earth. Gilgamesh contacts Ereshkigal and asks her to send Tiamat to Kur, where she’ll be considered the last living being. He orders her to open a gate beneath Uruk. He suggests they hold Tiamat with Gugalanna while Ereshkigal completes her task. However Ishtar reveals she lost Gugalanna, who she was looking for when she first met Ritsuka and Mash. Gilgamesh reprimands her for her incompetence and makes her hold a tablet that reads: "Worst goddess". Realizing they lack a way to combat Tiamat, everyone takes a break.[19]

Later that night, Ishtar speaks with Mash atop the city wall. She is impressed that Ritsuka and Mash don’t see goodbyes as something to mourn, knowing t’s best to rejoice in the fact people met and lived to say goodbye. Calling Chaldea’s Order a good journey, Ishtar understands now why Gilgamesh was so nice to Ritsuka and Mash. She describes how the old him would never make a plan that relies on other people, comparing his current good nature to how he acted with Enkidu. She recognizes Mash still isn’t used to killing or others trying to kill you. Mash isn’t bothered by that anymore, though, as Leonidas once told her she is the type who holds back their fear with courage. Ishtar reveals Rin knew about Chaldea, describing it as weaving together a story of the stars in the sky and this land. She suspects that wish is why she felt she could work with Chaldea, reaching out its hand not to use but to know. She asks Mash if Ritsuka has special feelings for anyone, asking because Ereshkigal seems to be infatuated with them. Her infatuation is closer to imprinting, though, as Ritsuka was the first human who treated Ereshkigal normally. Mash answers she doesn’t know if Ritsuka has anyone special. Ishtar replies that in that case, it’ll be a three-way affair, confusing Mash about who’s involved.[19]

At the Persian Gulf, the group struggle against the corrupted Ushiwakamaru and her clones. She prepares to kill them when Musashibou Benkei grabs her and destroys them both with The Pilgrimage of the Five Hundred Arhat. Quetzalcoatl then uses Piedra Del Sol to incinerate the Chaos Tide in Tiamat’s perimeter. However, it reemerges from Tiamat, and she starts to fly using her horns. Ishtar says they need to return to Uruk and come up with a new plan. Quetzalcoatl replies it’s pointless to go back if they don’t stop Tiamat. Ishtar tells her to use her last resort first if she’s willing to sacrifice herself. But Quetzalcoatl says that would be useless since Tiamat can fly now. This confuses Ishtar, as Tiamat is the goddess of the Earth, unable to go near the heavens. Quetzalcoatl tries to use Xiuhcoatl on her, but she is knocked into the Chaos Tide. Tiamat tries to fly to Uruk when Medusa, now as Gorgon, drags her down with her snakes. While the others retreat, she uses Pandemonium Cetus to destroy Tiamat’s right horn at the cost of her own life. However, Tiamat still flies to Uruk, so the group rush there.[20]

Ishtar firing at Tiamat

Ishtar firing her Noble Phantasm at Tiamat to send her down to Kur.

The group return to Uruk to find Gilgamesh and a few soldiers are the only ones left. They rendezvous with him at Celestial Hill, where they witness the Chaos Tide flow in. Tiamat’s actions horrify Ishtar, who believes Tiamat has gone further than she herself ever did. She wonders if Tiamat hates humans that much. Gilgamesh assumes Tiamat stopped being her old self the moment she turned into a Beast. When Tiamat arrives, Gilgamesh orders Ishtar to stand by in the sky, hover above the clouds directly under the sun. He’ll issue instructions when ready. Ishtar complies and departs, telling Ritsuka to keep a close watch on Gilgamesh. She witnesses the Lahmu clump together and smashes the zigguart’s roof, comparing it to Gugalanna’s hoof. Seeing Gilgamesh still stand standing, but Ristsuka and Mash out cold, Ishtar prepares to scatter the Lahmu and help when Kingu attacks the Lahmu. After Kingu sacrifices themselves to briefly bind Tiamat with the Chains of Heaven, Ereshkigal reports her task is complete, so Gilgamesh orders Ishtar to create a hole to Kur. She launches An Gal Ta Kigal Šè when Tiamat arrives at the ziggurat, killing Gilgamesh, and sending Ritsuka, Mash, and Tiamat down into Kur. (In the anime she joins them in the fight against Tiamat.)[21]

Ishtar cradling Ereshkigal

Ishtar cradling Ereshkigal.

After the Singularity is resolved, Ishtar finds Ereshkigal disappearing from the repercussions of her as the goddess of the underworld helping a living human for free. She tells her to remove the Blessing of Kur before it’s too late, especially since she finally found someone she can talk to. If she gets another chance, Ereshkigal may not have the same personality or memories she has now. Ereshkigal doesn’t mind that as long as Ritsuka doesn’t change their way of thinking, and remembers her.[22]

Ishtar then reunites with Ritsuka and Mash on the surface. Mash finds she isn’t disappearing , so she assumes she’s staying in the era. Ishtar confirms her assumption, saying she’ll stay until the first Uruk dynasty ends. She tells Ritsuka and Mash about her last conversation with Ereshkigal, who is now resting in Kur, and thanks the pair on her behalf. She then asks Gilgamesh why he was in different getup when fighting Tiamat. Gilgamesh answers that was the him at his golden age, summoned by him on the verge of death. Ishtar is shocked when he gives his Grail to Mash before he disappears.[22]

Final Singularity: Solomon[]

Ishtar is amongst the "Babylonia" Singularity Servants to aid Chaldea against the Demon Gods Pillars.[23]. She is seen shooting down the Demon God in animated film.[24]

Summer Event: Dead Heat Summer Race[]

Ishtar tells Ritsuka and Mash that she discovered a new Singularity. She describes the Singularity as a chaotic wasteland ruled by a greedy female tyrant. She tried to resolve it herself, only to discover that the ruler has several Servants in her service. Believing the Singularity could affect the Foundation of Humanity, Mash suggests informing Leonardo da Vinci and planning out an official mission. But Ishtar says that isn't necessary as she already brided some staffers to program the Rayshift for the Singularity. She then claims the Singularity will be resolved if they perform a certain ritual of hers, for which she got permission from Da Vinci. She then hands Ritsuka a flyer and asks them to gather Servants to participate, revealing the ritual is a race: the Ishtar Cup. The race, which will be live-streamed and broadcasted, will be used as a fast and exciting way of carving magical energy into the ground across the Singularity. But racers will be competing in pairs, with each team driving a single-vehicle. For the prize, Ishtar will grant something akin to the Holy Grail. She then leaves Ritsuka's room to pass out flyers and invite Servants to participate.

Eventually, all the racers are recruited, and everyone gathers at the racetrack. Like the racers are, Ishtar is also wearing a swimsuit. Mash asks her about the little creature following her, but Ishtar dodges the questions by claiming it just started following her. Ishtar then shows everyone the ritual tools, which are key to erasing the Singularity, and indicates a team is a legit participant. They’re designed to integrate into the vehicles, and any vehicle trying to race without them is automatically disqualified.

After giving each team their relic, Ishtar brings Ritsuka and Mash into the nearby garage. There she tells them to restock the supplies for the pitstops as needed, adding they'll be her production assistants. Da Vinci is allowing Ishtar to do what she wants in resolve the Singularity since she is funding everything herself instead of using Chaldea's dwindling budget. Ishtar then warns Ritsuka tthat they'll likely have to counter inteference from the Singularity's ruler and her subordinates given how long the race will take. As a reward, she'll enter an official contract with Ritsuka once the race is over.

She, Ritsuka, and Mash then return to the racetrack. Ishtar explains the race's proceedings and gives commentary on each team. She then signals Ritsuka to turn on the starting light for the race. The race begins, with Oda Nobunaga and Mysterious Heroine X being the first team out. Ishtar immediately shoots them down, though, for breaking the rule against flying. She then commentates on the race and its happenings up until the racers fall into a ravine when the bridge leading to the finish line is cut.

Summer Event: Death Jail Summer Escape[]

Ishtar brings Ritsuka and Mash down into ravine, and leaves immediately to avoid contact with the Singularity's ruler, Medb. Then, to avoid war with Medb, she splits herself into seven simplified avatars. One is sent to Ritsuka and Mash, while the rest snuck into the racers' teams when they were sent to Medb's prison. She informas everyone to find a crack in the Prison Field and break out through that. She then decides to link the visual feed of her avatars to the racing stadium, declaring tha the prison break with the next leg of the race. The racers will compete to see which team wil escape and return to the race in their original vehicles first. The time it takes for each team to escape will be reflected in their final results.

Ishtar later finds out Quetzalcoatl is the prison's vice-warden and the source of divine activity she detected earlier. After the racers are sent by back to their cells following a sparring match with Quetzalcoatl, Ishtar relays Ritsuka's adive for them to dig their way out of the prison. Her avatars accompanying the racers then lead them in the general direction of where their vehicles are kept as they dig towards freedom.

However, the racers' tunnels all converge onto Gorgon's cell. Ishtar decides to consider a checkpoint and take each team's arrival time into account when tallying up the results. Gorgon agrees to help the racers escape if they defeat Florence Nightingale, who is going to spray with reptile sanitization spray. After Nightingale is defeated, Nero Claudius determines they can use Gorgon’s acid to clear any obstacles that bar them while digging. But producing acid makes Gorgon, so she'll need a supply of provisions to produce enough acid for each team. Ritsuka eventually smuggles in food for Gorgon. Then, as per their deal, Gorgon spews acid into special containers for each team. Unfortunately, while digging, they discover the Prison Field extends underground. They return to Gorgon's, who seems to be enjoying their predicament, cell. After venting their frustrations, the racers realize they have no choice but to kill Medb to disable the Prison Field. Gorgon reveals there was another prisoner who tried escaping by killing Medb. She defeated them and revealed she has a conceptual weakness to projectile cheese. But Medb is always protected by her warriors. Gorgon reveals Medb always takes a shower in her warden’s office at the same time every day. James Moriarty, Thomas Edison, and Nikola Tesla point out they need someone intelligent as them and Charles Babbage, who also knows the prison’s layout if they want to successfully snipe Medb from outside her bathroom window. Gorgon reveals there is a prisoner who knows everything about the prison, despite being in solitary confinement. She then gives the racers general directions to that person's cell.

They dig into the prisoner’s cell, who turns to be Enkidu in tight restraints. After Minamoto-no-Raikou cuts their restraints, Enkidu asks the racers to spar with them to see if they’re fully functional. The racers agree and spar with Enkidu. Afterward, Enkidu agrees to provide the racers with the necessary calculations. Carmilla arrives to feed them, and attacks everyone after seeing Enkidu unrestrained. After defeating Carmilla, Enkidu, Babbage, Edison, and Tesla make blueprints for the cheese-apult. Building it with materials provided by Ritsuka, the racers use the cheese-apult to assassinate Medb while she’s in the shower. However, Medb kicks the cheese away thanks to training her body to automatically react to incoming cheese. Enkidu reveals there is another way to remove the Prison Field, one they only know of. They reveal the control device for the Prison Field is a stone above the ground. The racers soon realize it’s in the statue of Medb in the courtyard. Enkidu then reveals there is a prisoner who is master of disguise that the racers can use to trick Quetzalcoatl into disabling the Prison Field. The racers then dig their way to the prisoner’s cell.

They arrive in the prisoner's cell, only to find Carmilla there to their shock. They fight her, but in the midst of it, she turns into Nightingale. After being defeated, she reveals herself to be Yan Qing in disguise. He agrees to disguise himself as Medb to trick Quetzalcoatl into disabling the Prison Field in exchange for fighting him. Afterward, he convinces her to disable the barrier underground, allowing the racers to reach their vehicles in the warehouse.

They escape to the outside, but they're met by Medb and Quetzalcoatl. Medb deflects shots X's cheese blaster and decides to execute the racers. She then accuses them of covering Connacht with textures of another place. Ishtar tries to snipe her for saying this, only for the Celtic queen to deflect the shot. Afterward, the racers defeat Medb and Quetzalcoatl, returning to the race once the two disappear.

Once the race is finished, however, an enormous storm moves toward the track as if it has a will of its own. Ishtar reveals this was her plan. Unbeknownst to the racers, their vehicles’ tires were carving magical energy into the Venus textures she placed on the land. She then reveals her temple to be a giant ATM called the Ishtar Quantum Power System. The racers confront her when the relics she had them install in their vehicle are suddenly removed. The relics converge at the Ishtar QPS, which gathers the magical energy expended in the race. At the same time, the relics were storing the heat created by the friction of the racers’ tires running across the Venus textures for each relic to reach an excited state. The purpose of all this was for Ishtar to create a new Gugalanna. After using the relics and the Ishtar QPS to do so, she declares she can use him to destroy the Singularity. Da Vinci points that would work, but it’d also destroy Connacht. The racers then fight Ishtar and Gugalanna before he’s completely formed, but they struggle against him. Ishtar declares that once Gugalanna is complete, she will return to her true self: Inanna, a Ruler Ishtar that is the highest Goddess among goddesses who collects Authority from every other God to use as ornamentation. But then Quetzalcoatl arrives to attack Gugalanna, revealing the her that disappeared before was Yan Qing in disguise.

After she destroys Gugalanna, the racers and the race’s administrative staff get their picture taken by Georgios. Ishtar is made to hold a golden tablet sent in by Gilgamesh. She laments how she lost everything and that there'll be an anti-goddess punishment waiting for her at Chaldea. But Ritsuka decides her punishment will be an official contract with them, Ishtar is relieved to hear her power is still needed, even though she cannot summon Gugalanna. She apologizes and vows to be a proper Servant.

Christmas Event: Merry Christmas from the Underworld[]

Ishtar bursts through the gates up to the last one where Ritsuka and Altera are. She has come to avenge the humiliation she suffered at Ereshkigal's hand by dominating the underworld. She tries to return Ritsuka to Chaldea, saying Ereshkigal will disappear before it succumbs to Sumerian Fever. They refuse, though, despite being told Ereshkigal doesn't remember them. Ishtar then fights them and Altera to test their resolve to enter the Abyss. She is defeated despite her increased power since she was concerned for Ritsuka's safety. She then asks how they'll open the gate and how they opened the previous ones. Altera explains that she gave the gatekeepers presents, which makes them happy. The gate thus considers them saved and open. Altera then gifts Ishtar with a jewel pendant, but the gate doesn't open. Thinking about what would make her happy, Ritsuka gives her an ATM. The gate opens in response. Ishtar wishes she could go with Ritsuka and Altera into the Abyss, but Ereshkigal would only get angry if she saw her. She assures Altera she'll get Ritsuka to safety if things get too dangerous. But she believes they can bring Ereshkigal to her senses.

Battle in New York 2019[]

Other appearances[]

In Fate/EXTRA CCC, although Gilgamesh mentions that he will not use his full power for Hakuno Kishinami, he states an exception would be an Alter Ego using Ishtar as a base. He says BB has likely taken his personality into account when creating them, so it is unlikely for that to happen.

Gilgamesh in Fate/Prototype hates her greatly, describing the sentiment as "Women who are absolutely confident in their good looks are repulsive creatures!" He sees similarities between her and Manaka Sajyou.[25]

Abilities[]

Ishtar is considered the greatest of the Sumerian goddesses. As Inanna, "The Mistress of Heaven", she once ruled the heavens in the god An's place and never lost in a battle of strength.[8] Referred to as a "spoiled goddess" that obtained all she ever desired, even all of Enki's Divinity at one point, she's said to be more impressive than Ereshkigal in terms of raw power.[14] It would normally be impossible to summon her, however, in the Babylonia Singularity she's able to manifest as a Pseudo-Servant by possessing a human extremely compatible with her.[8] As an Archer class servant, her power is logically reduced, however, based on the data Da Vinci saw, Ishtar's incredibly powerful Spirit Origin is extremely close to the real thing.[5][26] As such, Ishtar is able to fight against Mash, Ana and Gilgamesh all at the same time while holding back her Authority.[11] Should her divinity be reduced to 5/7, her power would become that of a low-rank Divine Spirit, however, her bow's destructive power wouldn't decline at all. Only her Magical Energy. At 3/7 she'd be weaker than a gallu.[14] Despite her raw power being so high, in terms of physical strength she is said to be weaker than Gorgon,[8] who had been empowered by the Holy Grail and Tiamat's Authority.[27] She has also been shown struggling against stronger opponents, such as Quetzalcoatl, claiming she could only block her charge one time,[13] or the New Eleven Offspring.[28] While called a Mesopotamian deity, her image is like that of an invader flying in from Venus to attack the Earth. Bibyu.[1][2]

Ishtar is always floating lightly because she is not the “Goddess of Earth”, but the “Goddess of Heaven”.[1] This gives her an advantage over enemies who can't fly as she'll just fly away in her boat the moment they get the upper hand on her.[5] Therefore, her main weapon of choice is the "Boat of Heaven Maanna" (天の舟マアンナ, Ten no Fune Maan'na?), which is both an airship and an enormous bow. Maanna is the boat of the gods that soars across the Mesopotamian World, and it is also an interstellar teleportation stargate (gate) that connects between Earth and Venus, but because she is a Pseudo-Servant, except during the occasion of using her Noble Phantasm, its warp function is normally sealed.[1][2] Maanna was regarded as the fastest object in Mesopotamia, even by Gilgamesh the first time he saw it.[14] Although her bow doesn't possess the overwhelming force of the Demonic Front, it can still be considered a nuisance.[26] Ishtar can also use a spear, but this time, she is sticking to her act as an Archer.[2]

Ishtar's major weakness is Gems. She lacks Golden Rule so despite her love for gems she has no luck when it comes to obtaining them. However, the amount it takes to completely trick her and/or persuade her is usually very high.[8]

Skills[]

Class Skills[]

  • Magic Resistance (A Rank): Nullifies spells of Rank A or below. Modern magi would not be able to wound her with magecraft.[1] Gilgamesh's regular attacks aren't even able to graze her despite her holding back her own Authority.[11]
  • Independent Action (A Rank): The ability to remain independent for a while even when rejecting the Magical Energy supply from one’s Master. At this rank, it is possible for her to remain materialized in this world for a week even without a master.[1]
  • Divine Core of the Goddess (B Rank): A Skill that expresses one being a perfected goddess since birth. It has the effect of preserving the absoluteness of the mind and body. It mitigates almost all mental interferences, prevents the body from growth, and prevents the figure from change no matter how many calories are absorbed. It is a composite Skill that comprises the Divinity Skill. Since she is a Pseudo-Servant, the skill is only ranked B.[1]

Personal Skills[]

  • Shining Great Crown (A Rank): A Skill that imitates even Authorities. A Shining Great Crown that expresses one among the many Authorities of the goddess Ishtar, bringing out various effects.[1]
  • Mana Burst (Gem) (A+ Rank): A Skill that causes an increase of attack power, done by adding excessive Magical Energy to one’s weapon. Originally, Ishtar’s divine energy is practically almighty since she can manipulate it with complete mastery, but perhaps due to the influence coming from her possessed vessel, she became unable to accumulate magical energy on anything but jewels for some reason. It is a powerful Mana Burst (damage intensification) Skill, but because there is the necessary process of charging the jewels before shooting them, its effects will be exhibited after 1 turn from the Skill’s utilization. It is somewhat difficult to use.[1][2]
  • Manifestation of Beauty (EX→B): The formidable charismatic nature one has as a Goddess of Beauty. A power to captivate others. Despite being in a state where it can only work as possession, it already exceeds the domain of men. Naturally, it should be a composite Skill (gauge absorption, curse, Skill sealing) that works with a powerful seduction effect as its core, but the restriction effects towards others were removed due to the strong inclination of the human possessed by her, and it essentially became a simple Charisma Skill. This is the reason the rank has dropped so much.[1][2]

Noble Phantasms[]

Ishtar's main Noble Phantasm is An Gal Ta Ki Gal Šè, the embodiment of her anecdote of trampling down and annihilating the Sacred Mountain Ebih, which was revered and feared even by the King of Gods, simply because she was "displeased" with it.[1][2] When deploying it, Ishtar warps to Venus and takes possession of its concept by means of management rights, loading it like a bullet and firing it from Maanna’s magazine as a conceptual planet.[2] Its power is able to completely destroy Tiamat's "Femme Fatale" form, whose magical energy core contained seven times the magical energy of a Holy Grail and was able to release an amount of energy on the level of a hydrogen bomb.[18] When fighting Enkidu, she's confident about taking them down with this Noble Phantasm even after they get serious and invoke the True Name of Age of Babylon.[29]

Although Gilgamesh has no particular high hopes for her assistance against the other members of the Three Goddess Alliance, her Gugalanna Strike is an entirely different matter. She's not called the "most powerful goddess in Mesopotamia" for nothing,[8] as with this Noble Phantasm Ishtar can temporarily summon the “Bull of Heaven”,[2] viewed as the greatest and strongest Divine Beast whose power would be enough to destroy the world.[30] As the beast that none of the gods could tame, it is theorized that it'd be strong enough to hold Tiamat's "Titan" form on her tracks for a day.[19] A lethal weapon that if used could undoubtedly incinerate a city in an instant.[8] In the Babylonia Singularity she can't use this Noble Phantasm due to her other self summoning it instead.[2][31]

Other Capabilities[]

  • Ishtar's mountain is guarded by multiple demonic statutes she placed there. Each one of them has the magical energy of an A-ranked Servant.[8]
  • Ishtar is an incredible fast thinker. In what seems to be less than two minutes for Ritsuka Fujimaru, she's able to go through an entire psychological adventure for so long that the world could have been destroyed 7 times over. She refers to this ability as "Goddess Time".[8]

Forms and Alternate Versions[]

Swimsuit[]

Ishtar, Goddess of Venus, in summer garb. A summer festival is a state of popular frenzy... Truly a goddess-like goddess, she organized a grand event after being moved by the people's piety. She's also a kungfu-style goddess who moves her body nimbly and thrillingly, and burns rubber on her modernized Boat of Heaven Maanna. Truly a goddess among goddesses who graciously and generously blesses all those gathered at the venue.[32]

What is that smile really hiding? As always, a goddess whose feet don't quite touch the ground. The hoodie apparently covers a white high-leg swimsuit. Goddess Ishtar is a free sprit. Elegant, audacious, and rather cruel. Yet the present-day outfit mitigates slightly her divine nobility and terrifyingness. Merrier and more magnanimous than usual, she's friendly.[32]

Although Ishtar takes an interest in her Master for being a hero with a promising future, she says she's sometimes puzzled, wondering "How come such an average Joe turned out to be a hero?" She thinks of her Master as a curious human. It's because she appreciates her Master's popularity (for having the trust of other Servants) that she hires him/her as a staff member for the current Ishtar Cup, but...?[32]

The Ishtar Cup, a summer festival. It was an enormous ritual for reviving the Bull of Heaven Gugalanna, a familiar of Isthar's. Ishtar lost Gugalanna when disaster struck the Mesopotamian World, meaning a complete loss of face for her. Since then, she must have been waiting vigilantly for a chance at revenge. And what happened this time is a result of that. Goddess Ishtar secretly borrowed a ritual utensil from the Babylonian treasury and converted it into a Holy Grail, with which she spread her Venusian texture upon the soil of ConnachtWP. Her plan was to create Gugalanna once more by having mighty Heroic Spirits offer thanks to the land (by racing across it). Revamping the Temple of Ishtar as a gigantic magical energy resource accumulation circuit was part of this. The Ishtar QPS (Quantum Piece System) is a nightmarish money-collection device that absorbs the magical energy not only of the people, but of the Heroic Spirits as well. The more QP is accumulated, the higher Ishtar's Divinity is raised. This deed truly befits her as a wicked goddess among wicked goddesses.[32]

Abilities[]

The bow used by Ishtar in her Archer form is the detached prow of the Boat of Heaven Maanna, but this time, she has transformed the "oars" of the Boat of Heaven into a scooter that she rides. Appearance-wise, it looks like any modern scooter, but, naturally, its capabilities are goddess-class. It can fly, it can warp. There’s a mysterious creature (Gugalanna Lily) stirring restlessly around Ishtar’s feet all the time, but Ishtar refuses to make any comments about the creature.[32][33]

Anyone who calls herself a goddess is expected to have mastered one or two martial arts... which is obviously not a thing. The reason Ishtar can move so adroitly is because the body she occupied was quite adept at both magic and martial arts. Her current fighting style is her own unique spin on the kungfu learnt by the body. "An Uruk Art! Is there such a thing?" Thus comments the king sun-bathing atop the Ziggurat.[32]

Class Skills:

  • Riding (EX Rank): As someone who can skillfully pilot Maanna the Boat of Heaven, Ishtar’s Riding Skill is exceptional, on a different dimension from humans. Of course, “exceptional” doesn’t necessarily mean “better” or “faster” than humans. Anyways, she is “all sorts of impressive”. Uruk Driving cares little for minor obstacles like time or space.[32][33]
  • Independent Action (A Rank): The ability to operate independently for a while even if she is disconnected from the Master’s mana supply. Combined with the fact she’s a Pseudo-Servant, this means she is pretty much free to act independently in the present world. Staying away from Chaldea from approximately 2 whole weeks to secretly plan and set up her goddess worshipping Event was probably not even difficult for her.[33]

Personal Skills:

  • Divine Core of the Goddess (B Rank): The Skill that shows she is a perfect goddess from birth. It has an effect that preserves the absoluteness of her body and mind. Mental interventions are mostly mitigated, her body never ages, her figure doesn’t change no matter how many calories she intakes. It’s a composite Skill including Divinity. Due to her being a Pseudo-Servant, its rank stops at B. (Passive Skill)[33]
  • Shining Water Robe (A Rank): The Skill of the Great Crown converted into a swimsuit. It buffs the party’s Buster and Quick, and on top of that, raises their NP efficiency. The Great Crown is exclusively for Ishtar’s personal use, but this version is spread through everyone in the party. In exchange, its output is lower.[32][33]
  • Accel Turn (B Rank): An emergency dodge with the Maanna Scooter. The now smaller Maanna seems better at making tight turns, making it possible for it to perform instant dodges. Her gorgeous and graceful evading of her pursuers’ attacks is like that of a Hollywood movie heroine.[33]
  • Summer Breaker! (A→A+ Rank (Upgrade)): The goddess who (in many senses) destroys the summer. She temporarily unleashes her Saint Graph as a goddess and wreaks havoc with it. A watered-down version of the Goddess Metamorphosis Skill that Tamamo no Mae and Kiara have.[32][33]

Noble Phantasm: Ishtar's Noble Phantasm is An Gal Ta - Seven Colors.

Development[]

Creation and Conception[]

Ishtar was designed by Shidzuki Morii in Fate/Grand Order.[1][2] Her scenario writer is Kinoko Nasu in Fate/Grand Order.[1]

Comment from Illustrator[]

"Although Ishtar’s picture was finished up to total completion on one occasion, I felt that 'Hmm… Somehow, I have a feeling that this isn’t it', so I continued overtime work on this even in spite of the picture being completed already; the appearance of my state of being is like saying 'Since that drawing is already accepted, it’s fine, it’s fine', but I went as far as continually dismissing that inside me, and then, I got to accept my drawing, saying '… if it’s this… yeah' after making my third rough sketch, so it was that drawing of Ishtar that I immediately pushed to replace with.

Since the first picture was a hard picture to draw because it fluctuated when I became tense from mental strain, I recalled wondering if it was good. If it is said that, 'as a result of Ishtar being a deity who rules over war, comparatively anything can properly be a reasonable Class for her', it then becomes a strained interpretation of an Archer as well; although, she is a goddess, so I took into consideration a weapon with a form that can work similar to a bow, and I remember wondering boldly what can be something more fascinating for an enormous Noble Phantasm she can carry in her hand. However, that weapon that can work similar to a bow turned out to be something unexpected, 'I’ll make that as Maanna, ok?', and this Maanna was added to the setting afterwards.

By the way, the coloring of Maanna references the gold and blue colors of the Ishtar GateWP. And then, the earrings references a statue of Ishtar. And finally, speaking of the image of Archer regarding Rin Tohsaka… I added a loincloth to her first look. Although she has a lot of skin exposure, considering the Mesopotamian culture and the nature of the goddess Ishtar, this seems to show more skin in this way… right…? I did not think she would have screen time later on in the summer as well… yeah."[1]

"Since this is Ishtar’s Rider version, I wanted to include some Rider aspects in the drawing, so I had various different ideas, like for example, “she’s Rider because she rides on top of a magic circle”. Then I had just as many ideas thinking of dresses and yukatas for when she uses her Noble Phantasm. It was a very fun experience." (Swimsuit ver.)[7]

When used in combat, BB's familiars, the shapeshifters, engulf the target and, after turning into a sphere, are wiped out of existence along with the target and the whole dimension.

Normally, a structure in which sense of values can be shared cannot be created in the Far Side of the Moon, which is an imaginary space. What established BB's internal world as the Sakura Labyrinth was the power of this Noble Phantasm.

    02 - Advanced Level AI
Artificial intelligences configured according to their programs.
In this age, they are treated as things that "function as programs", but "do not exist as actual beings". In other words, things that "are" right in front of your eyes but "are not". They are merely mechanisms for smooth progression of human lives.

The same applies in the SE.RA.PH. They are virtual lifeforms that are created along with the commencement of the Holy Grail War and disposed along with its conclusion.

Humanoid virtual lifeforms at the SE.RA.PH include NPCs that perform single objectives, AIs who have been granted capabilities for self-judgement, and advanced level AIs who have been entrusted with capabilities for self-judgement and management of sections.

Advanced level AIs are beings made to efficiently promote the Moon Cell's primary objective of "human observation". As perfect reproductions of humans, they have been programmed with even souls, but the souls only "exist" and their contents are colorless.

Virtual lifeforms made in the SE.RA.PH are reset with each round of the Holy Grail War. NPCs and AIs return to zero, but advanced level AIs retain just their personas while their records are reset—as if they never existed.

When the Holy Grail War is over, the only one left alive is the Master standing at the top. This applies not only to the Masters but also to the virtual lifeforms made in the SE.RA.PH.

It appears that BB, like Sakura, is an advanced level AI entrusted with management of Masters' health. However, as she is rampaging for reasons unknown, the methods of "managing the Masters" have become extreme.

    03 - Khakkhara of Domination
The teacher's pointer that BB carries.
A device that lets her make full use of her authority as an advanced level AI. Although limited to the Far Side of the Moon, this allows BB to modify the spiritron laws(game rules) within the SE.RA.PH.

"Ten Crowns of Domination" worn by the Beast of Babylon converted into a teacher's pointer.
This is the male principle corresponding to the female principle of the seven-headed beast, and its true nature is a phallus (erect rod).

The symbol of the king of the world who was granted throne and authority by a great dragon and received the right to, for 42 months, spit out as many insolent words as desired and desecrate all things.

The beast's heads were the seven hills of the Roman Empire... Capitolium, Palatium, Aventinus, Esquilinus, Caelius, Quirinalis, Viminalis. In other words, they meant the Roman Empire itself, and the ten horns symbolized the emperors... Augustus, Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius, Nero, Vespasianus, Titus, Galba, Otho, Vitellius.

    01 - C. C. C.(カースド・カッティング・クレーター)

    Skills

    01 - Golden Grail [EX]
The golden grail that BB owns. Also called the Holy Grail.
A negative grail that grants its owner's impudent and selfish wishes.

The grail held by the great whore of Babylon who appears in the Revelation to John. Though it is a fake Holy Grail, it is for that reason that it has become a "genuine" Holy Grail that grants the desires of humans regardless of right or wrong.

To the Christians who considered honorable poverty a virtue at that time, a grail molded from a symbol of wealth like gold no doubt had connotations of corrupt wealth, avarice, and vanity of trying to adorn oneself.

As the grail held by the great whore of Babylon who personifies the Roman Empire, this grail clearly symbolizes treasures on earth, which is the inverse of the Christ's words "Do not store up treasures on earth."

"I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns."

According to the Book of Revelation, this is the description of the beast of destruction that appeared in the Holy City and the woman straddling that beast. A huge beast with sevens heads like a hydra appeared from the sea and landed at the Holy City. This beast and the woman, while two, are as one, and it is impossible to think of them separately.

As the woman was said to give birth to all evil, those who were imprudent or greedy could not resist her allure and became corrupted by that grail.

On a side note, the red Saber who calls herself the emperor was regarded the same as this beast and viewed as an enemy by the believers after her death.

    02 - Self-Modification [EX]
A skill that allows restructuring of oneself.
AIs made by the Moon Cell were given an absolute command: "You must not improve own function."

However, BB, who escaped from that yoke due to her breakdown, began to expand her own functions. To boost her calculation power, she preyed upon/disassembled NPCs, AIs, and finally, Servants with black noise, then used as her own memory.

Though they are like appendix building additions that do not heed self-collapse, as the result, BB has changed into a hyper level AI with enormous capacity.

That condition resembles a city on reclaimed land that continues to build while submerging or Frankenstein's monster.

    03 - Potnia Theron [EX]
    Conception of All Animals(Potnia Theron).
The authority of the goddesses that BB compiled and absorbed from the abyss of the mooncell.

It embodies the power of all creation possessed by the mother goddesses—originating from a forgotten goddess approximately 8000 years ago (the goddess of Çatalhöyük) and branching to Tiamat and Cybele, Ishtar, Inanna, Anat, Astarte, Gaia, Hera, Artemis, Aphrodite, Demeter, Athena, etc.

Many are depicted with mural crowns. This is because many of these goddesses were also guardian deities of cities.

The symbols of this authority include holes opening the earth and the sky (caves and the moon), whirling tides and waterspouts of the sea, calderas of the volcanoes, etc., and from these, evils that bring all manners of death are birthed. However, after these evils have spread death, they promise certain good harvest and fertility. This authority is none other than the power of bringing death as well as giving life.

The earth mother is worshipped by the people and protects them as a guardian deity, but at the same time, she is the very sacrifice that nurtures them with crops born from her body and beasts of the fields and the forests.

The earth mother nurtures men with her flesh and blood, kills men as time passes to restores herself with her own nourishment, and once again nurtures men with her restored flesh and blood.

This process is the cycle of the food chain, and this cycle of life and death can be said to be the true nature of the earth mother. With this authority, most of the goddesses gave birth to countless monsters and giants, posing threats to gods and men, or they gave birth to heroes, thus protecting people.

As representative examples, Tiamat and Gaia became threats, while Hera is a mother of heroes.

Those born on this earth cannot defy the authority of the mother goddess, as that would mean rebelling against the very system of life. However, when they leave this earth, head to space, and end the childhoood as intelligent lifeforms, they will have broken this authority.

The wish of Çatalhöyük is the coming of that day.

    Setting

    01 - Spiritron Imaginary Pit
    Spiritron Imaginary Pit(Cursed Cutting Crater).

The official name of this stage.
Formerly just an imaginary number space for storing malignant information, "this place" was established as a real number space in the present, past, and future by the fact that BB had reached the Moon Cell core. It was reconstructed by her hands into the “far side of the moon” where even Masters can exist.

With the power of the primordial goddess at hand, BB succeeded in quantifying the "nothingness" before the birth of life. She transformed into the master of the imaginary number space where both time and space and ambiguous.

Although the Moon Cell cannot be hacked no matter how much time is taken, BB took over it by placing herself in "unlimited time".

02 - The remnants of peaceful days
During the preliminaries, when Kiara liberated her free will, she was unable to control that status condition and went into overload.

Since NPCs can only do routine work, they ignored self-destructing Sakura as something "non-existent", and since the Moon Cell's check only takes place at the end of the day in the preliminaries, Sakura was at risk of termination.

Witnessing this condition, [Kishinami Hakuno] called out to her, "Are you okay."

The observation that she "is here" by another let Sakura recover the unconscious on the verge of termination, and due to the nursing afterwards, she gained an ego that clearly "wanted to be here". Her self-termination was averted.

What happened afterwards no longer need to be said.
When the next day comes, everything will be erased by the Moon Cell. Wanting to continue this one day miracle, Sakura used her advanced AI privilege to repeat "the day she came to know [Kishinami Hakuno]" for 69 days.

However, as days passed, Sakura became distressed by her self-contradiction as an AI and the facts surrounding [Kishinami Hakuno].

"Masters participating in the Holy Grail War will all die except one. No, to begin with, [Kishinami Hakuno] is..."

Sakura continued to be distressed by her selfish desire to continue the loop for eternity and her feelings for [Kishinami Hakuno]. In conclusion, she chose to seal the 69 days worth of memory... the "love" she acquired, so she could return to being a normal AI. AIs cannot delete records. Because of that, she moved the memory to a backup frame to reset herself.

She believed that to be the most correct choice for [Kishinami Hakuno].

But even if recollections of the mind are lost, memories recorded by the body live on. Though she should have forgotten everything and returned to being a normal AI, she was shaken by unidentified emotional values every time she talked with [Kishinami Hakuno].

Meanwhile, the backup to whom the memories were transplanted couldn't tolerate herself like that, and she decided to act as BB the rebel who destroys the Moon Cell's system for a certain objective then made her move.

The timing when she seized the Far Side of the Moon was "the Holy Grail War: the end of fifth round ~ before the start of the sixth round". The four who were not eliminated yet—[Kishinami Hakuno], Leo, Rin, and Rani—and the irregular, Jinako, were kidnapped to the Far Side in the middle of the Holy Grail War while they were still alive.

Masters Matou Shinji, Gatou, and Julius were moved to the imaginary space "0.00001 seconds before" the moment the firewall terminated them after their defeat from the Holy Grail War, prolonging their instants of life.

In either case, C. C. C. is a dream by BB. If the dreamer disappears, the world ought to return to the reality where nothing happened.

On a yet another side note, everyday scenery of the prologue that [Kishinami Hakuno] saw in the nightmare was an artificial paradise modeled on the discarded 69 days.

After pulling [Kishinami Hakuno] to the Far Side, BB placed the digital body in the old school building, put it in a deep sleep, and locked them in an unwaking dream.

Normally, they would have lived peacefully in the looping everyday life, but the strong bond with their Servant or [Kishinami]'s will rejecting the peaceful everyday caused cracks in the artificial paradise, and [Kishinami Hakuno] came to notice the abnormality.

To put [Kishinami Hakuno] in a deep sleep once more, BB reset the school building and tried to remake the dream, but [Kishinami Hakuno] escaped the reset as well and leaped into an even deeper part of the imaginary space.

It was a bottom deeper than the bottom of Id. "Death of the collective unconscious" beneath the unconscious. What saved [Kishinami Hakuno] who leaped into a region even BB cannot reach was the voice of the Servant whose fate was shared with theirs.

Thus, the contract was sealed, and [Kishinami Hakuno] woke up in the old school building left in the Far Side.

    Keywords

Enuma Elish (The Star of Creation That Split Heaven and Earth)
Gilgamesh's final Noble Phantasm which reveals creation--the beginning of everything.
The severing of space which comes from the Sword of Rupture, Ea, the sword crowned with the name of a god from Mesopotamian mythology.
The god, Ea, is believed to be the quasi-deification of the power of the planet which turned, smashed, and stabilized the surface of the earth when it was still covered in gas and seas of magma, during the primordial stage of the earth.
Many gods began building nations after the the primordial earth was stabilized into a world where living creatures could live, but Ea is a god who performed the act of building of planet before that.
Gilgamesh's sword, which is crowned with Ea's name, changes space itself by agitating space-time through the rotation of three layers of giant power fields.
It's true power is not something to be used against a single living creature but against the world. Even among the many Noble Phantasms possessed by Servants, it is one considered to be at the top, the sword "which tore apart the world."

    King of Heroes
Another name for Gilgamesh. It does not mean a king who is a hero but is used with the implication that he is the king over heroes.
The story of Gilgamesh, is who mankind's oldest hero, is copied within the mythologies of all the countries of the world. The origin of all myths, the model on which heroes are based...calling him such would not be an exaggeration.
More or less, the heroes of various myths are derived from Gilgamesh's legend. As such, Gilgamesh possesses the prototypes of the Noble Phantasms that heroes carry... the original treasures from before every legend was arranged. Though it may be a paradox, unless the original, Gilgamesh, possesses it, it cannot be handed down as the Noble Phantasm possessed by the later heroes who were derived from him.
When humanity was still small. Within the treasury of the king, who governed his kingdom and lived in as much luxury as he desired, was collected every single treasure in the world.
Inside that treasury, there is the treasured swords that saved later heroes, and there is preserved the cursed swords that stole the lives of heroes.
The reason that Gilgamesh is called the King of Heroes is here. Noble Phantasms are primarily one to a any single hero. Not only does he possess an approximately infinite amount of them, he also owns the "legends" that other heroes are wake against, as if it were natural. It should be impossible for an average hero to cross swords with him.
As a Heroic Spirit, he is an absolute warrior in battles against Heroic Spirits. While there are several heroes who hold the title of king, such as the King of Knights and the King of Conquerors, but in regards to being crowned with the title "King of All Heroes," in all of heaven and earth, he is the only one.

    Friend
As he became a young man, Gilgamesh's violent disposition only grew. Of course the people of Uruk, but even the gods who dispatched him, were greatly perplexed by his violence.
"Gilgamesh is not fulfilling his original role." "That insolent creature needs someone to admonish him."
Having come to that conclusion, the gods sent a single life to the surface. Its name was Enkidu. It was a person made by a god and given her blood, the same as Gilgamesh.
It had neither a sex nor a fixed form. Enkidu, being made from clay by a god, was "Uruk's greatest weapon," able to change its shape at will. According to the god which was its mother's will, Enkidu confronted Gilgamesh before the temple of Uruk. With their exchanging of blows like a storm, their battle occurred within the city.
After that fierce fighting, they both collapsed to the ground without consideration for where, praised each other's valor, and became peerless friends.
Gilgamesh, who had been without equal, for the first time found someone he could call "a friend."
After that, while his vainglorious attitude did not change, Gilgamesh, remonstrated by Enkidu, softened his tyranny.
Gilgamesh, who had acquired someone who understood him in Enkidu, defeated the guardian of the forest and beast of the gods, Humbaba, and, as the most excellent king on the earth, took possession of every single treasure.
At this time, the dazzlingly powerful Gilgamesh was an existence that not even the gods could avert their eyes from.
A goddess fell in LOVE with this Gilgamesh. It was the goddess of fertility Ishtar. She proposed to Gilgamesh, but he quickly refused. Because he knew that how whimsical and cruel a witch who rendered men useless Ishtar was.
Ishtar, enraged by Gilgamesh's insults, as her revenge, clung to her father, the god Anu, in tears and released the greatest of divine beasts, "the Bull of Heaven," onto the earth.
"The Bull of Heaven" is a disaster of extreme magnitude clad in storms. When it appeared, a seven-year famine and destruction occurred on earth. In other words, the downfall of Uruk.
Against this divine beast which none could match, Gilgamesh and Enkidu worked together to stand against it and repelled it splendidly. Once again, the goddess lost face. Naturally, Isthar's rage had not lessened, and she requested death for either of the two of them from the gods. Because for one with a human body to kill the beast of the gods was a sin.
Ishtar's wish was granted, and one of the two, Enkidu, who was created by the gods, unable to defy that decree, slowly weakened and died.
...The sole person who understood the king, Enkidu. Just how large a shadow his loss cast over Gilgamesh is told in his lifetime afterward.
Enkidu is an autonomous weapon created from the clay of the gods. In SE.RA.PH. terms, he is close to an AI. As a result of being complete from birth, he neither grows nor evolves. He could take various forms as needed, but it is said his usual appearance was that of a 16-year-old person who could be seen as a girl or a boy with long hair which faintly shines a light-green color.

    SE.RA.PHで言うのならAIに近い。

    Skills

    01 - Divinity [B (A+)]
A judgement regarding whether or not one's body possess the property of being divine.
Though he possesses the greatest rank of divine spirit aptitude, Gilgamesh himself hates the gods, so the rank has gone down.

    02 - Golden Rule [A]
Not the bodily golden ratio, but one's destiny in regard to how much money follows one around in life.
At rank A, it's possible to call it a soul of gold. With this Goldy attitude, even while living like a multimillionaire, he won't have any money troubles during his life.

    03 - Collector [EX]
The ability to acquire items of higher quality. It's the good luck of frequently obtaining even rare items, but because it only applies to Gilgamesh himself, it does not bless the Master.
Gilgamesh is a collector of treasure. "I collected all the treasures of the earth," is Gilgamesh's favorite phrase, but that is not a metaphor. He collected and stored away a sample of all the technology that was developed during his age and sealed them.
That which Gilgamesh stored, rather than being treasure, is "the origin of the intelligence of mankind" itself. If it does not exist in Gilgamesh's treasury, then it is "something produced by a new breed of humanity, according a completely new concept," "something made from the technology of the culture born from the intelligent life from another heavenly body," one of the two.
For that reason, of course he has airplanes and submarines. The desires of the people from before Christ are not different, and it would not do for the crafts of ancient times when magic was in good health to be inferior to the crafts of the modern age. People generally realize the "tools of hope" that they dream of, and each time that occurs, it ended with them being confiscated by the king's hand.
The offensive skill Gilgamesh uses, "Gate of Babylon," shoots the treasure he collected like this like arrows. The gate to the golden capital opens, and his treasures are shot out from his treasure cellar.
This is a digression, but after the Noble Phantasms that are shot out are used, regardless of how far it has gone, it turns to Gilgamesh's treasure cellar. "Hah. I possess a Noble Phantasm which excels at the task of retrieval," says the person himself.

    01 - 神性 [B(A+)]

    02 - 黄金律 [A]

    Setting

    Source
The demigod king who ruled over the Sumerian city-state of Uruk in the time before Christ. Not just a legend but also a real person, the king written of in mankind's oldest epic, "The Epic of Gilgamesh."
Possessing great divinity as two-thirds god and one-third human, without anyone to match him in this world, he was perfected as a transcendent being who attained everything in the world.
In his childhood, he was adored by the people as the ideal ruler, but as he grew, possible due to being treated as almighty, his consideration for the people waned, and he came to rule Uruk with absolute power.
However, simply being oppressive does not make one a tyrant, he made Uruk prosper properly, found a friend he could speak with, and in personally subjugating the phenomena that would harm the people, that heroic quality cannot be doubted.
He is the heroic figure who defeated the bull so large it was cloaked in the heavens and rendered the civilization of this fortified Sumerian city unshakeable.
The following is historical fact, which differs from "The Epic of Gilgamesh." According to a fragment of an inscription found in an archaeological excavation of the historical ruins of this Sumerian city, Uruk was a city-state that existed on the shore of Persian south of Mesopotamia, and he was the fifth king of that city's first dynasty. It obtained assets through ocean trade and subjugated the region of southern Mesopotamia. He was victorious in the fight against Aga, king of the Kish who controlled the north made strong the city-states of Sumer. However, as a result the reckless deforestation of the woods due to the building of ships, their agricultural land was destroyed.
For that reason, Gilgamesh, seeking the giant tree, the Lebanon Cedar, launched an expedition all the way to far-away Phoenicia (modern day Lebanon), fought against the people of woods, called Humbaba, gained victory against them, and brought that massive tree back with him.

    Source
According to "The Epic of Gilgamesh," it seems that Gilgamesh, after the loss of Enkidu, fell into depression, his previous vigor gone.
The fact that Enkidu, whose strength had not been inferior to Gilgamesh's own, could die, was the shock that Gilgamesh received.
Gilgamesh, who was tormented over anxiety of death, finally set off on a trip to the realm of the death in search of perpetual youth and eternal life.
It was said that there lived a sage who had lived since placing a large amount of animals upon an ark before the coming of a deluge that assailed the earth.
This sage was said to be the only one of the earth escape from death and live until the present. Seeking him, Gilgamesh set across wilderness alone.
At the end of that long journey and many hardships, Gilgamesh finally managed to reach the realm of the dead. There, he met the sage, Utnapishtim, spoke with him, and in the end, Gilgamesh attained the spirit herb of perpetual youth and eternal life.
Gilgamesh came to rise above the "death" that had taken even Enkidu.
His heart's desire fulfilled, during his triumphant return to Uruk, Gilgamesh stopped by a spring. He cleansed himself; it seems he wanted to test the fruits of his labor while in perfect condition.
However. While he was bathing, unexpectedly, a snake with an empty stomach sniffed out the smell of the spirit herb of perpetual youth and eternal life.
By the time he noticed, it was too late. Panicked, Gilgamesh emerged from the spring, all that remained there was the skin that snake had shed.
Having lost the spirit herb of perpetual youth and eternal life in this way, Gilgamesh was irritated for a long interval, but afterwards, he made his way back to his own castle, Uruk.
While the Gilgamesh after this was severe, he ruled his state quietly, entrusted to to the next king, and went to his eternal rest.
Without telling anyone of the whereabouts of the spirit herb of perpetual youth and eternal life.
Mankind's oldest king of heroes, Gilgamesh. Discord with the gods, the journey for the perpetual youth and eternal life, a deluge which covered the world. In that epic is the basis of every legend.
The truth of his epic poem, which has many uncertain points concerning fine details exists on the other side of the veil of romance placed upon it by the present day.
This is another digression, but the snake is reborn with a new body every time it sheds its skin because it stole and ate Gilgamesh's spirit herb... is what is said. It seems that the way the snake goes about its life appeared to the ancient people as a kind of perpetual youth and eternal life that was not available to humans.

Comment from Takeuchi Takashi: The basic design is the same as the Archer from Fate/Stay Night. The design for the armor was based off of the design from Fate/Stay Night, and integrated more of a Mesopotamian-influenced style. The twin swords on his back are quite cool.

Explanation: The most self-centered person in the world. However, he doesn’t have the same kingly temperament as the Gil from Fate/Stay Night, and is a man who is not unable to read the situation. Because of his Master’s influence, he became a Servant accustomed to the modern society. (*His Master is the owner and president of a building tall enough to overlook the entire city) Instead of the Holy Grail, he is more interested in establishing himself as the strongest of Heroic Spirits. Though his personality is callous, he is not an evil person. Thus, he sees the Servant who ranks above him, Saber, as a formidable opponent, and falls in love with the glasses-less Ayaka. What do you mean, shoujo manga? Just like in Fate/Stay Night, he is the king of Uruk, the hero from humanity’s most ancient epic, Gilgamesh. His Noble Phantasms are Bab=Ilu (The tattoo that identifies him as king, which is the key to opening his treasury – that is, Fate/Stay Night’s Gate of Babylon) as well as the sword Enki. Enki is a sword that can summon floods, and after it is deployed the volume of water increases daily. After seven days, it becomes a giant tsunami. It is called the Flood of Utnapishtim.
Because he sees similarities between ■■ and Ishtar, he detests her bitterly. “Women who are absolutely confident in their good looks are repulsive creatures!”

Goddess of Venus Ishtar, her summer guise.
She held a grand event after having been impressed by the wild enthusiasm... devotion of people towards summer festivals - truly a goddess-like goddess. Driving the Heavenly Boat Maanna that has been rearranged to a modern style, she is also a kung fu-type goddess who casually, and thrillingly, makes free use of her body.

“Hey everyone, are you all having a fun time~~!? The best~~?
Yeah yeah, that’s good, that’s good!
Please keep at it more and more, until your limit okay~!”

Just like this, cordially and generously, she blesses all those who gathered on the venue - truly a goddess among goddesses.

Now, what exactly lies behind that smiling face.

    Alignment: Lawful Good Gender: Female
As usual, a fickly goddess who does not keep her feet on the ground. Seems that she has a white, high-leg swimsuit underneath that hooded jacket.

    Level 2 Bond
Describe as freewheeling, elegant and bold, and cruel.
The same Goddess Ishtar, but by changing into modern clothes, her haughtiness・dreadfulness as a goddess has softened just a little.

It is only natural for a goddess to have learned one or two forms of hand-to-hand combat... of course that is not the case.
The reason why Ishtar can move so skillfully is because the body that became her vessel has properly learned both magecraft and martial arts.
Her battle style at this occasion is the kung fu that said body had learned rearranged into Ishtar’s own style.
“Uruk Arts! Is there even such a thing?” - such was the comment from a certain king that was sunbathing on top of a ziggurat.

    Level 3 Bond
    "Heavenly Peak-Visiting Rainbow of Venus"
Rank: EX Type: Anti-Unit Range: 0~??
    An Gal Tā Seven Colors.
Since Maanna has turned into a modern vehicle, the True Name was also converted into a modern style.
Her style is to enjoy summer with all her might.
A rainbow Noble Phantasm that is said to convert her happy feelings (acquired by getting merrier while riding on the Maana Scooter and sightseeing various resorts around the globe) into magical power and scattering it across the world’s surface.
Fair even after changing clothes, the magical power that rains incessantly over the surface turns into glittering stars and bestow damage to enemies.
The concerned person feels very happy and fabulous, but this is a big nuisance for those on the surface.

    Level 4 Bond

    • Riding: EX

Capable of fully managing the Heavenly Boat Maanna, Ishtar’s Riding skill is extraordinary, on a whole different level than that of humans.
Of course, just because it is “extraordinary”, that does not mean it is “better・faster” than humans. At any rate, it is “amazing in many different ways”. An Uruk Drive that no longer cares much about things such as time and space.

    • Shining Water Garments: A

A skill that changed the Great Crown into a swimsuit.
The Great Crown was something that would only affect Ishtar herself, but this can be spread throughout the entire party. In exchange, the output is low.

    • Summer Breaker!: A

A goddess that breaks (in many different ways) the summer.
A downsized version of Goddess Metamorphosis.

    Level 5 Bond
The bow that Archer Ishtar uses is the detached prow section of the Heavenly Boat Maanna, but this time, she changed the “oar” section of the Heavenly Boat into a scooter and is employing it as a vehicle. Its outward appearance is just like that of a modern scooter, but its performance is naturally goddess-class. It flies on the sky and even undergoes warp.
An enigmatic creature is constantly squirming about by Ishtar’s feet, but Ishtar maintains a “no comment” policy in regards to said creature.

Although she is keeping an eye on the Master that saved Uruk as a hero with a promising future, there are also times when she tilts her head in confusion thinking “how can such a pedestrian become a hero?” She is perceiving him/her as a curious human.
On this occasion, she employed him/her as a staff member of the Ishtar Cup out of expectations for his/her popularity (having the trust of the Servants), but...?

    Interlude
Will she ever learn her lesson?

    Summer festival, Ishtar Cup.
That was a great ceremony for the sake of resurrecting Ishtar’s familiar, the Bull of Heaven Gugalanna.
After having her reputation completely ruined by losing Gugalanna on the day when a calamity struck the Mesopotamian world, Ishtar probably has been vigilantly waiting for a favorable chance to get revenge.

And the result is what we see at this time.
I will say it again. Will she ever learn her lesson?

The Goddess Ishtar converted the precious ritual tools she secretly borrowed from the treasury of Babylon into a Holy Grail, pasted the texture of Venus over the land of Connacht with its power, and then planned to create Gugalanna once more by having powerful Heroic Spirits offer their gratitude (race) over the earth.
Remodeling the Ishtar Temple into a giant prana resources accumulation circuit(1) was also a part of this. The Ishtar QPS (Quantum-piece Power System) is a devilish money collection installation that sucks prone not only from people, but also Heroic Spirits, making it her own. The more QP is collected, more Ishtar’s divine rank goes up. That deed is truly that of an evil deity among evil deities.

    (1) probably irrelevant, but the original Japanese text uses the same term for ‘integrated circuit’ here
