Haku (ハク?) is a character appearing in Fate/Grand Order.
Profile[]
Background[]
His true identity is of the Holy Grail that appeared in Chitose Mine in HokkaidoWP, Japan. But when Sitonai materialized in the resulting Singularity, her vessel's connection to the cursed gold Das Rheingold caused the Grail to turn into gold. As a result, the Grail became the very embodiment of greed and gained the properties of both Fafnir and Moshirechikuchiku Kotanechikuchiku (モシレチクチク・コタネチクチク?), the demon of darkness from the Ae-oyna-kamuy, as well as Kamuy's Gold.
Appearance[]
Personality[]
While pretending to be Shuten-douji‘s cute animal familiar, Haku came across as rude and was irritated by her calling him Spot occasionally. His true nature, of course, is that of pure avarice, even considering himself to be greed itself. As long as intelligent creatures harbor greed and desire, he will never fade away and only continue to grow. Even in the throes of death, Haku believed humanity would never be rid of him and he would rise up again.

Halloween Event: The Mysterious Country of ONILAND!![]
When an amnesiac Elizabeth Bathory found herself in Chitose Mine, the voice of Kamuy’s Gold spoke to her and gave her gold fragments with which to fulfill to her desires. The gold then covered Elizabeth’s body, forming her Great Oni disguise. Elizabeth would then use the gold fragments to create Oniland, a safe and secure amusement park run by oni created from her magical energy, where human and oni alike can play together, so she may fulfill her desire not to be alone and to sing for everyone. Chaldea’s Servants would also be called to the park for them to enjoy. Through the park’s attractions, Kamuy’s gold fed off everyone’s desires and magical energy, allowing it to grow.
Kamuy’s Gold later made itself an animal-like creature to act as the personification of its will. Shuten-douji, whose Spirit Origin changed into Caster upon arriving in Chitose, captured the creature and assumed it was a Demonic Beast. The creature identified himself as Haku and claimed he wanted to help the magifender oni. Finding no reason not to believe him, Shuten took him as her familiar to make her Magifender Girl schtick more authentic.
She and Haku then went around helping Ritsuka’s party defeat the Gold Servants (the attraction managers), leaving once Sitonai collected the gold fragments.
When Ritsuka’s party is struggling against the Great Oni, Shuten arrives to help, with Haku suggesting they remove the gold from the Great Oni’s possession. With Shuten’s spell supporting her, Sitonai removes all the gold and with it Elizabeth’s Great Oni. Possessing no memory of Chaldea or even her past, Elizabeth attacks the group for interfering with her concert. The gold soon reforms her Great Oni shell as she declares her desire to sing for everyone, which is why she needs Oniland. Her memories are eventually restored, though, thanks to Sitonai's memory restoration spell. She is also freed off the gold's hold on her and is returned to normal. Sitonai collects the gold, the last of it that was used to create Oniland, and prepares to take the gold back to Chitose Mine and return it to the leyline. But Haku steals the gold and runs off with it.
Ritsuka, Ibaraki-douji, Sitonai, and Shuten follow his trail to Chitose Mine, where Sitonai is surprised to see there is still so much gold still left. But Haku corrects her, revealing the gold grew by feeding on the desire of Oniland’s customers. He also vaguely admits to being the one that persuaded Elizabeth to create Oniland. His greed has now transformed him, or rather Kamuy’s Gold, into a golden Fafnir.
During the ensuing battle, Sitonai realizes one of Haku’s true identities is Moshirechik Kotanechik and confesses her materialization caused the gold to manifest. Sherlock Holmes explains why it happened: Sitonai's vessel of Illyasviel, due to the Einzbern family's connection to the cursed gold Das Rheingold, caused the Grail to turn into gold and become Das Rheingold, becoming connected to the Evil Dragon Fafnir and becoming the very embodiment of greed. Furthermore, due to Sitonai's presence, it also connected itself with Moshirechikuchiku Kotanechikuchiku (モシレチクチク・コタネチクチク?), the demon of darkness from the Ae-oyna-kamuy, and obtained its attributes along with the properties of Kamuy's Gold, the latter of which has the ability to attract anyone's gaze and assemble everyone in one spot, which let it summon Chaldea's servants to Oniland, as well as to feast on the magical energy of others in order to multiple its amount of gold. Combined with Das Rheingold, it can increase the mana and power of the Grail by increasing its hoard of gold, which it grows by both drawing mana from the leylines and from encouraging the greed and desires of Oniland's customers who were summoned by Kamuy's Gold, allowing it to become enormous and form a giant golden Fafnir with which it plans to consume all greed and desires.
Sitonai confirms Sherlock's explanation and apologizes for causing everything. Ibaraki gives Sitonai a pep talk and says her only concern now is killing the golden dragon before them. Haku calls oni greedy creatures and chides the species for not caring what happens to the world as long as their desires are fulfilled, saying “so much for your vaunted magnificence”, and declares he will consume all desires. Mochizuki Chiyome then arrives with all the Servants in Oniland to help take down Haku. Haku is unconcerned, though, declaring he will never fade away and only continue to grow as long as intelligent creatures harbor greed and desire. He further declares that no Servant constrained by magecraft could ever hope to defeat him. Then, to Sitonai’s elation, Heracles arrives to join the battle, even though his Spirit Origin wasn’t in Oniland. Haku questions how one Servant can make a difference, but Sitonai interrupts him and declares Berserker to be the strongest. The battle against Haku then continues.
Though mortally wounded, Haku declares humanity will never be rid of him and he will rise up in Chitose again. He is then finished off by Gilgamesh’s Gate of Babylon. Afterward, Sitonai collects the gold and disappears with it, so it can not become like Rheingold ever again. However, she is able to forge the leftover gold collected from Oniland into a regular Holy Grail for Chaldea to take.
Abilities[]
Haku, due to one of his true identities being Moshirechikuchiku Kotanechikuchiku (モシレチクチク・コタネチクチク?), is a Divine Spirit from the same place as Sitonai.[1] A Holy Grail manifested from absorbing the magical energy of a nearby leyline before taking on the form of Kamuy's Gold due to the presence of Sitonai,[1] turning the Holy Grail into gold from the abandoned Chitose gold mine in HokkaidoWP and creating a tiny minute Singularity.[2] Although it is considered uncertain whether Sitonai was summoned first or the Singularity was, what is certain is that Sitonai's presence turned the Grail into Kamuy's Gold. Sitonai's mission upon being summoned was to return the gold and magical energy back to the leylines, but the very deep connection her host, Illyasviel, had to both the Das Rheingold and Holy Grails caused the Kamuy's Gold Grail to take on the properties of the former. Manifesting as a dragon, it took advantage of an amnesiac Elizabeth Báthory and manipulated her to the gold hoard in order to grow by feeding on desires.[2][3][1]
As an avatar of the gold's will, he has the combined powers of a Holy Grail, Fafnir, Moshirechikuchiku Kotanechikuchiku, Das Rheingold and Kamuy's Gold.[1] It and has the ability to attract anyone's gaze and assemble everyone around it, which let it summon many of Chaldea's servants to Oniland,[4] as well as the capability to feast on the magical energy of others in order to multiply its amount of gold.[1] Combined with the Grail and Das Rheingold, which can trap people with its great wealth and cause people misfortune due to their greed,[5][1] it can grow the power and magical energy of the Grail by increasing its hoard of gold,[1] which it does by both drawing mana from the leylines and magical energy from those around it,[6] as well as from encouraging the greed and desires of Oniland's customers who were summoned by Kamuy's Gold, allowing it to become enormous.[1] It is so powerful that small fragments of the gold were noted to be overflowing with magical energy to the point where they were distorting space,[4] and bits split off of a single large fragment were used to create most of the Oni that were employees at Oniland. As long as the magical energy lasts, Oniland will keep growing larger and gaining more employees.[6] Sitonai was able to create another Grail using only some leftover fragments of the larger hoard collected from the customers.[1]
It is shown able to summon multiple Oni, including multiple large and powerful Oni, in proportion to the size and power of the fragment,[4] as well be used to create forgeries of Chaldea's Servant's Saint Graphs through an accumulated concentration of magical energy; a Servant's empty shell with fragments of gold as its core.[4] They can even create forms of other creatures like a "Gold Oni" that can then later copy the form and appearance of other Servants.[7] Although the Servant's shell does affect them somewhat, the true measure of power is the size of their gold portion; the larger the gold is, the more magical capacity they have.[7] These Servants can use their gold cores to draw from the desires of others, even the envy and jealous of people from around the world and across time or the ambition of their opponents, to empower themselves and become many times stronger than normal or even cause an Ascension of their Saint Graph.[8] And just like a regular Grail, it can chose to supply magical energy to certain individuals, empowering them with the power of a Grail; this is done when a regular Servant has a shell out of gold formed around themselves, the opposite of the gold's fake Servants. This shell of gold can even be reassembled if broken into pieces, provided the wearer holds onto their desires and ambition.[9][10]
By feeding off the desires and magical energy of numerous humans, Onis and Heroic Spirits[10] in order to grow and become an embodiment of Greed, it allowed Haku to transform into a giant golden Fafnir, created from the accumulated gold, by feeding on the gold's own avarice, with which he planned to consume all greed and desires.[3][1] The Golden Dragon states that as long as long as intelligent creatures harbor greed and desire, he will never fade away, and he will only continue to grow and propagate. For Kamuy's Gold is the very manifestation of human desire, and so can never be exhausted.[7][1] It took the combined might of all the Servants summoned to Oniland fighting him, as well as the surprise summoning of Heracles and a final attack from Gate of Babylon, for the Golden Dragon to be defeated.[1]
