Fabro Rowan (フォアブロ・ロワイン, Foaburo Rowain?) is a member of the Ganne workshop of the Wandering Sea. In Fate Worlds, the title of Dead Apostle Ancestor does not exist, and he has remained in the Wandering Sea as a Human Magus unlike his Tsukihime World counterpart, Nrvnqsr Chaos.
Profile[]
Background[]
Originally, Fabro Rowan was a human living in the Common Era. He was selected to join the Wandering Sea around 1000 AD and passed behind Ganne, Gate of Rebirth, one of the Wandering Sea's Five Gates.[1]
Appearance[]
Fabro retains a similar appearance to his Dead Apostle self, but he wears a "somewhat alien outfit" rather than the cloak his counterpart wears.[2]
Personality[]
Role[]
Fate/Grand Order[]
Event: Non-Primate Lebensraum Tunguska Sanctuary[]
Fabro studied Sion Eltnam Sokaris in Parallel Worlds, coming to learn of her inevitable end in various world lines.[2]
As U-Olga Marie prepares to destroy the Wandering Sea of the present, Fabro emerges from behind the Gate of Rebirth to invite Sion Eltnam Sokaris to join the Wandering Sea on his mentor's behalf, but she declines the offer. Before he leaves to return to the true Wandering Sea, he wishes her luck in the restoration of Human Order.[1]
Abilities[]
Fabro is a normal human Magus in comparison to his Dead Apostle counterpart in Tsukihime Worlds, but he seems has achieved some way of slowing down or stopping his aging. Through the workshop, he is able to view Parallel Worlds and utilize vast amounts of Magical Energy, such as would be needed to destroy an entire continent.[1][2]
Development[]
Creation and Conception[]
Fabro Rowan was illustrated by Takashi Takeuchi in Fate/Grand Order.
It had been a long time since Takeuchi drew Nrvnqsr Chaos, and for his appearance in GO it was decided that being naked under his coat as he was in Tsukihime probably wasn't appropriate for GO's audience. Takeuchi thought "Why not give him a more sci-fi look?" and tested out a somewhat alien outfit.[2]

Nasu Famitsu interview Nasu: He's a normal mage. Although his body is very close to unaging. The Wandering Sea mage was there for fanservice, and because we had to show what he looked like since it wouldn't be very nice to keep him on his voice-only appearances forever.
Famitsu: How long has Takeuchi gone without drawing him?
Takeuchi: Really, really long. Nrvnqsr Chaos was known for being naked under his cloak, but I don't think that would roll well with FGO's current audience. That's when I thought "Why not give him a more sci-fi look?" and tested out a somewhat alien outfit. It was everything we needed. We ultimately made him fit in without straying too far away from his Tsukihime incarnation.
Famitsu: He referred to Sion as the "Bird of the Netherworld". Does that mean he knows what happens in other timelines?
Nasu: He observes parallel worlds, so he should know. He knows that that's a transformation that happens in every timeline when Sion's life reaches its end.
Famitsu: FGO's Sion is a hematophage but not a vampire, right?
Nasu: It's a matter of life choices. "Bird of the Netherworld" here doesn't mean she'll get her boss design, it means that she will always hold on to the associated beliefs in the moment of her death.”
