Lord BoggartWP (ボガード様, Bogāto?) is the Lord of Sheffield (シェフィールドの領主?) in the British Lostbelt in Fate/Grand Order.
Profile[]
Background[]
Boggart is the leader of Sheffield in the English Lostbelt. Originally he was the leader of Norwich before Spriggan took over, having both him and his fairies banished to the north by Spriggan. He used to be on the front lines with Woodwose, and lost the competition to be the Fang Clan's leader to Woodwose. He oversaw the construction of Sheffield personally.[1]
He is rebelling against Morgan's rule.[1] He seeks to take the throne of Britain for himself, and uses saving Norwich from the Calamity as a rallying point to gather his army.[2]
Personality[]
A cold-hearted fairy but the ideal fit to be Lord of Sheffield. Despite his underlying fear of his confrontation with Morgan, he is a good king. Humans are forbidden from being treated as slaves in his territory.[3]
He is referred to as "Boggart the Loveless" and doesn't believe in love anymore. In battles of manners with Woodwose and money games with Spriggan, his wives always betrayed him at the last moment. Ever since then Boggart has had a human mistress at his side, thinking that as humans are slaves they can't betray him.[1]
To Boggart, liars are criminals and fraud is a capital offense. He ordered the goblins who brought Mash to him hanged for telling him she was a fairy when he could tell she was a human, even though they weren't technically lying since they really thought she was a fairy. However when Mash intervened he was quickly willing to hear her out and pay the goblins.[1]
Role[]
Fate/Grand Order[]
Fae Round Table Domain: Avalon le Fae[]
When Mash Kyrielight loses her memory and brought to Sheffield, Boggart, impressed by her strength, took her as his 62nd wife.[1] He also knows that he'll need more than strength to defeat Morgan, in that he'll need to maintain the dignity and grace of a king as well while doing so. Boggart allows the people of Sheffield to continue to believe that Mash is the Child of Prophecy and tells her to stay at his side as the perfect image befitting of a princess.[3] He wants Mash to be a beacon of hope for the people who look toward Boggart in his quest for the throne, and expects nothing more from her, much to Mash's chagrins.[2]
When Morgan's army attacks Sheffield, Boggart uses Black Barrel to kill hundreds of her soldiers, not caring or even noticing that it is draining the magical energy of him and his own men every time he fires.[4] Him weaken afterward gets tortured to near death by Fairy Knight Tristan and Beryl Gut using Fetch Failnaught, and then dropped about fifty meters high from his throne room. Mash whom managed to return back to the castle seeing his fall, dives after him, choosing to save him rather than killing Tristan and Beryl, in which the latter remarks she is still subconsciously herself even after losing her memories from Nameless Woods.[5]
Though he is seriously injured, Boggart then staggerdly carried Mash towards the rear gate as her body already reached beyond their limit from all the magical energy drain after her fight with Fairy Knight Lancelot. They flee Sheffield, with Boggart ordering all its remaining citizens to escape as well.[6] They escape to a cave at Thistle Hill that Boggart had set up as a refuge ahead of time, where he tells Mash that the cave leads to the Vein Corridor Od Vena and can be used to reach any city from underground. As he dies, he realizes that more than anything what he had wanted all along was to return to his home, Norwich.[7]
