Bridget

Bridget (called "Idget" by Chef) is a former scullery maid at Bergen Castle, and girlfriend and later wife of Gristle Jr.. She made her first appearance as a main character in Trolls, and would later appear in other media during most of the franchise's Trolls era, as well as making a cameo at the ending of Trolls World Tour, and having a major role in Trolls Band Together.

She's based on Cinderella from the fairytale of the same name.

Bridget is a grey-purple Bergen with pink cheeks, and short light purple hair styled in pigtails with pink rubber bands. She has pinkish-red eyes (an unique color among the Bergens) with yellow sclera and a small light green nose. She also has a grey unibrow and crooked teeth that stick out of her mouth. She wears a pink dress with a lacy collar and sleeves, a tattered and dirty apron, white girly underpants and lacy socks, and pink Mary Jane shoes with yellow flower buckles.

According to The Art of DreamWorks Trolls, Bridget is considered unattractive to other Bergens except Gristle due to her short height, which is hinted to be a form of dwarfism, a trait Gristle also shares.

As Queen of the Bergens, she wears a pink cape with a jewel of the same color, and a small golden crown; the apron she had in Trolls is now missing. She also has rainbow weave on her pigtails to make them look more colorful and longer.

Bridget's design in Trolls: The Beat Goes On! has different colors to the one in the 3D animation. Her hair is now light pink, her dress is blue, her underpants are dark beige and her shoes are magenta. Her apron and lacy socks are also missing.

Personality

While most Bergens appear to be quite cruel and mean-spirited, Bridget is sweet and kind. She's willing to do anything in order to get just one date with King Gristle Jr., even helping the Trolls. She lacks confidence at first because of her title as a mere scullery maid, thinking that Gristle was beyond her and he wouldn't want her. Even though, she's a good person and is willing to sacrifice herself to protect those she cares about.

Like Gristle, she didn't understand what happiness was and didn't realize that certain feelings she felt were signs of happiness. But by befriending the Trolls, she finally understands that true happiness is always around and is extremely willing to accept it. Although originally submissive and meek, Bridget later learns to stand up for herself against Chef by throwing a spoon at her as a means for helping the Trolls to defeat her.

Bridget is into gossip, fashion and acts like a 'valley girl' at times although is not a full commitment to the stereotype. Her confidence and happiness is greater then in her previous film, but she remains a sweetheart to the Trolls. Her status as Gristle's girlfriend, later wife, has allowed to live above her station and she is free to do as she pleases, though commits no ill despite that freedom and her current higher social status remaining humbled and respectful of others.

King Gristle Jr.

Bridget had a secret crush on King Gristle Jr. since her childhood. However, she was too afraid to tell him because she thought he won't feel the same way. But in the end, when Gristle finds out that Lady Glittersparkles is Bridget, he realizes that he doesn't need to eat Trolls to be happy, and it turns out he also loves Bridget. Bridget would then become Gristle's wife in the beginning of Trolls Band Together.

Though he has moments of his old self, Bridget soon reins in his bad behavior. Gristle often raises concerns and Bridget usually dismisses, as they usually are quite minor and she knows when to draw the line unlike Gristle. As such, their relationship works because without Gristle Bridget would be blissfully ignorant - however, without Bridget Gristle would be more spoilt and uptight.

Queen Poppy

Bridget is touched by Poppy, who's the first Troll to befriend her. They quickly become best friends.

In Trolls Holiday, Bridget speaks out on how Poppy and the Snack Pack's behavior is inconsiderate, but does feel guilty for unwittingly hurting Poppy's feelings. To make up for it, she and Gristle decide to set up a holiday that symbolizes the Bergens' friendship with the Trolls, and she and Poppy reconcile with each other.

By the time of Trolls Band Together, Bridget and Poppy are very close with each other, and consider each other like sisters.

Viva

Bridget and Viva had a rocky start, as Viva assumed that Bridget would be as dangerous as Bergens used to be. However, Bridget actually understands Viva's actions even she and Gristle were almost executed by the ignorant Viva, and soon they become friends.

Chef

Bridget was presumably a former assistant of Chef. Chef acted very mean to her, throwing pots and dishes on her head and insulting her. At the ending of Trolls, Bridget ultimately gains the courage to retaliate against Chef and protect the Trolls from her.

Bridget was a scullery maid, forced into a life of servitude due to her lack of social status and expected to live like this forever. She was therefore trained to clean the castle more or less by herself.

Age and Birth Details

Bridget is older than Gristle; she started working as a child in the castle while Gristle was a toddler.

In the Trolls: The Beat Goes On! episode "Two Party System", it's revealed that Bridget's birthday is one day before Branch's. Since Branch was said to be a Virgo in a tweet from the official DreamWorks account, this would place Bridget's star sign as either a Leo or a Virgo (like Branch himself), depending on where in the rotation their birthdays fall. If she's a Leo, it would mean that Branch's birthday then falls on the first day of Virgo's rotation while Bridget's falls on the last.

"Bridget" means "power" or "vigor".

• In Trolls Bridget lived in a room below Bergen Castle. In Trolls Band Together, the existence of a window in her confirms she no longer lives in her old room. In addition instead of the dink, dank contents of her old room, it is lit warmly with sunshine and her furniture is much more luxurious, signaling Bridget's raise in social status has occurred.

Specific To...

Trolls

• The full name of her alter-ego was "Lady Glittersparkles Seriously". Biggie says "Lady", Guy Diamond says "Glitter", Smidge says "Sparkles" and Branch says "Seriously?", questioning the ridiculous nature of the other Trolls' choice. However, as a gag, Bridget, having been told to say whatever the Trolls said, says "Seriously", not realizing that wasn't meant to be part of the name. For the most part, she was just called "Lady Glittlersparkles", leaving "Seriously" out as it was likely taken in the way it would usually mean.
• The design of Bridget's room was inspired by that of Branch's bunker.
  • In fact, Branch and Bridget draw parallels to each other, alongside their respective love interests Poppy and King Gristle Jr. Both are outcasts who believed happiness was beyond them; Branch because of his own inability to forgive himself, and Bridget because she believed her social status meant Gristle wouldn't want her.
• It is unknown if Bridget had ever eaten a Trolls prior to the events of Trolls, though Chef claims "there is one among us" in regards to King Gristle Jr., and her bio denies nor confirms she has.

Trolls Band Together

• Bridget and Gristle were originally going to have an entire montage of them enjoying their honeymoon at a water park, before Bridget rode their motorcycle into the sunset. This montage was likely cut due to time constraints.
