Chaz is a minor antagonist in Trolls World Tour, being one of the Bounty Hunters employed by Queen Barb. He is the only known member of the Smooth Jazz subculture, and is from the hinterlands.
He later returned in Trolls: TrollsTopia as the main antagonist of "Smooth Operator" and a major character in "The Troublesome Trio". He also appeared as the main antagonist of Trolls Remix Rescue.

Chaz is a seductive, saxophone-playing Troll with a silky-smooth voice. And when you’re the swankiest Troll in the land, you need the smoothest tunes—which is exactly why Chaz pledges allegiance to Smooth Jazz above all others (it never gets the respect it truly deserves). However, it looks like that is finally going to change when Queen Barb rolls into town with her gang of rockers. She gives Chaz an offer he can’t refuse: track down Queen Poppy and her string, and she’ll give Smooth Jazz a tiny home of its very own.[1] |

Personality[]
Chaz is a confident and chilled Smooth Jazz Troll who passionately loves his music. He has a low opinion for the Pop Trolls, expressing his distaste for their music, calling it cheesy and pointless, and showing an interest in seeing it erased once and for all. He's a patient bounty hunter who ambushes his quarry using his music to transfix them into hypnotized helplessness. Even in defeat he claims "Smooth Jazz will be heard again, Smooth Jazz will never die!". Some of his actions imply a romantic undertone.
In Trolls: TrollsTopia, he's far more devious, and frequently makes Jazz-based puns. In "Smooth Operator", during his first attempt to take over the city, he earnt Poppy's trust by pretending to be lonely to get her to welcome him into TrollsTopia. He wasn't shy about admitting he was "evil" to Poppy later in "The Troublesome Trio", and showed a lot of self-pride in himself in both episodes he was in.
Relationships[]
Pushy Poppy and Marshtato Mary[]
In "The Troublesome Trio", Chaz teamed up with Pushy Poppy and Marshtato Mary to take over TrollsTopia, but the trio were clueless on how to get along, constantly fighting with each other as a result. Chaz and Pushy Poppy were never called "Elves" by Mary (despite her using the slur for all other Trolls) and didn't seem bothered by her use of the term against other Trolls.
Chaz's main cause of arguments was his persistence that they were turning TrollsTopia into "Jazztopia". He also took offence when Mary and Pushy Poppy worked a friendship handshake and excluded him in the process. Additionally, his talk of chest hair, while seemingly not bothersome to Mary, grossed out Pushy Poppy.
At the end of the episode, he was humbled by Pushy Poppy remembering it was his saxophone's birthday the following day. The three ended up becoming friends, so much that they started doing each other's hobbies and had no spare time to conquer TrollsTopia.
Skills & Abilities[]
He has most normal Troll abilities.
He can hypnotize other Trolls with his Smooth Jazz music.
In Trolls: TrollsTopia, he was shown to be able to make his chest hair longer.
Music[]
Chaz's specialty is Smooth Jazz. He's one of the Trolls who are a subculture spun from existing Tribes, similar to Tiny Diamond and Tresillo. Chaz is the start of brand new Tribe of Trolls, thus far he is the only one seen in the Trolls franchise to specialize in Smooth Jazz, making him right now its apparent founder.
He plays a soprano-class saxophone. He practically floats as he plays across the water and is seen raising up out of its depths. The effects of his music causes Trolls to hallucinate, making them vulnerable to his attacks. However, his music has no effect on children, as shown with Tiny Diamond and Keith in "Smooth Operator".
Bounty Hunting[]
Chaz has an ambush style of hunting; he lays in to wait for his victim, then springs up on them, and before they can react they're caught in his song. While they're hallucinating, he ties them up. By the time they snap out of it's already too late. He can take several targets at once despite working solo.
Arts and Crafts[]
According to "The Troublesome Trio", Chaz has pottery classes on Thursdays.

Trivia[]
- His appearance is more suggestive that he is of a Pop Troll heritage variant like Tiny Diamond, though it is currently unknown what his heritage is spun from.
- It's also based on the idea that Jazz in general is considered to be a smooth, sensational genre related to romance.
- Chaz's disdain for Pop music is ironic, given that Smooth Jazz is somewhat controversial within Jazz music circles, where it's considered to be barely a step above easy-listening lounge music.
