Hundred-Faced High Priest Chaos (百面神官 カオス Hyakumen Shinkan Kaosu) was the second-in-command of the Deboth Army and the central antagonist of Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger.

History[]

Past[]

Calling himself the voice of Chozetsushin Deboth, Chaos was among the first beings created by the entity alongside his younger brother Wise God Torin in the past. However, when Torin betrayed them, a wounded Chaos vowed a vendetta that continued for many centuries up to the present day.Tvicon TV STORY-Brave 28: Oh Torin! The 100 Million Year-Old Grudge

During the Sengoku Era, Chaos enacted a scheme to control Zyudenryu Pteragordon by having Raging Knight Dogold possess Utsusemimaru but the scheme was set back with Pteragordon being sealed after a nasty injury and the Army being put into deep freeze.

Kyoryuger[]

Reemerging in 2013, Chaos sends Zorima to attack Earth prior to spending a month reviving Sorrowful Knight Aigaron Joyful Knight Canderrilla, Funfilled Spy Luckyulo and Debo Hyogakki. He sends Debo Hyogakki to cause a second ice age but he is slain by the new Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger. Tvicon TV STORY-Brave 1: He's Here! The Bright Red King

Eventually, Chaos reveals that he possesses a fake Zyudenchi of Pteragordon and releases the Zyudenryu from its seal to enact his scheme. Tvicon TV STORY-Brave 7: Angry! Daigo's in Big Trouble

It ultimately fails when the Kyoryugers manages to strengthen Utsusemimaru's heart to free himself from within Dogold. Tvicon TV STORY-Brave 10: Zandar! Gold Revives

Later, with the threat of Zyudenryu Plezuon being a very strong detriment to the Army's plans, Chaos makes a risky plan: revive Deboth despite having not enough Joy and Anger Emotion Energy to fully revive Deboth's heart to maximum efficiency. To do so, they had to commandeer a reservoir where Debo Viruson would make Luckyulo's Restoration Water container overfill with Restoration Water and then saturate the normal water with the Deboth cell-restoring liquid. By the time the Kyoryugers defeat Viruson for a second time, Viruson has done his job in filling the reservoir with enough Restoration Water so Chaos teleports the Frozen Castle into the reservoir. By the time the Kyoryugers try to destroy the Frozen Castle, Deboth awakened, and the Frozen Castle turns into Deboth who, after absorbing Viruson, demolishes the Kyoryugers. Tvicon TV STORY-Brave 22: It Can't be! Deboth Revived

Despite the fact that they are out-powered, the Kyoryugers stand their ground and (despite the fact that his teammates have passed out) Daigo pilots Kyoryuzin Kung-Fu on his own. By showing his fighting spirit to Deboth, he drives the mindless beast into a panic, which Chaos laments as him not yet being able to fully understand human emotions. Deboth soon turns his attention to his own troops when Luckyulo begins shouting a little too loudly and begins attacking them. Acting quickly, Chaos teleports to his comrade's side and asks Luckyulo to hit Deboth with a special white ball. Once he does and shrinks Deboth down to human size, Chaos quickly restrains Deboth and explains that Deboth was not completely revived but they acknowledge the risks that entails and would do it again. Once Deboth has calmed down, they can destroy the Earth within the Frozen Castle in Deboth's body, confident the Zyudenryu will not be a threat. He asks if Plezuon is confirmed to be dead after the Knights, Hyogakki, and Luckyulo destroyed most of Plezuon Lab.

When they do not give a straight answer, he orders them off-screen to go there again and, by the time they do, they realize Pleuzon and the Kyoryugers are still alive when Daigo intercepts them and sends them away via the Pukuptor Zyudenchi. Chaos gets word of this failure and news before going to check on Deboths who has somewhat calmed down. Fearing that it will be the end of them if Plezuon is brought out to fight, Chaos and Dogold return Deboth to his original height and go inside the Frozen Castle to destroy Plezuon and the lab.

When they do, they meet resistance in the form of Daigo. However, he is soon accompanied with the arrival of the other Kyoryugers, as well as the Zyudenryu Gabutyra]] and Bunpachy. While Dogold expresses his usual amount of irritation, Chaos is amazed at the range of emotion the Kyoryugers are showing before they retreat.

Eventually, Deboth has managed to defeat Gabutyra, Bunpachy, and the Kyoryugers but, as they are about to destroy them all, Plezuon comes rocketing out of Plezuon Lab and Daigo transforms Plezuon into Plezu-Oh and takes the fight to Deboth and manages to beat the Deboth Army progenitor back. The Kyoryugers then form Bakuretsu Kyoryuzin for the first time, and begin dealing serious damage to Deboth. When the Kyoryugers fire the Zyuden Explosive Storm, Chaos notes that Deboth's cells are being destroyed due to a program within Plezuon's circuits. With certain destruction imminent, Chaos notices a sickly green glow on the back of his right hand before Deboth explodes in the air when he is hit by the Explosive Brave Finish. Tvicon TV STORY-Brave 23: Stand! Bakuretsu Kyoryuzin

However, it is not the end for them as the glow that Chaos has on his hand was Deboth transferring his heart into him which allows Deboth to stay alive albeit reduced to his Frozen Castle self. Chaos spends a few days restoring the Frozen Castle on the sea bed, while the other members are making a revenge scheme which falls through with the deaths of Debo Hyogakki and Aigaron although Deboth somehow saves the Sorrowful Knight. Luckyulo, carrying an unconscious Canderrilla, later finds the still recovering Frozen Castle, and makes a Debo Monster to enact vengeance on the Kyoryugers. Tvicon TV STORY-Brave 24: Burn! The Seven Kyoryugers

When Luckyulo's plan falls through, the Deboth Army show themselves to the Kyoryugers to save Luckyulo where Chaos reveals it all to the stunned Kyoryugers and Torin as well as swearing that Deboth will evolve once more to destroy humanity. Thanks to Luckyulo's actions, he knows that he can revive Deboth by targeting the emotion the opposite of the Kyoryugers' bravery: resentment. To gather the Emotional Energy of resentment, Chaos creates a new Knight for such a task: Resentful Knight Endolf. Tvicon TV STORY-Brave 25: What's This! The Nightmare of the Deboss Army

During Endolf's first mission with Dogold, however, they begin infighting which forces Chaos into intervenin in order for them to stop due to Deboth wanting something out of the Knights which is to find a strong emotion. Chaos has then instruct Endolf to work with his fellow Knights to deepen the emotions that they are collecting. He then tells a seething Dogold not to attack Endolf when the Knight goes to work with Aigaron and ignores the Raging Knight. Since Endolf is the personification of his and Deboth's desire for vengeance, there will be no clue as to how Endolf will react. Tvicon TV STORY-Brave 26: Surprise! The Gabutyra Human

Eventually, Chaos creates a clone of Torin dubbed Demon Sword Priest Mad Torin. Unlike the original, Mad Torin is completely loyal to the Deboth Army with no redeeming qualities. The plan is to unleash monsters from Deboth Hell to overwhelm Earth. Tvicon TV STORY-Brave 35: Super Awesome! Gigant Kyoryuzin

Chaos appears after Torin slays Mad Torin and is shocked to see him morphed into Kyoryu Silver. Angered, he has Luckyulo enlarge Mad Torin before leaving but the Deboth Priest is killed anyway. Tvicon TV STORY-Brave 36: Giga Gaburincho! The Silver Miracle

Chaos takes leave to go to Deboth Hell, leaving Dogold in charge of the army. It is in the underworld that he notices Endolf is missing and realizes that Dogold has taken control of the fellow Deboth knight. He creates New Sorrowful Knight Aisurondo and New Joyful Knight Killborero to gather sorrow and joy needed to awaken Deboth. He then accompanies them to the city where they play special music to force people to experience joy in order to teach it to Deboth. When they are confronted by the Kyoryugers, Chaos retrieves the record before it can be destroyed and absorbs the record within his body. The record allows Deboth to gain an understanding of joy and sorrow and it finally has enough understanding of all three emotions to take power. It temporarily takes possession of the priest's body and summons the Frozen Castle before he easily overwhelms the Kyoryugers until Uchi arrives. After paralyzing Deboth and the Knights with his Lightning Link, they combine the Lightning Afterglow and Trinity Straizer with the Five Voltasaur Victory Finish. Despite this, Deboth Chaos survives and grows to giant size and the Kyoryugers form Gigant Kyoryuzin. However, none of their attacks do any harm to him and Endolf and the two cloaked figures appear and flee with their master back to the Frozen Castle when Gigant Kyoryuzin unleashes the Super Zyuden Gigant Full Breaster. Tvicon TV STORY-Brave 44: Chaos Smiles! The Countdown of Destruction

After Luckyulo and Canderrilla run away, he worries the former knight of joy will become a threat and orders Icerondo to eliminate her. Aigaron overhears and decides to warn Canderrilla but is followed by Icerondo. Tvicon TV STORY-Brave 45: It Can't Be, Dad! Silver's End

During the final battle, Chaos realizes that Torin and the Spirit Kyoryugers might destroy the underworld and therefore prevent Deboth's plan from succeeding upon learning of their intrusion by Mad Torin. As such, he allows himself to be defeated by Dantetsu's Wind Burst Punch so that he can confront the three in the underworld before they can destroy the core. However, the Kyoryuger's melody reaches the underworld which weakens him so he tries to slay the Spirit Kyoryugers only for Canderrilla to defend them as she and Luckyro have entered the dimension using Luckyulo's watering can. The Spirit Kyoryugers and Canderrilla then combine their signature attacks, slamming Chaos into the Deboth Hell entrance. Mortally wounded, Chaos can only proclaim how right he was about Candellia before being obliterated. Tvicon TV STORY-Brave Final: Great Explosion! Goodbye, Kyoryuger

Legacy[]

Chaos' explosion destroying the opening and making the revived Zorima disintegrate and allowing Daigo to easily kill Deboth.

A year later, Creator Devius (the one who originally created Deboth) came to Earth to destroy Earth whereas his creation failed. Needing time to revive, he created Crimson High Priest Salamaz as Chaos' replacement to communicate with the Evil Army Shadow Line only for Salamaz to also die. Kyoryuger: 100 Years After[]

In the year 2114, Remorseful Knight Arslevan takes Chaos` body and puts a new soul into it making him the Thousand-Faced High Priest Gaos. Gaos acts as the leader of the Deboth Army until he and the others are defeated at which time Arselevan betrays them. He is Deboth's real air and absorbs the Deboth Army generals and monsters to gain the power of time travel. Gaos is killed for good when the future and past Kyoryugers kill Arselevan. Personality[]

Chaos was wise, evil, and completely loyal to Deboth. He also holds a deep grudge against Torin for betraying him, going so far as to not heal the wound to his shoulder so as to never forget the betrayal. Despite that, he shows respect towards his loyal followers at the start of the series, such as ensuring a frustrated Dogold that he could keep him an endless supply of Cambrima to use as hosts. He also felt some slight regret for having to destroy Canderrilla and Luckyulo after they left because of their loyalty but saw it as necessary should they follow in Torin's footsteps, which they actually did. His devotion to Deboth and their cause was so great that he allowed himself to be destroyed so he could go to Deboth Hell to protect it.
