Magenta Pikmin are a Pikmin appearing in Pikmin SP, discovered in Silent Spring's final cave, Waterfall Domain. Being the second and last Pikmin found there, Magenta Pikmin are quite useful for a variety of purposes, including a boss fight. They can never lose their flower and will have a flower even after sprouting from the ground after being born. Because Magenta Pikmin do not have an Onion of their own, they must be propagated through the use of subterranean Plum Candypop Buds.

In Pikmin: Dual Worlds, Magenta Pikmin have iron pieces around their wrists and stems and on the bottom of their feet. The metal pieces on them are shaped like horseshoe magnets, the pieces on the wrists and stem usable like magnets to allow attachment to metal surfaces through magnetism. The pieces on the bottom of their feet function like actual horseshoes and allow Magenta Pikmin to walk safely over rust without danger of dying. Magenta Pikmin are found in Red-Stage Rustworks, which can be unlocked not long after getting Rock Pikmin. Their scientific name is picminicus metallicum.

Magenta Pikmin in Pikmin: Triad War are resistant to natural hazards and are the only Pikmin resistant to lasers. They are capable of completing laser-related puzzles. Magenta Pikmin have long, purple hair, and the petals of their buds and flowers are lime-colored. For each Magenta Pikmin present in a squad, the effects of ultra-spicy spray are increased by two percent for those with leaves, four percent for those with buds, and five percent for those with flowers. Additionally, flowered Magenta Pikmin have a twenty-five percent chance to flare up with ultra-spicy spray when initiated into combat. Magenta Pikmin are twice as weak as other Pikmin species and die easily as a result.
