Elisanne: Lowen? I just want to point out that there are many large, fit adults in the world aside from Ranzal. You don't necessarily have to go about bulking up in the same way he does.
Cleo: Indeed, who's to say that such a physique is even appropriate for you?
Lowen: But Ranzal's an adult, and he's REALLY strong! He's everything I'm not, you know?
Cleo: If you ask me, you possess any number of fine qualities that Ranzal lacks.
Elisanne: She's right. True adults grow by building on their own strengths, not by pushing themselves to be something they aren't.
Lowen: Yeah, but I dunno what my own strengths even ARE. But I do know I wanna be able to do anything—and also be super ripped just like Ranzal. So now I'm gonna EAT like he does, too!

Euden: Yes, it's me. I heard someone yelling out here and came to see what was going on. What're you doing out here at this hour?

Euden: Were you scared of something?
Lowen: I...um...had to use the bathroom.
Euden: Uh oh. Did you get lost? You know what? Never mind. Let me just take you there right now.
Lowen: Thank you.
Euden: You're welcome. Honestly, I'm glad I made it in time.
Lowen: Yeah. But still, I can't believe I couldn't even go to the bathroom by myself... I thought I was stronger, but I'm still just as weak as ever.
Euden: That's not true at all, Lowen. You're absolutely getting stronger. But strength comes in many forms. Such as the strength to fight, or the strength to not give in to our fears. And I think it's good for a person to learn many different strengths.
Lowen: Is that what you did?
Euden: You bet. No one just starts out not being afraid of anything, after all. So you should just work hard and get stronger a little bit at a time. If you do that, the number of things that frighten you will decrease, and you'll be able to protect the people you love.
Lowen: You know what? You can leave me here. I think I'm gonna be fine.

Lowen: You too! Oh man, he's SOOO cool! I wanna be like him someday. I'm gonna work even harder to not just be the little brother anymore!

Lowen: All right! Lemme start by whipping up some soup. I think I remember Louise's recipe pretty well... So I cut the potatoes liiiike...this, right?

Cleo: You will most certainly NOT do that! The boiling water could splash out and scald the flesh right off your bones!
Lowen: I, uh, don't know if it's THAT hot, but sure. Lemme just drop them in real gently... Yeowch! Hot!

Lowen: Are you okay, Cleo? You look completely exhausted!
Cleo: I think...I may have worried about you overmuch...
Lowen: Oh. I'm sorry. This is all my fault. I just wanted to help you out, Cleo. Then you could see how much I've grown and maybe you'd—
Cleo: I know, Lowen. It's all right.
Lowen: But I made you totally exhausted because I was so wrapped up in myself. I'm really sorry.
Cleo: Come now, chin up. Accepting the ways in which we might be wanting is all part of maturing.
Lowen: Heh. I guess I'm still pretty uncool, huh? I thought I had everything figured out, but I just ended up making trouble for you.
Cleo: Even grown-ups have their flaws, Lowen. We make unsound decisions, panic, and let our emotions get the best of us. We're often more like children than children in that respect. But the difference is that we recognize our mistakes and fight through them. Becoming an adult doesn't mean that your problems all suddenly disappear. Still, I imagine none of this will dissuade you from attempting to grow up as fast as you possibly can.
Lowen: Not really, no. I wanna become a strong adult who can protect the people that are important to him.
Cleo: Heh. But you're plenty strong enough already, Lowen.
Lowen: Er, but weren't you just super worried about how I'd kill myself while making a pot of soup?
Cleo: You're able to pursue your aspirations with genuine fervor. And that comes from your own strength. Nothing else.
