Full Speed Seacutter
Butler: Lord Ieyaaasu! Where have you run off to?
Summer Ieyasu: ...Is he gone?
Setta: Yup. And luckily for us, we're headed in the exact opposite direction today. I think we're safe to mosey.
Summer Ieyasu: Splendid. I would've hated to postpone my observation of the lifeguards.
Marishiten: Gotta hand it to that butler—he's a lot wilier than he looks. Persistent, too. The guy is EVERYWHERE.
Summer Ieyasu: Truly. And he's only redoubled his efforts to locate us with each passing day. I do feel a bit guilty leading him around...
Summer Ieyasu: But not guilty enough to allow an entire summer to be wasted on frivolous revelry.
Setta: Sounds like you guys have it rough. I guess survey tours aren't quite as fun as they sound, even if you ARE checking out a seaside paradise.
Setta: Anyway, that's enough commiserating. We're nearly there.
Setta: Aaand we made it. Hey, bro! These are the people I told you about!
Lifeguard: Hey, Setta and company! We've been waiting for you. Welcome!
Lifeguard: You wanted to ask about Fellista Beach's lifeguards, yeah?
Summer Ieyasu: Correct. Might I add that I am humbled you would take time away from your duties to indulge my request? This is invaluable.
Lifeguard: Don't sweat it. It's my pleasure. Now, to get right into it, our number one job is accident prevention.
Lifeguard: Which means our priority is keeping a constant watch on the shore.
Summer Ieyasu: That much is identical to our own system. Unfortunately, we still see incidents occur from time to time.
Lifeguard: Right. Which brings me to the next most important part of our work: getting help to those who need it as swiftly as possible.
Lifeguard: And to do that, we use the seacutter.
Marishiten: Sea...cutter? The heck is that?
Lifeguard: Put simply, it's a vehicle that runs on the water. Our friends in Chanzelia unearthed one and restored it to working order.
Lifeguard: Seeing as Chanzelia is landlocked, they were kind enough to loan it to us in exchange for data from its use here.
Summer Ieyasu: I see. It does seem rather fascinating. The chassis design in particular sparks a certain natural curiosity.
Lifeguard: Eyyy, this guy gets it! Ooh, I know. Wanna take it for a spin?
Summer Ieyasu: Oh! Er... May I?
Lifeguard: Of course! Right this way.
Summer Ieyasu: So this is the seacutter... Sitting astride it conjures to mind my equestrian escapades.
Lifeguard: Funny you should mention that—the Chanzelian engineers said they based their redesign on horseback riding. Now, let's take her out. Ready?
Summer Ieyasu: Whenever you are, sir. ...Goodness! This—
Summer Ieyasu: It's so FAST! Agile, too! If it responds so readily to my commands... Hyah!
Summer Ieyasu: It feels like an extension of my body. Heh, I'm reminded of the night I raced my horse up the mountain pass behind the manor!
Marishiten: Someone sure is acting like a kid on Dragonyule. You're adorable, Ieyasu.
Summer Ieyasu: I confess, it's rather thrilling! This seacutter might even outpace a dragon.
Marishiten: ...What'd you just say?
Marishiten: You think that thing's faster than ME? If that's a joke, I'm not laughing.
Summer Ieyasu: Erm! It was in no way my intention to cast any doubts or aspersions on your abilit—
Marishiten: Can it! Whatever your "intention," it's something one race will settle. Now take your weird un-horse and let's do this!
Summer Ieyasu: What?!
Marishiten: Talky time's over, pal. First one to that little island and back wins. Ready? GO!
Summer Ieyasu: Marishiten! Agh... I suppose I'll only make this worse if I ignore her. Apologies, sir. I'll be borrowing this awhile longer!
Setta: Huh? Oh—whoa. There he goes. Well, uh... YOU GOT THIS, IEYASU!
Marishiten: There, see? I'm way faster than that rickety antique.
Summer Ieyasu: *huff* *huff* Is that any surprise? I'm on a vehicle I only just discovered, whereas you've been flying since birth.
Summer Ieyasu: But without question, this victory is yours. Now, I should like to put this whole conversation behind us and move on.
Marishiten: Fine by me. No point dragging it out when I'd just beat you every time. Maybe this'll teach you to watch what you say.
Summer Ieyasu: Yes, yes. You've made it abundantly clear that you're—
Setta: That's not true!
Summer Ieyasu: Er... Setta?
Setta: I was watching the whole time. Ieyasu was holding back. I could tell!
Setta: He's REALLY strong. If he was trying his hardest, he would never lose! Right, Ieyasu?!
Summer Ieyasu: !
Botan: That's not true! Ieyasu's WAY stronger than you!
Botan: If he didn't trip at the very start, he'd have beaten you, EASY! He only held back 'cause you have seniority... *sniff*
Botan: WAAAAAH! Ieyasu would never lose for real!
Summer Ieyasu: (Ha ha, that brought me back. The time I spent studying at the dojo with Botan feels so nostalgic now.)
Summer Ieyasu: (I'd lost a sparring match, and Botan came to my defense just like Setta. Then she made me promise to win the next bout.)
Summer Ieyasu: You truly think I'm capable, Setta?
Setta: Doy! You've GOT this, Ieyasu. Just give it one more go!
Summer Ieyasu: A tempting thought. Back then, my place in the hierarchy prevented me from asking for a rematch, but now...
Setta: Huh? Back when?
Summer Ieyasu: Ha ha, I'm just talking to myself. I think I would like to reclaim my honor after all.
Summer Ieyasu: I can't very well let your faith in me go misplaced. Now, Marishiten, I challenge you to a rematch!
Marishiten: Oh ho! Bold of you to pick a fight with this particular dragon. But then again, it's not altogether surprising you would.
Marishiten: Either way, you're on. And you know I'm not gonna be holding back, so you better come at me with everything you've got.
Summer Ieyasu: I wouldn't dream of doing otherwise. Watch closely, Setta. Here I go!
Setta: Woo! You show her, Ieyasu!
Marishiten & Ieyasu: HaaaAAAH!
Marishiten: There's that fire I knew you had. Reminds me of when we first swore a pact.
Summer Ieyasu: The day I said that world domination was incidental, and asked your aid in protecting the peace?
Marishiten: I thought you were out of your gourd. Still do, really. But I knew you were the kinda guy who fought hardest for others.
Marishiten: ...Which explains why you're faster this time around. I'm giving it all I've got, and you still passed me!
Summer Ieyasu: The occasional upset is what keeps an uneven match fun. Plus, I'm under explicit orders from Sazanka to cut loose a bit.
Summer Ieyasu: So I'm very sorry, but I'll be winning this round. I hope you won't take it personally! HAAAAH!
Summer Ieyasu: I can do this! As long as I maintain this pace until the end, victory is—
Butler: LORD IEYASU!
Summer Ieyasu: WHAT?!
Butler: I've finally found you, Lord Ieyasu!
Marishiten: The BUTLER?! We're out on open water here! And I thought this guy was persistent BEFORE!
Butler: No butler worth his salt would fail to receive his masters' guests because of a little thing like the ocean being in his way!
Butler: Now, let us return forthwith, Lord Ieyasu. A most resplendent party awaits y—waugh?!
Summer Ieyasu: Sir! No... When he extended his hand to me, it caused his dinghy to capsize!
Butler: The... The party! *glub glubble blub*
Summer Ieyasu: Rgh... This is no time for vain competition. Forgive me, Setta.
Summer Ieyasu: My good man, I'll pull you up now! Give me your hand!
Butler: *cough* *sputter* *gasp* I'm... I'm saved...
Marishiten: Soft as ever, Ieyasu. But I hate a fight with no ending. I'm finishing this race out.
Summer Ieyasu: ...So I'm afraid it was my loss yet again, Setta. My apologies.
Summer Ieyasu: I swore to rise to meet your expectations, but fell short. Forgive me this betrayal.
Setta: Aw, it's fine. Keep your chin up, Ieyasu.
Setta: Sure, it's a little frustrating. But you were cool out there when you rescued that guy.
Setta: Plus, your seacutter technique was on full display. Even from here, you looked like a pro!
Lifeguard: He's right. It was an impressive display. Even among us lifeguards, there aren't many who could match it.
Setta: Besides, wasn't the whole point of your trip to see how they do rescue stuff here? I'd say you checked that box off just fine.
Summer Ieyasu: You're terribly kind, Setta. I thank you for your thoughtful words. Heh... You've once again reminded me of the past.
Summer Ieyasu: One of my dear friends growing up would often console me much as you just did. Truly, I'm blessed with excellent friends.
Setta: Yeah? You...do know flattery won't get you anything out of me, right? Not that I'm complaining; I'm just...kinda broke.
Summer Ieyasu: Ha ha. Kind AND modest! I shall have to work harder than ever to ensure I don't disappoint you again.
Summer Ieyasu: And, out of respect for the butler's tenacity, I will make a point of attending at least a few more social engagements as well.
Setta: That sounds less scary than having him chase you all the way out into the ocean again. I'm sure you'll survive.
Summer Ieyasu: I shall endeavor to! I plan to redouble my efforts, both in work and in enjoying this summer with you, Setta. On to the next!
