"Stupid amateurs like you really piss me off. You better not drag me down, OK?"
Mika is a character in Persona 5. She is Ann Takamaki's rival in the fashion industry.
Appearance[]
- Persona 5 / Royal: Minor Character
- Persona 5 The Animation: Minor Character
- Persona 5: Mementos Mission: Major Character
- Persona 5 Dengeki Comic Anthology: Minor Character
Design[]
Mika has brown eyes and long brown hair. She wears a pearl necklace, and a light blue dress. When she dresses in attire for modeling against Ann, she changes from a light blue dress to a purple one, her hair is curled instead of straight, she wears significantly more makeup, and she wears sunglasses on her forehead.
Personality[]
Mika is described by Ann as similar to the villains in an anime she watched as a child in that she is beautiful, strong, and wicked. And indeed, Mika is selfish and manipulative, easily willing to play to Ann's own better nature to trick her into embarrassing herself. However, as Ann notes, she is not precisely an "evil" person, just desperate and determined, not to mention understandably bitter about the fact that Ann has very little work ethic when it comes to her modeling and yet somehow keeps on outshining Mika.
Profile[]
Persona 5[]
Mika appears in Ann Takamaki's Confidant as a fellow model. She's older than Ann but is her kouhai (junior) in modeling. After their initial meeting, Ann quickly realizes that Mika is behind the mysterious lateness of other models, which gives her more opportunities to photo shoot. After this is revealed, however, Mika has made such a good impression on the agency that she is able to get away with a rather insincere apology. Despite this, Ann decides Mika was in the right to steal some of Ann's own photo-ops, as Mika was simply being a businesswoman desperate to get ahead in a cutthroat industry, and lets her off with only a mutual promise to make sure their own rivalry is within the bounds of professional ethics.
Royal[]
The protagonist is given a chance to meet Mika and bid her farewell before he leaves Tokyo and ends his probation. During this, she can be heard with a few default voice clips, making this the only time she is voiced.
Persona 5: Mementos Mission[]
Mika appears as a central character in the manga side series. Taking place sometime after Okumura's palace, Mika is shown to be having a joint photoshoot with Ann. When Ren appears at the shoot to give Ann her missing wallet, Mika confides to the two that she has a stalker. For the past few days, someone has been knocking at her door, then leaves behind either an animal or a sharp object of some kind. Mika confirms she did go to the police about this, but all they said was they would wait and see.
Not long after, famous producer Shiro Asakura appears and takes interest in Ren, whereas Mika tries to make herself known. During the conversation, Shiro is mysteriously poisoned and Mika is named the Prime Suspect. The Phantom Thieves agree to help solve the case with Ann convinced that Mika isn't Shiro's killer.
Mika would later reappear in chapter 6. While disguised, she meets up with Ann at a diner and reveals a big clue in the investigation: Mika overheard their own producer, Kenji Tokito, say that he was glad to hear Shiro was almost dead. From what Mika had also overheard, Tokito had plans to recruit models from Shiro's agency. Since the attempt on Asakura's life, Mika has been severally badmouthed online but Ann was surprised to see Mika in such high spirits.
She is mentioned once more in chapter 17. Ren asks Akechi of his thoughts on Mika's stalker, pointing towards a piercing that they left at her door. Akechi ponders it, pulling out his phone to seemingly investigate. He states, based on the pictures on her social media, Mika loves animals. Akechi points out specifically that there is a post of a crow chick that she saved a few months ago, with Ann supporting the claim by stating the crow got very attached to her. Akechi hypothesizes that the crow is, in fact, Mika's stalker. He states that the items left at the door are shiny and metallic, which suit a crow's taste. He continues, stating that it could knock on the door without being seen through the peephole, or that it would be seen and go unnoticed.

Etymology[]
Even in the Japanese version, Mika's name is never rendered beyond just katakana (ミカ), which could be her preferred stage name or diminutive. One of the popular kanji rendition of the name "Mika" is "美香" which means "beauty-fragrance."
Trivia[]
- Mika is the only character in Persona 5 with dialogue portraits to not have a voice actor, as she only appears in Confidant events, which are not voiced. She does gain a voice actor in the anime and Royal however.
- In Persona 5: Mementos Mission, it is stated that Mika loves animals. She has several pictures of birds and cats on her phone and social media, and even gets excited at hearing only Morgana meowing within Ren's bag.
