Whose Show is This? is the ninth and final episode of the first season of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

Synopsis[]

Jen finds herself in trouble with the law and struggles to pick up the pieces of her life.

Plot[]

Visiting Jennifer Walters in Supermax prison

Jennifer Walters dreams a television theme that explains her rampage at the gala. Walters wakes up from her dream in the Damage Control Supermax Prison to see Nikki Ramos, Mallory Book and Augustus Pugliese. Book tells Walters they have a plea deal. Walters has to now wear a Hulk Inhibitor Device. At the GLK&H Los Angeles Office, Walters packs up her things after being fired. The news reacts to her release, including many reporters staking outside her house. Due to this, Walters moves back to her parents house.

Intelligencia Research

Ramos and Walters think of ways to take down Intelligencia for defamation of character and conclude that they need to figure out the identity of HulkKing. Ramos then sees that Dennis Bukowski is talking bad about her on live television, much to Walters' annoyance. Elaine Walters arrives and shows Ramos an old video of Walters in college. In her room, Walters talks about how she originally didn't want to be She-Hulk, but this doesn't feel right. A narrator then starts talking, but she says they aren't going to do a narrator. She proceeds to text both Bruce Banner and Emil Blonsky for help only to have her text messages not deliver. Meanwhile, Ramos uploads the video of Walters on Intelligencia in order to become an established member. She enlists the help of Pugliese to infiltrate their meeting while she tells him what to say.

Walters arrives at Summer Twilights and sees Dirk Garthwaite. As she gets settled, Pug infiltrates an Intelligencia meeting to find Todd Phelps, who reveals himself to be HulkKing. Pugliese struggles to fit in because he hates their mindset, but he does so anyways. The reception then cuts out Ramos' call. Meanwhile, Walters tries to find Blonsky and Garthwaite tells her he is at a private event down at the barn. At the party, Phelps addresses the crowd and introduces the motivational speaker: Abomination. Blonsky walks out as Abomination, oblivious of the Intelligencia's true agenda. Blonsky believes he is doing motivational speaking. Suddenly, Walters coincidentally arrives at the barn which is on the property of Summer Twilights. Blonsky reverts to human form and tries to explain himself for breaking his plea deal. Pugliese reveals to Walters that Phelps is HulkKing.

Phelps goes on a rant about how he earned his own powers before using a serum developed by Walters' blood to turn himself into a Hulk. Randomly, Titania arrives despite Walter’s remarks about how messy it is. Abomination goes to save Walters by picking her up. Banner suddenly drops down through the ceiling, thinking that Blonsky is attacking Walters. Walters is very confused on how all the plot lines match up. The Disney+ home screen then pops up, so Walters breaks her inhibitor and crashes through the home screen. She then finds Assembled and climbs in. At Marvel Studios headquarters, she talks to Jessica Gao and the rest of the writers, who are in a meeting about their script. She claims she is going to talk to a man named "Kevin." She breaks through security to find a machine named K.E.V.I.N..

K.E.V.I.N. greets her while reviewing the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Before letting her talk, K.E.V.I.N. tells her to revert to human form because of how expensive she is. After doing so, Walters tells him how unhappy she is with her story. K.E.V.I.N. tells her it isn't her show, but she claims it's a legal comedy and wants to state her closing argument. She proceeds by talking about how everything is thrown at the audience in the climax and claims that isn't needed in her story. Walters requests K.E.V.I.N. to erase Phelps' blood plot line as well as erasing Hulk's appearance. She also asks Abomination to reprimand himself for his actions. She continues by asking for Daredevil, the X-Men, and to stop with the daddy issues for every hero. K.E.V.I.N. simply tells her that the X-Men aren't coming yet. Walters shifts the focus to Season Two, but the machine informs her that the glitch in the platform has been fixed. Walters leaves, but not before K.E.V.I.N. teases her about getting a movie, only to say he was joking.

Daredevil smiles at Jen

Back at Summer Twilights, She-Hulk arrives back and approaches Phelps, who thinks she is going to kill him. Walters simply tells him she will see him in court as Todd and those involved are arrested. Titania gets interviewed and Daredevil suddenly arrives to help, but is informed he is too late. Walters talks to Blonsky about his parole violation before leaving. He understands and signs a piece of paper agreeing to return to prison for the remainder of his sentence.

At the Walters' home, the family has dinner with Murdock. Morris Walters talks to Murdock about his intentions, but he assures them he is just visiting. Bruce Banner arrives saying he was on Sakaar for a little bit. He then announces that he has a son: Skaar. In the next days, Walters is cleared of her crimes as she heads to the courthouse to prosecute Todd and Intelligencia. A reporter asks Walters if she will come after people as She-Hulk or Walters. She replies saying both. Later, Blonsky is broken out by Wong.

Trivia[]

  • The writer's room scene includes three of the show's actual writing staff, Jessica Gao, Zeb Wells and Cody Ziglar, with only Wells earning a credit ("Ham Guy", because he's cutting a slab of ham). The ones who talk to She-Hulk are played by actors, but are meant to represent Gao and Wells given they are listed in the credits as Jessica and Zeb.
  • While asking She-Hulk to revert back to her human form to save cost, K.E.V.I.N. mentions that the Marvel Studios visual effects team has moved to "another project", accompanied by an audio cue of Ludwig Göransson's "Black Panther" theme.
