Troll Lords

The Troll Lords (also known as Rock Trolls) are a race of trolls that live in the Nine Realms.

War of the Realms[]

When the Rainbow Bridge was destroyed, the Troll Lords, having coveted the Dwarven Forges for many millennia, attacked Nidavellir, knowing that without the ability to use the Bifrost, Asgard could not come to defend King Eitri and his people. Using the power of the Tesseract, Heimdall was able to rebuild the bridge and aid Nidavellir; the Rock Trolls were defeated by Thor and the Einherjar.^[1]

Alternate Universe Versions[]

Rock Trolls Uprising[]

In an alternate universe, the Rock Trolls were enslaved by the Vanir and forced to work on Vanaheim, having been taken from their homeworld of Nornheim. Ulik tried to lead an uprising, but ultimately failed and the rock trolls remained enslaved. Loki saw Ulik's depression as an opportunity and offered Ulik the chance to return to Nornheim in return for Ulik keeping Thor busy while he attempted to prove himself worthy to rule Asgard.

The trolls attacked Thor as he attempted to find a power core for Frostgrinder, but Thor defeated them. Thor found a troll lifting the Skraeling onto a platform, but Thor defeated them as well. Several rock trolls attempted to prevent Thor from reaching Frostgrinder, but failed. Thor found Ulik preparing to return to Nornheim, when Loki appeared and demanded that he allow Thor to return to Asgard. This angered Ulik, who demanded that his forces attack Thor. Thor defeated the Rock Trolls and their War Beast, before defeating Ulik himself.^[2]
