Progress is the third episode of the first season of the web series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Slingshot.

Synopsis[]

Yo-Yo is eager to further her personal mission, but must first report to the lab. While Fitz-Simmons complete Yo-Yo's Inhuman registration, she must find a way to continue her secret agenda, and hide the truth from Mack.

Plot[]

Having stolen Jeffrey Mace's lanyard, Yo-Yo Rodriguez accesses one of the computers in the Playground's Laboratory and uses the facial recognition system to find Victor Ramon. As she does so, however, Jemma Simmons and Leo Fitz enter the lab, arguing over whether to keep an 80-inch television in their bedroom.

The two place the argument on hold as Simmons checks Rodriguez's pulse and Fitz upgrades her watch. When Simmons complains about a door being left open, Rodriguez uses her powers to knock over some equipment and temporarily distract them from seeing the computer.

To prolong the diversion, Rodriguez suggests that Fitz and Simmons look for an apartment. Intrigued, Simmons leaves the lab as Fitz chastises Rodriguez for making Simmons obsessed with the idea. He informs her that the now-upgraded watch will allow S.H.I.E.L.D. to monitor her powers before leaving the lab. As he does, Rodriguez checks the computer terminal, which reveals that Ramon is in Baltimore, Maryland.

In the hallway, Rodriguez runs into Alphonso Mackenzie, who is preparing to board the Zephyr One and help Phil Coulson search for Quake. He informs her that he will be her case officer, a position that he requested in order to spend time with her. Mack then offers to take Rodriguez out to dinner, to which she agrees. She kisses his cheek and advises him to stay safe before he leaves.

As Rodriguez watches the Zephyr depart, Melinda May enters the hangar and hints to Rodriguez that she knows who stole Mace's lanyard.
