Korath was the head of Ronan the Accuser's army. He was sent to Morag to recover the Orb and encountered Star-Lord, who hired him and recruited him to help steal the Embers of Genesis.
Biography[]
New Hero[]
Joining the Ravagers[]
Korath worked for the powerful Ronan the Accuser and was tasked with obtaining the Power Stone from Morag. When he arrived with his Sakaarans, he found Star-Lord already obtaining the stone. Although knowing his mission, he could not help but praise Star-Lord for his reputation across the galaxy. However, Korath knew he had to stop Star-Lord, so the latter allowed Korath to take a shot. The two fought until Korath was easily knocked out by his idol. T'Challa then grabbed Korath and carried him out.
Korath was brought to Contraxia where he officially joined the Ravagers and met their members. He was particularly fond of Thanos, a former kingpin who went straight, following a talk with T'Challa. However, Korath also learned of Thanos' former plan of global genocide. This made Korath call him the nickname, Captain Genocide.[2]
Stealing the Embers[]
The Ravagers were then met by Nebula who proposed an idea to steal the Embers of Genesis from the Collector. Although Yondu Udonta was reluctant to go along with it, he decided to. In order to distract the Black Order, Korath and Thanos staged a fight. Thanos brutally beat up Korath, who called him Captain Genocide multiple times. The crew was eventually arrested. They were soon broken out by Nebula, who helped them escape Knowhere with the Embers and rendezvous with Star-Lord.[2]
Journey to Earth[]
Learning about his past, Star-Lord and the Ravagers went to Earth to meet with T'Challa's real family. They arrived and introduced themselves before partying. Korath talked to T'Challa's sister, Shuri, and bragged about him and T'Challa being best friends.[2]
Personality[]
This section needs a rewrite |
In contrast to the unexpressive and unrelenting nature of his counterpart of the main timeline, this Korath is jovial and jubilant. His most defining trait is his idolization of Star-Lord, displaying his admiring behavior during their first encounter and later as a member of the Ravagers. When given the opportunity to spar with his idol, Korath was reluctant to use lethal force against him, and became worried when he successfully hit him.
Korath is also shown to have little loyalty to Ronan the Accuser, as he deserted the Kree Empire to join the Ravagers after meeting Star-Lord.

Trivia[]
- The admiration Korath feels for T'Challa is a reference to the fact that Korath's actor Djimon Hounsou previously voiced the character of T'Challa/Black Panther in the short-lived television series Black Panther.
