Biography[]
Nova Prime[]
A Forced Hand[]
- "Out of options, Nova Prime made a desperate call. She locked down Xandar behind an impenetrable Planetary Shield designed to last for fifty years, putting the planet out of his reach. Xandar was saved for the time being. But at what cost?"
- âNebula[src]
Rael and her team arrived at the wreckage of the Sanctuary as Ronan the Accuser had killed Thanos and laid waste to the place. Amongst the wreckage, Rael found Nebula and decided to bring her in, telling Nebula to take her hand.
Nebula soon became a loyal member of the Nova Corps. One day, Ronan came to Xandar for more and wanted to lay waste to the planet. Rael was forced to activate the Planetary Shield, knowingly putting Xandar in isolation for the next fifty years, leading to a dark age.[1]
Breaking Her Oath[]
Five years later, Rael grew restless of the isolation as Xandar was only getting worse. She divised a plan to access the Xandarian Mainframe Core source codes in order to open the Planetary Shield and let Ronan the Accuser in, effectively surrending. However, she quickly realized she could only access the codes using a cyborg. Luckily, she already had a cyborg on her side with Nebula.
When Yondu Udonta found the source codes, Rael ordered his death, allowing Nebula to find the source codes in her investigation, starting the plan with an unknowing Nebula. Rael soon called Nebula and apologized for what happened to Udonta. She then asked Nebula to switch to a secure line and talked to her anout a possible consipracy. She told Nebula to find out what was happening using any means necessary.[1]
Recruting Yon-Rogg[]
Knowing Nebula would need someones help with hacking into the Xandarian Mainframe Core, Rael figured Nebula would use prisoner, Yon-Rogg. This, Rael contacted the prisoner early and told him what to do. Rael waited outside the facility holding the core as Yon-Rogg returned to her, having accessed the source codes on a flash drive. Suddenly, an injured Nebula arose in the waters.
Nebula was disappointed and said to see Rael's betrayal. However, Rael explained what she thought was right and claimed there was no shame in surrender. She then left Nebula to the hands of Garthan Saal and the Nova Corps. Saal soon returned, reporting Nebula as deceased.[1]
The Fall of Nova Prime[]
Back at the Nova Corps Headquarters, Rael used the flash drive to access the Planetary Shield. However, Rael soon saw a living Nebula on the security cameras using a Yaka Arrow to mow through the guards. When Nebula entered the room, Rael opened the shield, letting Ronan the Accuser inside. That was not the end though, as the shield started closing again, effectively killing Ronan as the shield closed onto the Dark Aster.
Nebula then went on to explain that when Rael said to use any means necessary, Nebula knew she broke the oath and put her own spin on the source codes. Rael then ordered her men to kill Nebula and her squad as she escaped. Nebula chased Rael to an elevator. Luckily, the elevator closed before Nebula could follow with only the arrow nearly piercing Rael who snapped it in half.
Rael then reached a Star Blaster and hopped in, only to find Nebula on the back of it. Rael tried to push Nebula off by stomping on her fingers, but this caused her to lose control, sending them both to the surface. Rael was launched off, but managed to grab hold of the edge of the building. Instead of killing her, Nebula showed mercy and tried to give Rael a hand. However, Rael would not go down easy and she shot at Nebula, missing, and causing her to fall off to her doom.[1]
Personality[]
This section needs a rewrite |
In contrast to her counterpart from the main universe, this Irani is darker, manipulative, and delusional due to seeing the direction in which Xandar went after sealing itself off from the rest of the galaxy. She is willing to make shady deals as a way to restore peace. She also appears to be a hypocrite, as she delusionally blames Nebula for the status of Xandar despite the fact that it was her own decision to protect the city from Ronan that led to Xandar's downfall and that Nebula had nothing to do at all. This shows that, in her own delusion, she refuses to take responsibility for her own actions and resorts to putting the blame on someone else even if it isn't the truth.
