The Landkreuzer[1] was a super-heavy tank used by HYDRA during World War II.
History[]
This tank was one of the advanced weapons developed by HYDRA, the special weapons division of the Nazi Schutzstaffel. It was more than three times larger than normal tanks of its time.
When the HYDRA commander Johann Schmidt invaded TĂžnsberg, Norway in 1942, one of these tanks was part of his invasion force. Once he found the Tesseract, Schmidt ordered his men to destroy the village, and the tank was used in that monstrous task.
Captain America managed to destroy one of these tanks, with assistance from the Howling Commandos, during a 1944 raid on a Greek HYDRA factory.[2]
