Pair-a-Gone and On is one of Luigi's minigames in Super Mario 64 DS. It is an endless variation of Pair-a-Gone, but unlike said minigame, Pair-a-Gone and On does not return in New Super Mario Bros..

Gameplay[]

The minigame is largely identical to Pair-a-Gone, given that it is a variation of it. The player has to match any two cards adjacent to each other either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Whenever all cards in a set are matched, Luigi deals out more to replace them. The minigame only ends once the player cannot match any more cards, in which case it is a Game Over, and the player's score is recorded.

There are a total of ten card types, half of which are available from the start and the other of half are added as the minigame progresses. The five starter types include Mario, Mushroom, Fire Flower, Star, and Cloud. The five types added later on include Luigi, Goomba, Bowser, Boo, and Yoshi. The only difference between this configuration and Pair-a-Gone is that the Luigi card type is not available from the start.
