Belunka

Belunkas (tentative name, ホエーラ Hoeera) are giant, flying green whales that appear in Kid Icarus: Uprising. They are unquestionably among the largest enemies that Pit encounters in the game and act as vessels for carrying other Underworld monsters. These mighty creatures are encountered early on in Chapter 2, where a Belunka pursues Pit through a narrow canyon, attempting to eat him.

Physical Appearance[]

The Belunka is a green, whale-like monster with a light purple underbelly. It has red eyes, which matches its gold and red crown, and the accessories on its tail and underside.

The Belunka is incapable of directly attacking its foes, only possessing the ability to spawn enemies through its enormous mouth. The inside of its mouth also serves as its weak point.

Belunka is a living troop transport that loads smaller Underworld forces in its mouth—also its weak point—and then vomits them out onto the battlefield. Take down Belunka, and you'll also destroy all the enemies inside!

• The Belunka is likely based on the Greek mythological creature Cetus, as it shares its Spanish and Italian name with the sea monster.
• Its English name may be derived from the Beluga whale, as well as the word "bunker."
