"There's someone I want to be happy."
―Kyuun stating his motive to the other Supporters.[src]

Kyuun (キューン, Kyūn) is an audience member of the Desire Grand Prix and Neon Kurama's supporter who transforms into Kamen Rider Kyuun (仮面ライダーキューン, Kamen Raidā Kyūn).

History

Background

Kyuun was born sometime in the distant future and became an audience member of the Desire Grand Prix. He invited Neon Kurama to the Desire Grand Prix, intrigued by her desire to find true love and happiness.

Divergence Arc

Kyuun talks to Neon

Kyuun lecturing Neon's behavior as the Dezastar.

Kyuun overheard the conversation Neon had with Ace and Keiwa regarding the Dezastar, though he claimed he did not know what the term meant. After the trio left, Neon had accidentally left her mirror at the restaurant, prompting Kyuun to return it to her. However upon meeting, Kyuun chastised Neon for putting the blame of something she did on someone else, and clarified that although he watched Neon TV, he wasn't a fan.

Kyuun's letter

Kyuun's letter.

"To my beloved Neon... I was so devastated when they found out that you were the Dezastar. But don't give up, because I know that one day you will be blessed with true love. I pray with all my heart that you'll find your happiness. Even if it means making the whole world your enemy, I will always be right here by your side. Love, Kyuun."
―Kyuun's letter to Neon[src]

When the Desire Grand Prix was temporarily paused, Kyuun wrote a letter for Neon, gifting her a Mission Box containing the Feverslot Buckle. After the start of the Jyamato Grand Prix, Kyunn communicated with Neon using a letter that generated text typed on a tablet.

Lamentation Arc

Ace confronts Kyuun

Kyuun gets confronted by Ace.

Geats 30

Kyuun transforms to protect an injured Neon Kurama.

Kyuun continues his hot-and-cold style of communication with Neon until she eventually catches onto him, though his inability to properly communicate his true feelings leads him to put up his blunt side again, putting her off. Once Beroba exposes the truth of Neon's origins to the DGP audience, Kyuun tries to confront Kousei Kurama, Neon's father, in the audience room, though he is left feeling conflicted over Kousei's seemingly cold response to the entire situation. However, through some discreet nudging from Ace, Kyuun would be pushed to finally reveal his true feelings towards Neon, assisting her against the Dunkleosteus Jyamato during the final round of the Jyamato Grand Prix's Bullfighting game. After the battle was concluded, Kyuun left together with Neon.

Yearning Arc

Ziin and Kyuun's Farewell

Ziin and Kyuun's farewell before going back to their era.

As the Grand End commenced, Kyuun approached Neon with the intent to make her remember her promise of going back to the future with him. After being stopped by John and Ben, Kyunn ultimately was forced to leave. Kyuun later said his goodbyes to Neon before returning to the future with Ziin.

Genesis Arc

After the end of the final battle with Ace completely defeating Suel and remaking the world, Kyuun returns to the present, now assisting Neon in filming her live streams. He suggests to Neon that he should help produce some of her content, though he is still embarrassed by his occasional bluntness, much to Neon's amusement as she sets out to chase after her "prince charming".

Kyuun's Letter

Neon reads Kyuun's letter.

Although Kyuun isn't present in the film, Neon was seen chasing a similar-looking prince with letters falling out of his hands in her dream sequence. At the end of the film, Neon reads a letter written by him asking about her Christmas plans.

Personality

Kyuun is a highly blunt and straight-forward person, and can be rude at first glance, making negative judgments on Neon when they meet for the first time, claiming that she's an egoistic and naive girl. However in contrast to his demeanor when they meet face to face, in his letters, he's shown to truly care for her and sympathizes with her for her family situation and wants to make her the happiest person, even standing by her side if the world turns on her.

Due to his own inability to verbally express his feelings to Neon, he relies on his letters to convey them and did not reveal his identity as "Kyuun" when initially meeting her in person. Eventually, he learns to express his written words in person, and vocalizes his true words without the need to write them on paper.

Rider Statistics[1]

  • Rider Weight: 240.6 kg
Ability Parameters
  • Punching Power: 33.5 t
  • Kicking Power: 46.8 t
  • Maximum Jump Height: 36.3 m
  • Maximum Running Speed: 100 m per 2.4 seconds

Kamen Rider Kyuun is accessed by inserting the Kyuun Raise Riser Card in the Laser Raise Riser.

Kyuun's punching power is higher than Ziin's, but his kicking power and maximum running speed are lower. His maximum jump height is the same as Ziin's, though makes up for it with his ability to fly. To compensate the lack of wielding his own Laser Raise Riser, Kyuun has the ability to shoot blasts of yellow energy from his mouth.

Kamen Rider Kyuun consists of the following parts:

  • Kyuun Head (キューンヘッド, Kyūn Heddo): The head.
    • Kyuun Ear (キューンイヤー, Kyūn Iyā): The ears. Custom-tuned Dimensional Communication allows the user to hear the voice of the support target wherever they are.
    • Sentinel Yellow (センチネルイエロー, Senchineru Ierō): The compound eyes. The simultaneous deployment of multiple views makes it possible to constantly check the trends of supported target.
    • Inrealiser (インリアライザー, Inriaraizā): The input device. It is equipped with a function that reads the "Design Ability" (デザイン力, Dezain-ryoku), the power possessed by the Rider to produce and coordinate their ideal self, and transmits this information to the Outrealiser, a design device for output on the abdomen.
    • Kyuun Caller (キューンコーラー, Kyūn Kōrā): The audio output device. Equipped with a function to convert the intentions of the Rider into voice, communication between Kamen Riders is achieved by voice chat.
  • Outrealiser (アウトリアライザー, Autoriaraizā): The output device. The information read by the Inrealiser, a design device for input in the head, is output as the Kamen Rider's ability.
  • Monochromer (モノクローマー, Monokurōmā): The armor, composed of cubic Meta Materials, provides excellent shock absorption due to its flexibility to expand and contract approximately 1,000 times. This makes even a direct hit from a tank gun nearly ineffective.
  • Raise Riser Belt (レイズライザーベルト, Reizu Raizā Beruto): The energy source. By establishing a private network through the virtual world with the Laser Raise Riser, the user can remotely control the item and receive a wireless energy supply.
  • Dimension Wing (ディメンションウイング, Dimenshon Uingu): The wings. It enables not only high-speed flight but also travel to and from the virtual world, and its speed increases with the wistful emotions of the transformed person.
  • Designerly Leg (デザイナリーレッグ, Dezainarī Reggu): The four legs. It has a structure that extends and strengthens the lion-shaped legs through the Design Ability of the Rider, and produces tremendous leg strength according to their intention. This allows them to run in space.
  • Kyuun Claw (キューンクロー, Kyūn Kurō): The claws. The sharp claws, filled with energy, have the power to cut through not only matter, but even space.

Relationships

Allies

  • Neon Kurama/Kamen Rider Na-Go: Being Neon's sponsor, Kyuun genuinely wishes her to find genuine love, evidenced by the letters he sends to her. When meeting in person, Kyuun tends to insult Neon, much to her dismay. Kyunn later said to Kousei, Neon's father, that his true feelings were difficult to express and thus chose to write them down via letters. Neon later admitted that she knew he was her supporter, Kyuun all along, though initially she was disappointed to hear that his insulting nature was his true self and not the one his letters portray. Ultimately, after listening to Beroba exposing Neon's past and painting her in a negative light of the DGP audience, Kyuun finally conveys his true feelings without using his letters and expresses to Neon that he'll become her ally even if the world becomes her enemy.
