Its Evil Ranking[]
What Makes It Heinous?[]
- Throughout the episode, The Jelly Monster brutally murders several children by eating their bones, leaving behind their skin.
- It attempted to kill the Simpson family when they arrived on the Blarg aliens planet.
- While initially it's assumed the Jelly Monster is attacking out of being scared, this is soon proven false when it attacks Milhouse when he tries to befriend it.
- Unlike many villains from The Simpsons, the Jelly Monster, while a parody of Calvin from the 2017 movie Life, isn't really played for laughs all that much, with its gruesome child murders being played for horror, rather than for laughs.
- It doesn’t have many comedic moments, and the ones it does have only showcase its heinousness like using a child skin as a napkin, or eating Martin’s before Martin could finish his misanthropic speech.
- Due to the episode being non-canon, the Jelly Monster doesn't have to compete with the likes of Sideshow Bob or Russ Cargill.
What Makes It Inconsistent?[]
- It has severe moral agency issues due to being made of Cranberry jelly, with it only displaying animalistic-like behavior and eating the bones of children out of hunger, rather than malice or sadism. This also makes it hard to judge if it's aware of how heinous its actions are.
- It arugably redeemed itself at the end of the episode, willingly sacrificing itself to be a side dish for the Blarg aliens for Blargsgiving.
