William MacDougal, better known as Groundskeeper Willie, is the main antagonist of the "Nightmare on Evergreen Terrace", the second segment of The Simpsons Halloween special episode "Treehouse of Horror VI."
His Evil Ranking[]
What Makes Him Heinous?[]
- He attacked various kids through their dreams with intent to kill them, with it being made clear that any harm he does to them in the dreams happens to them in real life.
- He slashed Bart with a rake, causing massive scratches across his belly, and attacked Lisa with hedge clippers, causing bits of her hair to fall off.
- When Martin fell asleep in class, he strangled him to death.
- Martin's body then traumatized the rest of the class and the kindergarteners.
- Willie's threat of killing kids in their sleep ended up prompting the Simpsons kids to avoid falling asleep before they realize they won't be able to stay awake forever, showing he managed to make the kids too scared to go to bed.
- When Bart fell asleep in an effort to confront Willie, he once again attempted to kill him by running him over as a drivable lawn mower.
- He attempted to suffocate Bart and Lisa by dragging them down into a sandbox.
- After his unexplained revival, he immediately confronted the Simpsons with intent on vengeance, only failing because his gun was still on the bus.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is played for laughs for a majority of the episode, with him being a parody of Freddy Krueger.
- He has a tragedy of being set on fire and everybody ignoring his pleas for help as he burned to death.
Trivia[]
- In typical "Treehouse of Horror" fashion of parodying pop culture, the "Nightmare on Evergreen Terrace" segment parodies the Nightmare on Elm Street, with Groundskeeper Willie filling a similar role to that of Freddy Krueger, who is Pure Evil.
