Evangelions can be outfitted with several different sets of additional equipment depending of the mission, some are for support and some are for offensive tactics.

(B型装備(通常装備)) The standard Evangelion armor. It is unsuited for use in combat underwater, or in extreme conditions.
D-Type Equipment (D型装備) [Heat and Pressure-Resistant Armor][]
Type D Equipment
(D型装備（耐熱耐圧耐核装甲）) Used in Episode 10; a giant diving suit filled with coolant tubes which allows an Eva to be lowered into the magma of an active volcano, serving to protect it from extreme heat and pressure. The shoulder pylons are removed in this configuration. Used in conjunction with a pressurized plugsuit for the pilot.

Aerial Recon S-Type Equipment[]

(空中挺進専用S型装備) First seen in the trailer at the end of 1.0, equipped to the Unit-02. It is then indeed seen in Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance during the battle against the Seventh Angel. The equipment consists of jetpack parts which are attached in lieu of the shoulder pylons and new, more aerodynamic protrusion pieces for the forearms.
Pod and Large Boosters[]

Used in Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo during Operation US, the pod and boosters allowed for combat in space and safe orbital reentry. This equipment was used by both Evangelion Unit-02 (Rebuild) and Evangelion Unit-08 and their individual pods were painted to match the users color.
Unnamed Flight Pack[]

Used in Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo by Evangelion Mark.09 during the siege on the AAA Wunder, this pack is amorphous and can potentially take different forms to serve different purposes as needed. During this battle, it takes what appears to be a standby form before transforming into a large booster which enabled powered flight and allowed Mark.09 to escape extremely quickly.
Dragon Carrier[]

Used in Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon A Time by Evangelion Unit-08y during Operation Yamato, the dragon carrier is a backpack which stores a wide variety of weapons and is deployed by ejecting portions of the carrier.
Unnamed Landing Pack[]

Used in Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon A Time by New Unit-02α during Operation Yamato, this backpack has large rockets to allow for rocket assisted descent as well as a variety of missile weapons. The pack is discarded by Unit-02 after landing.

Evangelion Unit-00 Type-F
(F型装備（フィールド偏向制御運用実験機AFCエクスペリメント）) First seen in Neon Genesis Evangelion 2 and in the Super Robot Wars series of video games thereafter, as well as in Neon Genesis Evangelion: ANIMA. The F-Type Equipment [A.T. Field Control Experiment] was developed by Ritsuko Akagi for an exclusive use by the Evangelion Unit-01 (although parts of it would later be used on a repaired Unit-00 and Unit-02). Although it decreases the maneuverability of the unit because of its weight, the equipment makes up for it by making extensive use of the deflection of the A.T. Field naturally emitted by the Unit-01 allowing it to augment it into very durable shields or even for use as a weapon. This reinforces the armor, adds extra power to propel the unit when it jumps or even enables the use of antiphase weapons like the Impact Bolt (used to paralyze an enemy or tear through its A.T. Field) equipped in each of the shoulder pylons. Also, the shoulder pylons house each a Progressive Dagger, an evolution of the Progressive Knife.

Land-Only A-Type Equipment [Land War Equipment][]
Seen in Neon Genesis Evangelion Proposal, it is the standard Evangelion armor of this continuity.
S-Type Equipment [Space Combat Use][]
(S型装備（宇宙空間戦闘用）) Mentioned in Super Robot Wars Alpha. It does not appear visually different from the default equipment, and merely serves as an explanation for how the Evangelion were able to fight in space.
C-Type Equipment [Flight-Use Equipment][]
(C型装備（飛行用装備）) Seen in Neon Genesis Evangelion RPG: The NERV White Paper. This special equipment was developed to enable the flight of an Evangelion unit, but is mainly considered a failure because of the numerous drawbacks and the high construction costs.
V-Type Equipment [Flight-Use Equipment][]
(V型装備（飛行用装備）) Seen in Neon Genesis Evangelion RPG: The NERV White Paper. Developed from the C-Type Equipment. Though this equipment is quite performant, it is, like its predecessor, a failure because of its high production cost.
METAL BUILD Original Equipment[]

Metal Build Original Equipment for Unit-01
It was included in the METAL BUILD EVA-01 Test Type, released in November 2019. A set of extra options to be used in the Unit-01. It includes additional armor on the legs, googles that covers the eyes and a thigh hardpoint system that can carry multiple weapons. According to Ikuto Yamashita comments, the whole design is based on the idea of the project that Gendo Ikari would put on paper before the construction of the Evangelion, with a multitude of weapons that could be used depending of the situation.

(ヘッドセット) It was included in the METAL BUILD EVA-02 Production Model, released in November 2019. There are two types of headsets designed by Ikuto Yamashita. One is a simple headset, and the other also have four lenses that covers the eyes of the Evangelion.[1]

It is described to be a battery that can be connected into the energy plug that can be attached to the shoulder, thighs pylons or special support.
