Neon Genesis Evangelion: Battle OrchestraWP (新世紀エヴァンゲリオン バトルオーケストラ, Shin Seiki Evangerion Batoru Okesutora?) is a fighting video game produced by BROCCOLIWP for PlayStation 2 released on 28 June 2007. It was later re-released for PSP as Neon Genesis Evangelion: Battle Orchestra PORTABLE (新世紀エヴァンゲリオン バトルオーケストラ PORTABLE, Shin Seiki Evangerion Batoru Okesutora PORTABLE?) on 30 July 2009 with additional content. The game features a total of 21 (24 for PSP) characters from the anime TV series, both Evangelions and Angels, from Neon Genesis Evangelion fighting each other in an all-out battle royale.

The game is a side-scrolling 2D fighting game with fully 3D rendered characters, backgrounds, and environments, similar in spirit to the Super Smash BrosWP games.

Gameplay[]

The game is a 2D side-scroller with characters, sets and environments made in 3D. Rumble mode allows you to face up to three opponents at a time. The PlayStation 2 version allows up to four controllers to be connected, while the PlayStation Portable version uses wireless connection. An Endless mode and a Training mode are also available. The Story Mode features six individual arcs for Shinji Ikari, Asuka Langley Sohryu, Tōji Suzuhara, Kensuke Aida, Rei Ayanami and Kaworu Nagisa. Each story actually has a different difficulty level and each story has its own ending. In addition to being a reissue of the game on PlayStation Portable, the game offers new content as well as a Missions mode. It consists of a series of 100 different objectives. Most consist of defeating the Angels by completing certain conditions or with particular constraints.
