Farewell the Sea is the one hundred and eighty-first episode of Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, and the first episode of season fifteen.

Plot[]

Miss Demeanor and her gang are in the midst of stealing a cargo of vengestone when they are attacked by a group of shadowy assailants. However, these strangers prove to be the New Ninja, rather than the Ninja Miss Demeanor was hoping for a rematch against. She manages to escape just before the Police Commissioner and Gayle Gossip arrive; the Commissioner is baffled by the New Ninja, unaware that he is being observed by a strange mechanical spider. Upon learning of the New Ninja from a news story, Cole is outraged at the organization of this new team by Mayor Trustable, but Zane has disabled his emotions and doesn't react as Cole would expect.

Worried about the ongoing vengestone situation, Cole approaches Wu, who is engaged in research attempting to find a way to bring Nya back. Wu agrees with his reasoning that they should regather the team, and Cole and Zane go to collect Kai, now acting as instructor to a particularly aggressive set of martial arts classes. He cites their battle with Kalmaar and Nya's loss for his new approach, but quickly agrees to rejoin the team. Lloyd, meanwhile, has gotten a job as a window washer, no longer wishing to bear responsibility for leading others into danger.

In another news story, Gayle Gossip notes that a memorial service involving lanterns set afloat on the sea is planned that night for Nya, as a year has passed since her sacrifice. The Ninja travel to Dr. Julien's lighthouse where they find Jay, who feels like Nya has been forgotten by everyone. He is proven wrong by the arrival of a fleet of memorial lanterns, and Lloyd arrives via APS suit after realizing that Nya wouldn't want any of them to give up. He and Jay agree to join the others in their new mission, in honor of Nya.
