The Crystal King gloats over Lloyd, noting that he, his father Garmadon, and grandfather the First Spinjitzu Master each "failed" in their efforts to stop him. In the face of Lloyd's bravado, the Crystal King infuses the members of his council with new powers. The Four Golden Weapons, now infused with his power as well, are distributed to Aspheera, the Mechanic, Mr. F, Pythor, and Vangelis. The Crystal King then lifts the crystalized Oni Temple into the sky and offers Lloyd the chance to join Harumi at his side.
Lloyd refuses, and instead breaks free of his chains and damages the crystal lifting the temple and flees. After stabilizing the temple, the Crystal King sends his council members after the Green Ninja, though Harumi still wishes to attempt to reason with him. The Crystal King denies her reasoning; meanwhile, the other council members prove to have no such qualms as they attempt to eliminate Lloyd. Meanwhile, the Crystal King uses his powers to bring his Vengestone Army to life just as the generals-minus Harumi-corner Lloyd.
The Green Ninja attempts to reason with the generals, but when they fail to heed him he manages to dodge their attack and continue fleeing. Harumi, catching up to her peers, sends the other generals in the wrong direction before confronting Lloyd and attempting to convince him to join their side. Lloyd refuses and then grabs Harumi before leaping from the temple towards Primeval's Eye below, and the pair survive the plunge by landing in a river. Back at the Samurai X Cave, Lloyd's allies are working on new vehicles when they detect his signal in Primeval's Eye. The group, determined to save him, agree that they will have to break the law once again in order to recover the vehicles impounded by the Ninjago Police.
Harumi warns the council members not to let the Golden Weapons come into contact, repeating warnings from earlier int ehs eries about the danger of all four being united.
