Napp is a minor antagonist in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, serving as the main antagonist of the Twisted Firestarter side quest. He is a drunken resident of White Orchard who hates non-humans.
Biography[]
Before the events of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Napp lived peacefully in the White Orchard until the Nilfgaardian Empire conquered the said Orchard. After the Nilfgaardians captured the white orchard, his mother died, which led to Napp becoming addicted to alcohol and feeling hatred, especially for the dwarf Willis, a blacksmith who works for the Nilfgaardian garrison.
Out of hatred towards Willis, Napp believed that he was profiting from helping the Nilfgaardians and decided to go to Willis' workshop at night while drunk. Then he threw a lit torch onto the roof of Willis' workshop, causing a fire and burning down the entire building. Despite his alcohol-induced sobriety, Napp managed to erase most of the traces that might have led to his trail by taking off his shoes and swimming across the shallow river. When Napp managed to get out of the water, unfortunately he encountered drowners where he was afraid and was injured by them, but he still managed to go home.
While spending time in the white orchard, Geralt took over the job with the arsonist, and after being hired by Willis, Geralt was looking for traces left by the arsonist, so he could effectively find and meet Napp. And when the two met, Geralt asks Napp to go to Willis, and Napp, who is still drunk, reacts ungratefully, telling him that he does not want to talk to the dwarves and accuses Willis of collaborating with Nilfgaard only for his own benefits. And when Napp calmed down, he tried to convince Geralt not to tell Willis or the Nilfgaardians because he would give him his money.
If we accept the bribe from Napp, Geralt will prove to Napp that he will not tell anyone, and when we go to Willis, Geralt will lie that he failed to find the arsonist.
If we refuse, Napp is furious and threatens Geralt with fistfights, depending on whether we decide to fight with fists or be hypnotized by the witcher's Axii sign. Napp is defeated. After Geralt transferred Napp to Willis, the dwarf reacted with shock and disappointment, revealing to Geralt that he knew Napp's mother and that he had not charged his mother for his services for a long time. Out of bitterness, Willis summons the Nilfgaardian soldiers and despite Napp's begging for forgiveness that he was drunk and didn't know what he was doing, Willis still explained to the Nilfgaardians that Napp was an arsonist. Due to setting fire to a workshop that was for the army, Napp was sentenced to death by hanging for sabotage.
