~ Melvin to Chicken Little and his dad when realizing he and his wife left Kirby behind by mistake.
Melvin is the main antagonist of Disney’s 46th full-length animated feature film Chicken Little.
He is a furry three-eyed red alien who is the leader of The Aliens, the husband of Tina, and the father of Kirby. He started the invasion of Oakey Oaks with the aliens to retrieve his son after the latter suddenly went missing from his parents.
He was voiced by the late Fred Willard, who also voiced Swindle in Transformers: Animated and the Boogey Man in The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy.
Each year, during visits to their in-laws from another planet, the aliens stop at Oakey Oaks to collect acorns, which only grow on Earth. They also indirectly cause Chicken Little to become the town's laughing stock when a panel form their ship falls and hits him, leading him to mistakenly believe it’s a piece of the sky. This incident triggers panic in Oakey Oaks and results in Chicken Little being accused of insanity as he is unable to provide the evidence.
A year later, the same panel hit Chicken Little on the head, prompting him to gather his friends Abby Mallard, Runt, and Fish to investigate. When Fish accidentally gets taken aboard the aliens' ship, they rush to rescue him. When they reunite, Runt discover a map in which they believe that depicts choosing Earth as a target for an invasion.
While fleeing the ship to warn the town, they accidentally run into the aliens parents, Melvin and Tina, who believe Chicken Little and his friends kidnapped their son, Kirby. The two aliens chased Chicken Little and his friends out of their spaceship and into a cornfield, while Kirby follows them as he wanders away from the ship. When Chicken Little tries to warn everyone about the aliens, Melvin and Tina headed back for their ship and escape, causing everyone to believe Chicken Little is back to his delusional self again and making Chicken Little’s embarrassed father, Buck Cluck, refuse to believe him, even when Chicken Little tries desperately in detailing the spaceship and when his friends vouch for his claims. However, Melvin and Tina accidentally left Kirby behind on Earth, who then follows Chicken Little home, as he is only earthling he recognized.
Still believing Chicken Little and his friends kidnap Kirby, Melvin and Tina launch a full-scale invasion with their planet's armada to retrieve him, causing chaos in Oakey Oaks, and teleporting people and objects into a chamber aboard the UFO, keeping them imprisoned aboard the UFO. To end the invasion and save their town, Chicken Little, Buck, and his friends devise a plan to return Kirby to his parents. However, Chicken Little and Buck were abducted by Melvin and are stuck in a spaceship. Melvin suddenly uses his dark Satan-like voice to them by furiously berating at both of them for "kidnaping" his son. Buck tries to tell Melvin that his son did not take their child and that he was the one who abandoned him and that it's bad parenting. But Melvin, however, doesn’t believe them and yells "SILENCE", really loud and makes them let go of Kirby while pointing guns at Chicken Little and Buck to kill them for breaking intergalactic law 90210.
However, Kirby tries to communicate with him by saying Chicken Little and Buck Cluck were telling the truth by admitting they were going to bring him back to him. While, Tina convinces him by agreeing with the Clucks and asks him to remove his darker voice as the duo removes their alien uniforms revealing their true identity specifically, when Melvin removes his dark voice also shows. Later, The Aliens revert the town back to normal where Melvin makes a complete redemption and he and Tina apologies for the whole misunderstanding and for their actions as if they destroyed the earth, where else they get their acorns. Melvin then checks his watch, Melvin says one last goodbye to Chicken Little and Buck and the trio family returns back to their UFO and travels back to space.

And if it hadn't been for your son there, well, we might have vaporized the whole planet. Buck: What? Tina: Oh my goodness! What a shame that would have been. I mean, where else would we pick our acorns? Melvin: We stop here every summer on the way to the in-Iaws. Tina: Every year. Melvin: Oh yeah. Looked on all the other planets and you only find them right here on Earth. Tina: Just as it says here on your primitive graphic display. Melvin: That caught our eyes.

Tina: [sighs] There goes that panel again. Every year we come here, this thing falls off. Seriously honey, someday it's going to hit somebody on the head. Melvin: Nonsense! Tina: You can't return the panel., can ya? Melvin: Now that's ridiculous. Tina: You threw away the receipt again. Melvin: [echoing] Silence! Tina: Melvin, did you just try and use the big voice on me? Melvin: Um... uh... Who we talkin' about?

Trivia[]
Despite him getting most of the attention as the main antagonist, Melvin is less antagonistic than Foxy Loxy, as she specifically bullies Chicken Little, while Melvin meets him at the climax of the film.
Melvin is the first Disney Animated Canon main antagonist to be CGI (not including Kron, as he was designed as a CGI live-action character). All of his predecessors were traditionally animated. He was followed by DOR-15 from Meet the Robinsons.
He is also the first Disney CGI villain to not be distinguished by Pixar.
Melvin has a Mickey Mouse watch with 3 eyes.
Melvin is a foil to Buck Cluck, representing what he could've been had he not reconsider his parental issues towards his son Chicken Little.
