Opal Koboi is the main antagonist of the 2020 Disney film Artemis Fowl, based on the novel of the same name by Eoin Colfer. She is a Pixie who desires world domination and the genocide of humanity.
She was portrayed by Hong Chau, who also portrayed Elsa in The Menu.
History[]
Early life[]
Not much is known about the early life of Opal. She hated humanity and how it defeated the fairy people to control the surface. She decided to steal the Aculos, a powerful fairy artifact, in order to take control of the world and wipe out humanity.
A fairy named Beachwood Short managed to steal the Aculos before Opal could. He gave the Aculos, as well as a list of Opal's accomplices, to Artemis Fowl Sr. Opal found out and killed Bechwood, and kidnapped Artemis Sr.
Film[]
After Opal kidnapped Artemis Senior, she made a ransom call to Artemis Fowl II to demand that he exchange the Aculos in exchange for his father. She then released Briar Cudgeon from prison. She managed to get Cudgeon reinstated in the LEP to work alongside Commander Root. She threatened to kill Cudgeon if he didn't help her.
After Artemis Jr. and his allies retrieved the Aculos, she demanded that Cudgeon unleash the Troll into Fowl Manor. However, the Troll failed to kill them, and the Time Stop ended. Once the time was up, she tried to kill Artemis Sr., but Holly Short used the Aculos to free him.
After her plan failed, Artemis called her to gloat and tell her that he would beat her. She warned him that he didn't know who he was dealing with.
