Biography[]
Azog’s Hunters[]
Lagdush was a Gundabad orc and member of Azog’s Hunter orcs. He was an expert warg rider and tracker amongst Azog’s Hunters for his expert sense of smell. Though not a captain, he was held in high regard amongst Azog’s ranks.
Hunting the Dwarf Party[]
When Yazneg and Fimbul, two of Lagdush’s superiors, had found the Dwarf camp, Fimbul sent word to Azog for reinforcements. Lagdush and many other warg riders were sent to Yazneg’s position.
To help the Dwarf Party, Radagast the Brown forced many of the warg riders to chase him. It worked for a while, even getting Yazneg, Fimbul, and Lagdush to chase after him.
Finding the Dwarf Party and Demise[]
Lagdush stopped chasing Radagast after he and his warg got the scent of the Dwarf Party. The Party was hidden behind a large stone. Lagdush tracked them there. He unsheathed his sword and searched around the rock until Kili had shot his warg with an arrow. Lagdush took out his horn to signal the other orcs, but Kili shot him in the arm. He and his warg collapsed down the rock.
Both still alive, Lagdush and his warg attacked the party. He was first hit by Dwalin‘s hammer, while his warg was stabbed by Bifur. Lagdush himself was then stabbed by Bifur, as Dwalin hit him a second time and Thorin slashed his chest. Still barely alive, Lagdush was finished when Bifur stabbed him in the back with his spear once more.
Aftermath[]
Having screamed while being murdered, Lagdush in a way did alert the other orcs. Yazneg ordered the riders to charge to the area of Lagdush’s screams. Having noticed this, Gandalf ordered the party to run. He continued to lead them to Rivendell until they needed refuge in a cave. They were saved by Elvish riders, whom scared off or killed the other orcs.
