Konni Group, also known as Konni, are the main antagonists of the Call of Duty franchise's Modern Warfare sub series reboot.
They are a Russian private military company led by Vladimir Makarov, the Russian Ultranationalists leader, and are responsible for stealing the three American ballistic missiles from a Shadow Company operation conducted illegally by General Shepherd and giving them to Hassan and Al-Qatala, which ignites the Campaign's story and events.
History[]
Modern Warfare II[]
Konni was contracted by the Russian Ultranationalists to steal American ballistic missiles from an illegal operation performed by General Shepherd and Shadow Company. Intercepting the private military company's convoy, they eliminated the operatives before leaving with the missiles. After the operation, Russia gave Quds Force Major Hassan Zyani the missiles to help him in his plan to get revenge against the United States for General Ghorbrani's assassination.
Before his death, Hadir Karim revealed to his sister Farah, Captain Price and Alex that the Konni are heading to Urzikstan. They are approaching Al Mazrah and have stored missiles and chemical weapons, where they are attacked by Shadow Company once again, but not before having two of their agents infiltrate one of the Shadows' helicopters with the gas and inform their commander they now have secured it.
Modern Warfare III[]
On November 10, 2023, Konni led an assault on the Zordaya Prison Complex in Verdansk, Kastovia, to free their commander Vladimir Makarov, who was imprisoned for four years. The mission went slightly awry as enemy attack helicopters attacked them, which resulted in one of their members getting executed for it. They also got a hold of Farah's missiles supplied by General Shepherd and Sarin gas from General Barkov's program, and loaded the gas into the missiles in order to frame her and the ULF. They launched two of Farah's missiles loaded with Sarin gas and attacked Arklov Military Base, where Kate Laswell was, but she managed to escape, which left 158 dead and 200 injured from the attack.
The next day, on November 11th, a Konni cell, led by Makarov, boarded Flight 761 from Kastovia to Sochi, Russia, which they hijacked under the guise of the ULF. In particular, they managed to find Samara Jalal, who left the ULF. She tried to stop them by fighting back; however, she failed and was knocked unconscious, and was strapped to a bomb pack in front of her as Makarov and his remaining subordinates jumped off the plane, which resulted in Samara and the passengers getting killed. They went to the crash site two hours later to plant evidence to frame the ULF. However, their plan was thwarted by Farah and Alex before the authorities arrived.
Ten days later, on November 21st, Makarov and his men arrived in London to meet with a hacker to upload a Trojan Horse virus to take control of the Channel Tunnel and plant bombs in it. They were again found by TF141 and the SFO, in which they had a gunfight. Afterwards, Soap and Price disarmed the bomb, but not before Makarov and his men intervened and killed Soap. Ghost and Gaz fired back on them, which forced them to retreat.
