The Fiery Dino Piranha is a major antagonist in the 2007 video game Super Mario Galaxy. It is of the same species as the Dino Piranha, which itself is related to the Piranha Plants.
Physical appearance[]
The Fiery Dino Piranha is a black variant of Dino Piranha. It has a black head with red dots. Its leaves (which resemble arms) are yellow and orange, as are the leaves that surround its head. It has white lips, and identical teeth to its non-fiery counterpart. Its body is primarily black, whilst its stomach is white. Its tail is black as is the black sphere at the end of its tail, which occasionally comes ablaze.

Little is known about Dino Piranhas in general, other than they hatch from eggs. The Fiery Dino Piranha is encountered only in Melty Molten Galaxy,
Super Mario Galaxy[]
After Mario arrives in Melty Molten Galaxy during the mission Fiery Dino Piranha, he lands on a giant egg. This cracks it, and begins the hatching process. Similar to the defeat of the original Dino Piranha, Mario must spin-attack by its tail to launch a large sphere into the air. When it returns back, the elastic force from the tail shatters the eggshell. Mario must do this twice more, with increased difficulty, speed and flame intensity.
Super Mario Galaxy 2[]
Fiery Dino Piranha reappeared as the final boss of Boss Blitz Galaxy in the sequel game.
