Bonefins are minor enemies in Super Mario Galaxy. They are sentient fish skeletons that hone in on Mario/Luigi. They are different to Fishbones which are featured in New Super Mario Bros. Bonefins are led by Kingfin.

Super Mario Galaxy[]
Bonefins appear solely in Bonefin Galaxy. They attack Mario/Luigi by locking onto him and propelling themselves towards the player. It is unknown if they have been mechanically engineered by another as they are metallic and have a source of light.
Super Mario Galaxy 2[]
Whilst Bonefins don't make a physical appearance as foes, a fossil of a Bonefin is seen in Yoshi Star Galaxy, suggesting they are ancient.
Physical appearance[]
Bonefins have metallic bodies, consisting of two fins on their head and base of their head, two smaller fins on their tails, red eyes with yellow, luminous mouths. Their teeth resemble bear traps.
