Eddie Knight is a fictional character and reccuring antagonist of the BBC British soap opera EastEnders, serving as a mentioned character in 2023 and a major antagonist in 2024

In his characterisation, Eddie is the adoptive father of established character George Knight. It later turned out that Eddie is responsible for the death of George's biological father Henry Asrae and it leads to a conflict between them that results in Eddie being imprisoned for the crime.

He is portrayed by Christopher Fairbank.

Biography[]

Eddie Knight first came to Albert Square in Walford, a fictional borough in East London, on New Year's Day 2024. Together with his wife Gloria, the couple visited their adopted son George at his new residence - The Queen Victoria public house.

For the next few weeks Eddie seemingly proved to get along with George and his fiancé Elaine Peacock, along with his two daughters Gina and Anna respectively. But it later turned out that Eddie withholds a dark secret that he forces Gloria to conceal from their adopted son. But then George's ex-wife Cindy Beale, formerly Rose at the time Eddie knew her, became suspicious and shared her concerns with George about the fact that Eddie is not being completely honest with him.

This prompted George to do some digging into his past and he learns that he was farmed illegally by Eddie and Gloria. It was then he gradually learned that Eddie is a racist who had previously crossed paths with George's biological father Henry Asrae. In the incident that followed, Eddie murdered Henry after getting his friends to beat him up for him.

Later on George then confronted Eddie for what he did and reported him to the police. Eddie was charged for the crime and due to be put on trial for it. He threatened to hurt Gloria if George testifies against him, but George went ahead and Eddie ultimately found guilty for the crime; Eddie was sentenced to life imprisonment for Henry's murder.
