The Tropical Terror is the fifth and final main stage of Everbay Coast in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. This stage is unlocked after completing Fast-Flowing Waterworks and requires Kirby to have saved at least 19 Waddle Dees in Everbay Coast to enter. In this stage, Kirby does battle with the Whispy relative Tropic Woods in order to free the Waddle Dees in the cage that the tree uses as bait.
There are no Capsules to collect in this stage, but there are five missions to complete. There are a total of seven Waddle Dees to rescue here. The blueprint for Noble Ranger can be found here.
Stage overview[edit]
The stage begins on a high cliff overlooking the sea. Kirby wanders down the path, finding a Maxim Tomato to his left and then turning right past Copy Essences for Needle, Cutter, and Fire. From there, he climbs a very long ladder to get to the top of the cliff. There, he sees the caged Waddle Dees and heads over to free them, but is interrupted when the palm tree behind them starts to move, then reveals a familiar face. Tropic Woods awakens and blows Kirby away while the Waddle Dees are ferried off, and the battle begins.
- Main article: Tropic Woods
The battle with Tropic Woods is similar in many respects to battles with Whispy Woods in prior titles, though Tropic Woods drops much larger coconuts that explode and always turns to face Kirby so it can blow its Air Bullet at him. When Tropic Woods is knocked down to half health, the second phase begins. Here, it uses three new moves: a sweeping air bullet attack, lifting a metal fence in front of its face for protection, and shooting out its roots to fence Kirby in (though these can be destroyed). Once Tropic Woods is defeated, it stops fighting and gives off the characteristic tear of the Whispy family, and the Waddle Dee cage returns within Kirby's reach. Kirby is also awarded the blueprint for Noble Ranger for finishing this fight.
Differences between difficulties[edit]
There are no differences in the stage between Spring-Breeze Mode and Wild Mode.
Missions[edit]
The Tropical Terror has five missions to complete, as follows:
- "Clear the stage" - Kirby simply has to defeat Tropic Woods and rescue the three caged Waddle Dees.
- "Destroy Tropic Woods's roots" - Kirby must break one of Tropic Woods' roots during the second phase of the fight.
- "Clear without using a Copy Ability" - Kirby must defeat Tropic Woods without using any Copy Abilities.
- "Clear within 2:00" - Kirby must defeat Tropic Woods within 2 minutes.
- "Clear without taking any damage" - Kirby must defeat Tropic Woods without taking damage.
