Nutty Noon - Stage 5 (simply called Stage 5 or 5-5 in-game) is the fifth stage of Nutty Noon in Kirby's Return to Dream Land and its remake—Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe. This stage serves as this game's version of the Tower of Mid-Bosses. There are four Energy Spheres in this stage. The Mid-Boss Dubior debuts in this stage.
Overview[edit]
The stage begins outside a looming tower sitting atop the nighttime cloudscape. The wind howls eerily, though no hazards are present here. Kirby will need to enter the tower to begin his ascent.
Once entering the doorway, Kirby will be subject to a series of trials, where he will need to fight a Mid-Boss on each subsequent floor, then solve a puzzle in another room to get an Energy Sphere. Kirby fights the following foes in order of appearance:
After clearing the tower, Kirby can proceed to the right out of the tower to find the stage exit.
Secret Path[edit]
There is a hidden path in this stage, much like there was in its older incarnation in Kirby's Adventure. From the opening area outside the tower, if, instead of going through the door, Kirby hovers above it and goes through the barred window, he can access the other, harder path. Excluding the first section, this is how it progresses.
Kirby follows an inverted path from the original, with a number of different challenges and puzzles. Kirby fights the mid-bosses in this order, often in more difficult spaces:
After clearing the tower, Kirby can proceed to the left out of the tower to find the stage exit.
Energy Sphere guide[edit]
This stage is unique, in that the energy spheres appear in two distinct places depending on which path Kirby takes. Collecting the spheres on one path collects them on the other, so only one path needs to be taken to get them all.
Main Path[edit]
- After defeating Gigant Edge, Kirby can cut a Rope in the next room to get the first sphere.
- After defeating Moundo, Kirby can bust through some metal blocks to get the second sphere.
- After defeating Water Galboros, Kirby can bust through some fire blocks using the Water ability to get the third sphere.
- After defeating Dubior, Kirby can use the Spark ability to access the last sphere in the next room.
Secret Path[edit]
- After defeating Water Galboros, Kirby can use the Water ability to bust through some fire blocks and raise the spikes to get the first sphere.
- After defeating Dubior, Kirby can use the Spark ability to access the second sphere in the next room.
- After defeating Gigant Edge & Kibble Blade, Kirby can use either of their abilities in the next room to cut a rope and get the third sphere.
- The final sphere can be found in the final reward room after defeating Bonkers & Moundo, when Kirby hits the two Stakes in the floor.

Music[edit]
In both games, the first two rooms play "Fierce Winds" and the last room where the Goal Door is located plays "Dreaming of Clouds". The gauntlet itself has multiple tracks that can play depending on the game, the path taken and/or the current game mode.
In Kirby's Return to Dream Land, this stage only has one song: "Crash! Mid-Boss Tower". However, in Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, it has four songs. In Story Mode, the main path still plays "Crash! Mid-Boss Tower", while the secret path plays "VS. Waddle Tank" (due to the removal of Scope Shot). In Extra Mode, the main path plays "Macho of Dedede" from Kirby Star Allies and the secret path plays "History of Kirby Fighters" from Kirby Fighters 2.
