Villains who either faked their own tragedy or actually have a tragic past or Freudian excuse, but cannot qualify as truly tragic because their motivation has nothing to do with their so-called tragedy, with some using it as a flimsy excuse for their actions. While it is common for them to be Complete Monsters, this is not always the case as some can be sympathetic if portrayed as such.

Examples include:

• Villains whose "tragedies" are really petty excuses for villainy. (e.g. Lewis Coltrane, Shrek (LuigiFan00001), The Ascot Man, Toy Freddy, Enzo, Lawyer Kong, Mega Jack Horner, Mickey Mouse (Mickey's Twisted House), and Seabob)
• Villains who brought their misery onto themselves while blaming it on someone, or worse, everyone else. (e.g. Delnos, Mr. Krabs (Mr. Krabs' Unquenchable Blood Lust), Hit The Target, Sir Benedict Cumbersnatch, Spaniel, Monika and The Detective)
• Villains who felt unloved or unappreciated but ended up unsympathetic due to the nature of their actions. (e.g. Charles Eborock, Tails (Secret History), Scarlet Spiker, Luigi (Mario and Luigi: Super Anime Brothers), Kanade Otonokoji, Oscar, Derek Hunter, One-Shot Wren, Apuh, Dr. Eggman (DEATH BATTLE!), and Mitsuki Bakugo)
• Villains who experienced genuine tragedies (e.g. losing their family or loved ones, experiencing prejudice, being bullied/abused, abandoned, tortured, rejected by society, living in poverty, having major health issues such as diseases, disorders, disabilities, etc.), but exaggerate how badly it affected them to make false excuses for their actions or simply aren't or no longer affected by what happened to them. (e.g. Eddie Moss, Niles, Lieutenant Obsidian, Estefa Dora, Dr. Henry Miller, Parker Cerise, Burnhog, M, Caterpie Leader, Squidward Tentacles (Sinister Squidward), and Son Bulla)
• Villains who were exposed to evil forces which brought out their darkest qualities, toxins that were slowly killing them, given powers that were difficult to appropriately use, etc. but instead of searching for help, seeking a proper way to incorporate their powers, or learning self-control, they used it as an excuse to take up villainy (e.g. Geminald, Blackrabbit, and Gorefield)
• Villains whose excuse sounds good enough, but there's no in-universe proof it ever happened, or is completely made-up and never happened (e.g. Novisor)
• Villains who were already cruel and vile people to begin with before experiencing any form of trauma, whether it was genuine or not. As such, their tragedy is prevented from being a legitimate Freudian excuse in the first place (e.g. THOUGHT, Freddy Fazbear (Joy of Creation), Psycho Iris, Commander Shpiggs, William Afton (FNaF VHS), Splash Woman, King Stiron, Jazzghost, and Crying Child)

NOTE: This is for Villains who either faked their backstories or they don't hold up. Villains with background sympathy should be classified as Tragic. And do not add any villains here with merely speculated backstories (e.g Desert Tumbler, Mario (Secret History) and Francis).
