Description[]
Executed by performing a half-circle backward motion (half-circle forward motion in its SSFIIT debut, as well as X-Ism in Street Fighter Alpha 3) and pressing kick, this move is essentially an anti-air Yoga Flame, as Dhalsim inhales deeply and breathes out a plume of fire diagonally upwards. The attack is designed as an anti-air and will not normally hit earthbound opponents unless they are exceedingly tall (e.g. Hugo, T. Hawk or Sagat).
The flame duration is determined by the kick button pressed.
The EX Special version introduced in the Street Fighter IV series has no startup time; the flame lasts longer, has extended vertical range both high and low, and hits twice for nearly twice the damage.
Tactics[]
The move can easily stop airborne attacks (as its main usage), while the EX Special's extra vertical lower reach also hits shorter standing opponents, making it a decent way to end combos. Due to it's active frames and especially the EX version's start up it is quite useful to anti air and remove the guessing game when dealing with aerial attacks with trajectory changes and delays such as Dive Kicks.
