Hazel Chao is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Chao that can increase their bonded individual's rewards.

Appearance[]

Hazel Chao have hazel pudding-like bodies with round, waterdrop-like heads. They also have large eyes, no noses or mouths, round torsos that are smaller than their heads, smooth feet with no legs, and arms with no visible hands. In addition, neither their arms nor feet have digits. They also have a floating yellow dot above their heads, yellow tips on their legs, arms and head points, short and round tails, and a small set of wings on their backs.

Overview[]

In Sonic Speed Simulator, Hazel Chao is a collectible pet. Initially it was introduced as an "uncommon" buddy which could be unlocked during the "Mechanic Tails' Ultra Prize Zone" Event at the Spin Wheels in Green Hill Obby 1 and Green Hill Obby 3 after the player had obtained the third tool drop reward from those Spin Wheels' drop list. When using those Spin Wheels, the player had a 18% chance of getting a Hazel Chao.

By the 2.0 update, however, the rarity of the Hazel Chao had been changed to "Rare", and its method of unlocking was changed so that a batch of five Hazel Chao was granted to the player as a reward for completing the "Building the Stash" Quest in Green Hill.

In gameplay, Hazel Chao can be equipped to the playable character, allowing them to fly by the side of the playable character as they move around. In addition, when equipped, Hazel Chao will grant additional Experience Points whenever the playable character obtains a Chaos Orb and additional Rings whenever they pick up a single Ring. The player can as well level up Hazel Chao for a cost of Rings and/or Red Star Rings at the Upgrade Machine, with level 25 being the maximum level. Leveling up a Hazel Chao will improve its reward-granting attributes. Additionally, the player can fuse a Hazel Chao by collecting five Hazel Chao, leveling all of them up to maximum, and bringing them to the Fusion Machine. Fusing a Hazel Chao will result in a singular fused Chao at level 1.

Hazel Chao are capable of flight. In addition, they possess the power to increase the rewards granted to the person they have bonded with.
