The Bomb Unit, also known simply as the bomb,[2][3] is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is an invention from the Space Colony ARK created at low cost for peace keeping purposes.[4]
Bomb Units are four large, red cylinders connected in a square formation by a black and yellow striped strap. Each side of said strap features a red light on a light grey base.

In Shadow the Hedgehog, Bomb Units can be found in Cryptic Castle, The Doom and Lost Impact. In gameplay, they are used by Shadow the Hedgehog to blast through breakable walls, but it can also be used as a weapon against enemies. They can be obtained from Bomb Servers (ボムサーバー[5],Bomu Sābā?), which provide infinite amounts of Bomb Units.[2][6]
Bomb Units fill Shadow's Dark Gauge, whereas the Heal Unit fills the Hero Gauge.
Heal Units have the same power as the Heal Cannon whereas the Bomb Unit seems to have the same power as a Grenade Launcher or other explosive-shooting weapons.
