This Crocalor is a Fire-type First partner Pokémon owned by Roy, although he was originally with the Rising Volt Tacklers.

Personality[]

As with many Fuecoco, he enjoys eating lots of food, up to the point that he often causes trouble as a result of his gluttony.

Unlike other Fuecoco however, this particular Fuecoco also enjoys singing (a trait seen in his evolved forms), though he is not particularly confident in it, and runs away in embarrassment if someone stumbles into him singing. However, after meeting and bonding with Roy, Fuecoco became comfortable in singing around others. Also, Fuecoco looks up to Professor Friede's Charizard, and wants to become strong just like it.

After evolving, Crocalor remains being friendly and gluttonous.

Biography[]

As Fuecoco[]

Fuecoco was originally one of the Pokémon that resided in the Brave Olivine alongside other Pokémon with the Rising Volt Tacklers.

After the ship was forced to land at an unnamed Kantonian island due to sustained damage, Fuecoco tried to eat the group's rations but was shooed out by Murdock's Rockruff. He then played with Professor Friede's Charizard, but when the professor left to meet up with Roy's grandfather, he tried to follow them but ended up falling overboard and into the forest. While wandering around, he discovered Roy's secret base and trashed it, before going away and then finding a stash of berries which he subsequently ate, resulting in the local Pokémon becoming agitated and placing the blame on Liko and her Sprigatito. Fuecoco then stopped and began singing, which was overheard by Roy, causing Fuecoco to run away when he realized he got discovered. Roy saved him from falling off a cliff and complimented his singing, allowing Fuecoco to become more comfortable singing around others. After Friede saved the group from the wild Pokémon, he took Fuecoco with him back to the Brave Olivine.[1]

The experience resulted in Roy wanting to bond with Fuecoco even more, so Roy snuck onto the ship the following day to meet up with him again. Fuecoco left the ship and while wandering around, discovered the Explorers' submarine. He returned to his friends to warn them of their arrival. During the battle, Roy had Fuecoco try to use Ember, but it had some initial trouble until Liko told him that they needed to bond better. After some singing, he launched a massive Ember.[2]

Roy used Fuecoco against Amethio's Ceruledge, managing to launch an empowered Blaze, though he was quickly defeated by its Phantom Force. It later trained with Sprigatito against Captain Pikachu, though his immense speed and battle experience resulted in him tiring out.[3]

When Liko and Roy arrived in Artazon to investigate a lead on the shiny Rayquaza, they were led to Brassius after meeting Nemona by chance. After being perked up by Roy, Brassius agreed to battle him to gauge his strength in battling Rayquaza. Fuecoco went up against his Sudowoodo and used Ember, but when it emerged unscathed and began using Rock Throw, it panicked. Roy managed to calm him down and use Tackle, but Sudowoodo avoided the attacks using Substitute before taunting him. Fuecoco became enraged and when Brassius told Roy to note what was going on, he realized that Fuecoco was brimming with power. Fuecoco learned Stomping Tantrum at that point and managed to reveal the real Sudowoodo, though he was quickly defeated after Brassius used his Tera Orb to Terastallize Sudowoodo with an empowered Trailblaze. Despite the loss, Roy complimented Fuecoco for doing his best.[4]

Fuecoco later accompanied his Trainer to the forest Brassius mentioned where they encountered a large tree with an ancient Poké Ball. He was unable to scale the tree, so Roy strapped him on his back and scaled it. When the tree awoke, revealed to be a massive Arboliva, Roy had Fuecoco use Ember, but Liko stopped them to avoid causing another fire. Fuecoco assisted Sprigatito with Stomping Tantrum to disorient Arboliva while Mollie was treating an injured Wooper.[5]

Fuecoco was later seen using Stomping Tantrum to help plow the ground as part of Liko's efforts to help the forest recover.[6] Fuecoco congratulated Quaxly for registering inside Dot's Pokéball. Later on, the teams split up to find Liko's pendant after noticing the Ancient Pokéball glow. As Quaxly used Water Gun in the air, Fuecoco and the team hurried over and make it to the cargo ship just before it left the port. After Sprigatito saved Quaxly after an attack from Spinel's Magneton, the three teams came together to take on Spinel's Beheeyem. As the team were saved from Spinal's combo move and Beheeyem's defeat, Fuecoco took out his Magneton with a second Ember shot, although their victory was smeared by an altercation with Wattrel, causing Roy to break up the fight. Spinel sent out an Umbreon, which the Pokémon struggle against. That battle was soon aborted after Liko requested and successfully retrieved the pendant.[7]

Roy found Fuecoco on the bridge being attacked by an annoyed Wattrel after Fuecoco blocked him out of sunlight. Roy called for a truce, which ended up with him singing with Fuecoco, thus ignoring Wattrel, causing it to Uproar and him to block his ears. The altercations continued at feeding time when Wattrel was uncomfortable with Fuecoco's eating habits, causing Roy to intiate another discussion with them, which ended up again with him singing with Fuecoco and ignoring Wattrel causing him to Uproar. Soon, he followed Roy after he overheard a battle between Charizard and Captain Pikachu, inviting the trio to watch Friede's Pokemon, becoming starry-eyed after watching Charizard. Fuecoco took part in a two-on-one battle with Captain Pikachu. The battle ended in defeat as the two Pokemon collide with each other while attempting to sandwich Cap with Tackle and Spark, with Cap jumping off at the right time, causing both of his Pokemon to faint and another altercation between them to take place, until news of 'a lot of turbulence' comes in. As soon as the storm came in, Wattrel got blown away, but was rescued by Roy. Fuecoco noticed a large branch coming towards Roy, but Wattrel went for it head on and broke it with Spark, leaving Fuecoco awestruck. After Roy and his Pokemon made it inside safely, followed by a discussion with Dot about how Wattrel generates power, Roy got an idea and sets off with hiws two Pokemon to practice their "Special Training Time", during dinner-time. The next day, Fuecoco joined Roy in requesting Friede to initiate another battle against Friede's Cap, which they accepted, but this battle ended with his Pokemon defeated once again after Cap swished its tail to fly, causing Fuecoco's Tackle attack to miss in mid-air and crash to the ground.[8]

During training from Kabu at the Motostoke Stadium, Fuecoco was sent out to extinguish the Litwick's flames. Despite his initial disadvantage of randomly launching attacks and subsequently getting hungry, Fuecoco regained his edge after eating, and he and Roy beat Liko and Sprigatito due to Liko's hesitance. Fuecoco later learned Flamethrower during the battle against Kabu's Centiskorch, but was defeated regardless.[9]

When gathering food for the Rising Volt Tacklers' picnic, Fuecoco and Roy came across some greedy Skwovet and Greedent, which attacked them when Fuecoco refused to give them more Berries. Fortunately, they were saved by Dot and Quaxley afterwards.[10]

During Diana's training prior to her departure, Fuecoco and Sprigatito were able to cooperate in battle, which led to Diana approving them for reaching her requirement.[11]

Fuecoco was interested in the pair of sunglasses Murdock gave him when he and Roy were resting on the deck. Later at the historical remains, Fuecoco and Roy met a family of a Krookodile mother, a Krokorok father, and their Sandile children. By singing together, they befriended the family of crocodiles. When the remains' workers had conflicts with the crocodile family, Fuecoco was inspired by the family's Round, thus learning Disarming Voice.[12]

During the battle against Coral, Fuecoco originally was suppressed by Coral's Glalie, who once froze Fuecoco with Blizzard. However, the battle was aborted when Coral and Sidian were recalled to the Explorers headquarters.[13] Later during the fight against Lucius' Rayquaza, Fuecoco fell down from the sky at a high speed, but was saved by the newly evolved Floragato. Despite using Flame Charge against Rayquaza, Fuecoco and his friends were still defeated.[14]

Fuecoco was defeated by Nemona's Pawmot during Roy and Nemona's match. Fuecoco and Roy then strived to become stronger, which motivated them to make a sculpture about Professor Friede's Charizard. Fuecoco and Roy then passed the Terastalization test, after Roy saw through Brassius' Sudowoodo's Substitute strategy, and had Fuecoco defeat Sudowoodo with Terastalization.[15]

Fuecoco and Wattrel had a conflict, after Wattrel was upset about still being unable to fly. Fuecoco and Roy then found Wattrel having sneaked out to practice flying that night, and the three of them encountered Ryme and her Houndstone. The next day, Fuecoco befriended the Capsakid he and Roy met the day before, and later witnessed how Wattrel evolved into Kilowattrel. He then got a ride from Kilowattrel as their bond strengthened.[16]

During the match against Hassel's Baxcalibur and Flapple, Fuecoco teamed up with Brassius' Dolliv. Despite having undergone Terastalization, Fuecoco and Dolliv still lost due to not matching the strength of Baxcalibur and Flapple.[17]

For their implentation test, Fuecoco and Roy headed off to Montenevera with Liko and Dot. At Glaseado Mountain, the group came across a Frigibax and Bergmite that were fighting, with the Bergmite having mistaken Fuecoco as a Frigibax. Fuecoco and Roy then almost got attacked by a Beartic, who thought they were trying to hurt its Cubchoo, until Floragato and Quaxwell saved them. When scouring for firewood for the night, Fuecoco and Roy lost their way and struggled to find each other, but succeeded in reuniting once they sang their song, and even befriended the Ice-type Pokémon they had seen before. The next day, Fuecoco and Roy excitedly continued their journey with their friends to Montenevera after spending the night at the cabin.[18]

During the implementation test, Roy sent out Fuecoco to defeat MC Sledge's Sableye. However, after defeating Ryme's Houndstone, Fuecoco was overpowered by Ryme's Toxtricity because of Roy losing his composure and becoming reckless, causing Roy and Fuecoco to fail the test without needing Ryme to Terastalize Toxitricity.[19] After Roy remembered why he sings, he and Fuecoco were able to pass Ryme's test after they defeated Toxitricity.[20]

When the Explorers attacked Naranja Academy, Roy sent out Fuecoco against Coral, whom they subsequently won against.[21]

During his battle against Liko and Floragato, Fuecoco eventually evolved into Crocalor.[22]

As Crocalor[]

After evolving, Crocalor then succeeded in defeating Floragato after Terastalizing, resulting in him and Roy being the winners.[22]

At Kitakami's Harvest Festival, Roy and Crocalor accidentally swapped bodies after pressing a Synchro Machine simultaneously. Crocalor was excited to experience being in Roy's body, whereas Roy struggled to do so in Crocalor's. Liko and Dot almost mistook Crocalor as Roy, until Roy accidentally spoke. Despite having swapped bodies, Crocalor and Roy still managed to help people at the festival, and eventually both got their own bodies back. Roy and Crocalor were also the reason that the Rising Volt Tacklers were allowed by the Caretaker to head to the Crystal Pool, after the Caretaker heard from his daugther Shizune about Roy and Crocalor having helped her.[23]
