The Shadow Dojo is a dojo and the ancestral home of the Forbidden Five and the Wolf Clan, located deep in the Forest of Spirits. It contained all the remnants of the Five's legacy. After the Ritual of the Blood Moon, the Shadow Dojo was transported to an open field.
History[]
Background[]
Millennia ago, the Shadow Dojo was the base of operations of the Wolf Clan and their leaders, the Forbidden Five. Following their exile by Egalt and Rontu, the Dragon Masters outlawed the Gong and the Mallet of Shattering as well as the Theroxian language and all teachings associated with the Five. They permanently sealed off the Shadow Dojo, ensuring that it would remain closed unless someone possessed the power of a Source Dragon to unlock the entrance.[1] Nevertheless, there existed alternative methods to gain entry into the dojo without the Dragon Masters' knowledge.[2]
Shatterspin Issue 1[]
Garmadon used an amulet that had once belonged to Chen, which turned out to be the key to the Shadow Dojo. With the amulet in hand, he successfully unlocked the entrance to the dojo, only to find it deserted and in ruins. The sight confirmed Garmadon's belief that the Wyldness was indeed a cursed land. In a fit of rage, he hurled the Mallet of Shattering at the Gong of Shattering. The moment the gong echoed through the dojo, it sent Garmadon flying out of the Shadow Dojo.
The Blood Moon[]
Lord Ras and Jordana enter the Shadow Dojo using the power of the Source Dragon mined in the Imperium. Inside, Jordana reads the scrolls of the Forbidden Five, which she doesn't understand. Some time later, Cinder appears at the Shadow Dojo with the Mallet of Shattering.
The Forest of Spirits[]
The Wolf warriors gathered around the Shadow Dojo when they were preparing for the Ritual of the Blood Moon. Ras left to retrive the spell from Arin when Jordana arrived.

The Shape of Motion[]
A training session takes place inside the Shadow Dojo. Cinder and Nokt are fighting to train their Shatterspin technique, surrounded by the Wolf Mask Warriors who contemplate them. While Nokt is about to hurt Cinder by attacking him while he is already down, Ras enters the dojo with Jordana and activates his control implant to stop him. After a tense discussion between Nokt and Ras, the latter urges them to resume training in order to be ready for the Tournament of the Sources.

- It was called the "Wolf Temple" by Tri Vuong.[4]
- It was also called the "Temple of the Forbidden Five" in a soundtrack for Dragons Rising Season 2.[5]
- When questioned about the Dragon Masters' assertion that the Shadow Dojo can only be accessed through Source Dragon energy, despite Garmadon previously opening it with Chen's amulet, which is a key to the Shadow Dojo, Chris "Doc" Wyatt explained that the Dragon Masters weren't informed about everything that happened when they weren't present.[2] This suggests that Garmadon's use of the amulet to gain entry into the Shadow Dojo was indeed a real event, and the Dragon Masters were oblivious to it.
- This also suggests that even though it was asserted that only Source Dragon energy can unlock the Shadow Dojo following the Forbidden Five's exile, there were other unknown methods to do so.
- This is similar to how the Dragon Masters believed that the Forbidden Five can't escape from the Nether-Space until they learned about the Ritual of the Blood Moon.[1]
- This also suggests that even though it was asserted that only Source Dragon energy can unlock the Shadow Dojo following the Forbidden Five's exile, there were other unknown methods to do so.
- Following the imprisonment of the Wolf Clan and the departure of the Forbidden Five to parts unknown after the Tournament of the Sources, the Dojo was likely abandoned.
