Merlopia is a kingdom inhabited by the Merlopians at the bottom of the Endless Sea.
History[]
The Tale of Benthomaar (flashback)[]
Benthomaar and Trimaar are swimming, and Benthomaar almost hurts himself, but Trimaar helps him. Kalmaar later comes to the throne room to show Trimaar his discovery but is sent away harshly by his father. Kalmaar then tricks his adopted brother to going into the Tartarus Trench.
The Wrath of Kalmaar[]
In the palace, Benthomaar greets Kalmaar, to his annoyance. Trimaar asks if Kalmaar had been sinking ships again and Kalmaar denies this. Benthomaar backs up his adopted brother and says that human ships just sink sometimes and it is sad. Trimaar lets his son go and Kalmaar leaves in anger.
Long Live the King[]
After saving Maya and Nya, the ninja are surrounded by Maaray Guards and are forced to enter the kingdom. They enter the room where they meet an angry Trimaar. The ninja explain the events that transpired to lead to them meeting the king. Trimaar is shocked by what the ninja are telling him and calls his son and Gripe. Trimaar and Kalmaar get in an argument where Kalmaar strikes his father and lies on the ninja for the attack of the King.
As the ninja are running from the Merlopians, Benthomaar runs into the room and asks if his father is okay. Kalmaar is attempting to trick Benthomaar into thinking the ninja did this. After Kalmaar suggests helping Trimaar in different ways (though he had no intention of doing so), Benthomaar tries to take Trimaar to anyone who can help. But time is up for Trimaar as he asks for Bentho to put him down and reveals what truly happened. He makes Benthomaar promise to help the ninja and stop Kalmaar.
The ninja are trying to escape the castle but keep running into dead ends. Water is soon flooded into the castle and the ninja are cornered by the Ripper Sharks.
Escape from Merlopia[]
At a gate, the ninja are cornered by Ripper Sharks. The Sharks eventually break the wall Zane made and Nya jumps in to help Lloyd, who was closest to the wall. The gate is opened by Benthomaar, and he helps them escape Merlopia to get to the Island of the Keepers.
The Storm Amulet[]
In the Merlopian Palace, Kalmaar and Gripe are going through lots of scrolls to find the location of the Storm Amulet. Glutinous comes in the throne room and shows him the Storm belt, theorizing that is where it may be. Kalmaar agrees with the theory and tells Gripe to get his guards ready.
Appearance[]
Merlopia is a relatively small kingdom located between high underwater cliffs and high stone pillars on which the Merlopians' houses are attached. Each building resembles a seashell with cyan windows, each with a different number of floors. In the center of Merlopia on the stone pillar is located the Merlopian Palace, which also resembles the shell on which the rest of the palace is placed. There are sea currents throughout Merlopia that are used to transport the citizens.
