Boruto Uzumaki is the titular main protagonist of the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime and manga series. He is a shinobi from Konohagakure's Uzumaki clan, as well as a descendant of the Hyūga clan. He is a member of Team Konohamaru.

He is voiced by Yuko Sanpei in the Japanese version, and by Amanda Celine Miller in the English version.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]

• Stopped Sumire from her rampage against the Leaf Village and pointing her to a better life, ending her years of trauma.
• Developed a friendship with Kagura, which steered him off a path of isolation and villainy.
• Helped Naruto and the other kage save the world from Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki.
• Saved Tento from being killed by the Mujina Bandits and also taught him the values of hard work, turning him from a spoiled brat to an ethical person aspiring to be a ninja.
• Traveled back in time to protect and team up with a young version of Naruto to defeat Urashiki Otsutsuki.
• Saves one of the Haze quadruplets from drowning in quicksand despite being enemies. He then helps him reunite with his brother one last time before being killed by Deepa.
• In the anime, helps Ao see the wrongdoing of his actions after defeating him, despite having killed Mugino previously.
• With the help of Team 7, takes down many villains who deserve to be stopped like the Zetsu Monster, The Fabrications, and especially Boro and Deepa.
• He attempted to kill himself so Isshiki Ōtsutsuki won't be able to consume all chakra on earth.
• Offered his life to stop the Great Sea Battle of Kirigakure.
• Is willing to kill himself to stop Momoshiki from taking over his body and causing destruction, asking Kawaki to kill him.
• Despite possessing many dislikeable qualities at the start of the series, such as viewing his natural talent and status as superior to others' hard works, being very arrogant in his abilities, freely bragging about them regularly and showing no value in teamwork, being rude towards Naruto and getting upset at him for prioritizing the village over his family, he manages to subverts all those traits throughout the series and become a better person.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]

• He is rude towards Kawaki when he is taken in by the Uzumaki family, thinking of him as a nuisance and not caring he's an orphan. At one point, he completely ignores Kawaki's lifelong trauma because he broke his sister's vase earlier. While his relationship with Kawaki has improved, he never apologized for his early hostility towards him.

Trivia[]

• Boruto has a recurring similar admirable act through the series, which is attempting to sacrifice his own life about three times.
• There is a chance Boruto's status as Near Pure Good could change in the future. In the future flashback prologue, his personality seems to have become drastically different, becoming much more somber. Some theorize that Boruto became a villain (or anti-hero) which could make him Inconsistently Admirable or even Inconsistently Heinous.
