Senku Ishigami is the main protagonist of the Dr. Stone manga and anime series. He is friends with Taiju Oki and Yuzuriha Ogawa. He is a bright young scientist who strives to rebuild human civilization 3,700 years after the human race suddenly turned to stone.

He is voiced by Yuusuke Kobayashi in Japanese, who also voiced Subaru Natsuki, and Aaron Dismuke in English.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?[]

• He’s a heroic science prodigy who sought to revive all of humanity after the Petrification event.
• When the world was turned to stone, Senku spent millennia counting each passing second as to not lose track of what year it was.
• Upon being revived, he immediately began his quest to rebuild civilization from scratch using the power of science and even enlisted the help of his best friend Taiju.
• When the two of them were cornered by wild lions, he revived Tsukasa to help them. To repay Tsukasa for his help, Senku enlisted him as one of the first members of the Kingdom of Science.
• He discovered and utilized the Revival Fluid to depetrify Taiju's love interest Yuzuriha and recruited her as well.
• Even after Tsukasa betrayed Senku and co and attempted to kill them, Senku didn’t want to hurt him and actively avoided lethal methods.
• In general, Senku makes an effort to not kill his enemies and will actively pursue non-lethal means of dealing with threats, including imprisonment, in hopes of preparing the new world for law and order once everyone is revived.
• He sought out the Ishigami Village and educated them about the ways of science.
• He also created antibodies to save their priestess Ruri, who’s also Kohaku’s sister.
• With the help of Ishigami Village members, who he recruited as members of the Kingdom of Science, he defeated Tsukasa and his empire without killing a single person, bringing an end to the Stone Wars.
• When Tsukasa’s right-hand man Hyoga fatally stabbed him, Senku worked with Tsukasa to defeat him. He then built a fridge to put Tsukasa in a cold sleep until he found a way to cure his injury.
• Since the Stone Wars were over, Senku and his people joined forces with Tsukasa’s people and together built the Perseus, a ship that would allow them to travel overseas to locate the source of the petrification.
• Senku set off on a journey to find the source of the petrification with Ryusui as the captain and eventually located the Petrification Kingdom. There, they defeated Ibara and acquired the Medusa, the technology used to Petrify others, in hopes it can be utilized differently to cure fatal alignments and chest death.

What Prevents Him From Being Pure Good?[]

• He’s very arrogant and can be mischievous at times, such as the time he almost tricked Taiju into drinking gasoline, claiming it was a “love potion”. Although, he states he did this with the knowledge Taiju was too smart to fall for it.

Trivia[]

• He was once considered a candidate for Pure Good, until the rules were changed so Heroic Jerks couldn't qualify.
