Magatsushin is a website that host videos of “annoying people” over the internet. The site is controlled by a mysterious individual known as Magatsukami. Magatsukami will certify select problematic people as Phantoms which causes their shadows to gain a power boost (as seen with Kei Akashi when he gets certified mid battle). The people who are certified as phantoms are the main targets for the Phantom Thieves.
Chapter 3: Concert For Rulebreakers[]
At Asshouken, Masa starts out by saying he heard someone posted on Magatsushin about the "Tyrannical Teacher." When exiting the restaurant, Motoha Arai notices Riko Tanemura looking at her phone, and asks what she’s doing. Riko responds that she’s checking Magatsushin, since Masa said he couldn’t find the Tyrannical Teacher post, and sure enough, no one is talking about it, and the single post about it ended up getting buried. The Tyrannical Teacher was never officially certified as a phantom. Shun Kanou says that is a good thing, but Motoha notes that it still caused a lot of commotion at their school, even if society at large ignored it. Riko agrees only Kokatsu Academy cared about Kumi Katayama being a phantom, which means that if the Phantom Thieves had sent Katayama a proper calling card, they would have given away to the mastermind that the Phantom Thieves are associated with Kokatsu Academy.
The heroes have to sent Kei Akashi a calling card through the website and a girl named Aran Hirai look the website on her phone.
