Axe Max (アックスマックス) is a lumberjack Reploid that appears in the stages of Chill Penguin and Sting Chameleon from Mega Man X and its remake Mega Man Maverick Hunter X, Chill Penguin's stage from Mega Man Xtreme, and Neon Tiger's stage from Mega Man Xtreme 2.
Description[]
Axe Maxes are blue robots that stand on a single leg with a round, blue dome-shaped foot. They have a humanoid design from the waist up. Their artwork for Mega Man X depicts them with a blue body, pink eyes, and a greyish-white jaw, but in the game, their eyes are given an orange colour. In the Mega Man Xtreme games, they are colored brown instead of blue. In both Mega Man X and the Mega Man Xtreme games, Axe Maxes have white hands.
Axe Maxes attack by sending log pieces at the player by chopping the log with their axe, and then the log regenerates to repeat. Spikes extend from the log pieces launched by the Axe Max, but they don't kill the player in one hit. If it manages to hit the player with a log, the Axe Max will laugh. It's possible to stand on the logs without receiving damage.

Axe Max appeared briefly in the area controlled by Chill Penguin in the Rockman X manga, while also being seen among the Maverick minions surronding X and Zero, and can be seen on the variant cover of Mega Man #40.
